Toontrack EZbass has a cool feature called the Audio Tracker that allows you to quickly generate MIDI and create a bass line from an audio file like a guitar track, drum track, and even other bass tracks.
It's a fast way to create a bass line that complements your track. It's a game-changer for composers and musicians alike.
You can also head to the Drums & Keys tab and simply drag & drop a drum MIDI file, piano MIDI file, etc... and EZbass will generate MIDI and create a bass line that goes along with the MIDI you dropped in.
From there you can quickly modify the bass MIDI or select similar bass MIDI that was played by a professional bass player.
EZbass is packed with a lot more awesome stuff, but just those two features alone make it worth the money for any composer or musician.

You don't need to use a guitar to do this. You can use you r mic and even hum a tune and it will track the notes perfectly. Imagine you want a synth part but don't play keyboards. You can sing or whistle the tune you want your synth to play and you save the midi notes and put them on your synth track. You don't have to use this just for bass. Often I have a riff or a tune in my head that I lose by the time I get my guitar out and figure out how to play it. Now I can just hum the tune into the mic and I have the midi notes saved for anything i like.

So far of all the videos I've watched this is the best video explanation on the EZ Bass audio tracker feature. I just got the program yesterday and was having a pretty difficult time figuring out how to get this to work with Reaper. I will try this later thank you !

Watched half a dozen videos and then found yours. The VERY FIRST 3 minutes and you solved the issue of getting a bass line for my guitar! Some questions I'm hoping you could answer: 1.) Is it better to turn off the guitar plugin in ST1 first and hit record? I noticed yo took the "dry" guitar sound without the plugin. 2.) Are you muting all other tracks that are present before recording? 3.) After you hit play and it brings in the bass line-The Additional Articulations box- Which do yo choose? Great video! Question: Can you use a Guitar to control the Easy Bass software? In other words, let's say you don't have a Bass guitar, you only have a Guitar, and you want to use that Guitar to "play" the Easy Bass in real time - play live along with the tracks. Can you do that or do you actually need a Bass guitar plugged in? Thanks in advance! 🙂✌️👍

Can't answer this question myself, but I imagine your scenario would be better off with just using a digital detune pitch shifter that most plugins and hardware modelers seem to have these days to tune your guitar an octave down for a bass part. You can see this done with some people who do live looping with both electric and acoustic guitar. If you dig around you can find someone who does some good tutorials for this for looping using the Line 6 Helix.

I've been wanting to do this for years. I've NEVER EVER, been able to successfully open EZBASS as a virtual instrument in CUBASE though. I've done it with EZDRUMMER 1 & 2. And a ton of other VSTs. But NEVER for EZBASS. I can open EZBASS standalone, and use it with pre-recorded tracks if I wanted to. But it really sucks I can't do it all directly in CUBASE. 😡

So basically I can record a dry signal track for a whole song or along the song then render it then dropping into ez bass and then take the midi and drop that into the daw ?

Basically. You don't even need to drop the MIDI in the DAW. You can leave it inside of EZ Bass and edit however you want. You can even choose similar phrases that were played by professional studio bass players.

Where do you get the TapeDeck content Guitar loops like Foo Monkeys, Kurt In bloom ETC . Are those sample that comes with your DAW, Did you make those samples? I can't find it on the internet and was wondering how to get those loops? Awesome video btw.

Yeah I was using a 9 string guitar tuned to my custom tuning of A-E-A-E-A-D-G-B-E, so drop A would be the equivalent of the A on the 7th string. And it did fine.

Iam confused. The converted bass track tempo and the audio tempo I played to record. doesn't match. Bass audio tempo way too slower. :(

The tempo for each-EZ Bass or EZ Drummer and your DAW tempo must match-I ran into the same issue. Also, make sure you click on the "Follow Host" in the EZ Bass interface. When you click play in your DAW, everything will track correctly.
