W I N C H I L L I N Windchill has got to be my one of my favorite abilities with how fun it is without being outright broken. Love the way you made use of walls and roots to minimize the weaknesses

Yeah, windchill it's just a fun ability and the pushback + the new root also open a lot of possibilities in terms of support and gameplay. I saved a lot of teammates just with windchill, or situations where I may not have directly taken down the enemy, but I often put them in situations where Windchill sealed their fate haha

This is great. This is one of those underrated very unpopular builds that finds success in a niche way lol. I’ve never really liked playing meta or the most popular builds, always tried unpopular ones. Will definitely try this out thanks!

3:39 Build STATS: 25 dex 350 int 25 focus 200 con (Extra points use it in Con. or Int. In Con. u will get better value from it, but up to u or magnify). It's NOT a left-click spam build. You actually need to make use of all the interactions between IG-VG to get the maximum value from it. As a result, you can enjoy high sustain in everything (HP, stamina, mana, and fun). Block with IG, cleanse debuffs and DoT's (like poison arrow) with VG's right-click. Use VG's auto-attacks to trigger Refreshing Moves and/or heal yourself. You can also use Windchill Grit just to avoid CC's and cancel it to perform other actions. The Ice Storm perk is pretty much a must-have to ensure you can easily root people with IG's heavy attack. Play smart, and you'll have way more than enough tools to outplay others, whether they're ranged or melee. Winchill has: - Grit - High emotional dmg power - Root after 1.2sec (=to 6 ticks) - Strong push back - Effective at discouraging anyone from dueling you ever again.

Yeah, WC counts as a DoT, for example, it do not proc empowering breaker, It can't crit either, but still I take the 25 dex for crit chance because we gain stam on crit (15) and 1.3 crit is enough to get a bit of extra dmg vs light players. And definitelyu want WC perk on weapon if u want to use the ability, good that u save that IG so u can give it a try, and if u like it u can just roll 1 seal with Alacritous Punishment or Keenly Empower + Windchill perk, and whatever u get will be fine (except the mortal shit, but u have 96% to roll a decent IG :P)

And get ready because, from what we've seen so far on PTR, S4 is all buff for this build :D I'm mainly playing this build tbh, the more I play it the more I like it. Feels tanky, good dmg, A LOT of utility and outplay potential, feels very nice to play in group, we provide so much value with all the roots, slows and shit we apply + the push back. If you play it smart, for example in Areas, you'll feel like you're running the show xD I want to try to put the ice dmg on runeglass and change harnessing for sh heals, that could improve the build and make us very hard to kill.

The medium pants are pretty good too, it should work fine :D And I think BiS would be WC perk + Alacritous Punishment and 3rd perk: Refreshing move or shrinking frost (I'm not sure ) But u can just craft with 1 seal WC perk + Alacritous Punishment and if u get: Refresh moves, any shirking dmg, KE, keen, vicious, enchanted or keenly speed u are gucci :D

Actually I forgot about attunement, if u want to really invest in it and unleash the maximum power of the build, u can craft with the azoth inductor and pick WC perk+punishment+frost attu. But before that, craft the 2 cheap perk with Seal, and if after playing the build for some time u really love it, go for the BiS expensive craft.

If u have decent gear u could put Ice dmg runeglass on it. But keep in mid that empower cap is 50% and we have a base of: 7% honing stone 7% ice dmg ring + 10% harnessing 10% runeglass + 15% Oblivion 20% tether Last 2 are not always active but I mean, u can play with those numbers and maybe have less harnessing and add another perk on armor, like run a sh heals set up and use 5% runeglass instead or harnessing. Or mix some harnessing + 2/3 runeglass. There is room to min-max it taking different paths :) And we don't worry about getting extra empower to counter weaken because we can clean any debuff with tomb or just VG's right click. I'll try to make a video explaining more in depth about all these options of gearing :)

I’d assume WC is considered ranged thus proccing negative energy on VG? I only ask because they don’t exactly tell you if an ability is ranged or melee even though it’s obvious in most cases but for example, ice spike was changed to be melee for what perks need it to be so.

WC is a bit weird, it is a DoT, so there are many things that don't proc, for example: Leeching/lifesteal Empowering breaker It can't crit either, so any on crit perk It does not "hit", so it shouldn't proc conditioning perks. And as far as I know WC does not proc sh heals, sh fortification, etc. I'm not sure if elemental aversion is reducing the WC dmg properly, I think they change it but I'm not 100%, I'll test it later. @@Checkyoursyx Yeah bro, same feeling, get detailed info in NW is annoying af. Not to mention that now the dummy takes more dmg than players. Imagine having custom dummies to test any perk, any armor type, etc. Or when the status bar is bugged and showing nothing, GL to know what's active and what isn't haha In many cases u need to go full nerd and just look at the files to know what's happening, QoL lvl -100 xD

For voidblade I have some plans for S4 with the LS artifact (last video is a quick demonstration) But voidblade is another ability that u need to build all around it to make it work properly and get good value, like WC, so have both in the same build as main ability is probably bad idea. I'm running oblivion tether because both are sources of empower and weaken and we need the empower to make windchill work. We could sacrifice Scream, buuut I don't think it is a good play, like there is no chance to trade with voidblade in light armor vs serenity, or weapons like sns or spear. Also, running voidblade in this build would make it weaker vs range in a heavily range meta.

Had someone on valhalla light me up with windchill one night. I play ls/flail and can usually tank a lot of stuff but the storm into windchill straight up surprised me. Probably bc it's off meta and i dont have ice gemmed anyways. Typically im fire gem, slash and some opals. Nice bulld though!

Yeah no one runs Ice protection (and no one should do it, in general is a bad idea xD) and this build takes advantage of that, windchill dmg can be scary. Not even close to BiS I carry several arenas with this build and I think my record in dmg was like 600k/700k or something like that, not a joke haha And push back people out side the final ring and root them there is fun af, ez win hahaha Btw, thanks for ur comment bro :D

U can just pick the 3rd perk. I think the recipe is 250 dark matter, 3 Chromatic Seal, the azoth crystal ring, 1 jewelry Matrix and the charm for the perk u want (for ice dmg we need Patch of Corrupted Cloth)

Yeah IG artifact is a big W for this build + the new int gem changes, ultra buff for us. I'm planning to bring back the WC/hammer I showed in the previous WC video and some other annoying combinations hehe

VG/GA is more common but I tried it in S2 without the artifact and now I want to try my Whirlwind version with the void axe, fun guaranteed xD

Something like; ARMOR: -Health/ ele aversion / weapon perks -Health/ ele aversion / refreshing x4 (but u can use 1 refreshing on earring/ring to have extra slot on armor for defensive perks) -Health/ ele aversion / sh energy (pants) In the final form is better use ice runeglass and change harnessing for any other defensive perk, it could be conditioning perks or freedom. -Weapon perks on armor: *Ice Storm, Mandatory* Scream is good to have but not mandatory to make it work. And oblivion is in the middle, isn't mandatory but it's REALLY good to have. JEWELRY: -Amulet / Health, Stam Recovery, Fire/Thrust protection. -Ring / Hearty, Ice dmg, (last perk isn't a big deal could be leech, refreshing to use something else in armor, or Purifying Heart) -Earring/ Healthy Toast, Regenerating, (same that ring) WEAPONS: -IG / Windchill perk, Alacritous Punishment/ Refreshing moves or Shrinking ice -VG / Lifetaker with Tether crafted on it I hope it helps :D Out of curiosity, have you already played the build for some time? you like it? Yeah the initial plan was KE instead of Shirking, but I roll that one so I just keep it. But we still have high empower: 7% honing stone 7% ring 10% harnessing 10% runeglass (if u use it) 20% tether 15% obli and from time to times I get a bit more from empowering brake. So after play more with the build I consider just do not run KE and use shirk ice or even refreshing moves instead

Saddly witht this setup i did find hard to fight heavy and with lots of hp bruisers who have great sword and great axe or spear ,maybe i am doing something wrong , but they just dont get enough dmg to be killed:(

If they use spear u MUST avoid or clean the skewer weaken, it reduces ur dmg in half (clean with tomb or VG's right click) U can use the same WC pushback to avoid skewer and perforate. Vs great sword, they take 15% more dmg during onslaught stance, but 15% less during defiance stance, so u need to put attention in which stance they are (in general depends what ability they use last). Also Relentless (the spin ability) removes roots, so u can expect they use it after root to timing it and dodge it. Vs medium players in general try to keep up the rend applied provided for lifetaker (up to 30% rend, is a noticeable amount of extra dmg) Also make sure to capitalise tether and oblivion empowers (and weakens). For example if at the moment of cast Ice Storm u are on top of oblivion, Ice Storm will continue doing dmg during all the duration of the ability counting the empower of oblivion (or any other source) that u had at the moment to cast it. That's why u want to try to first land tether, drop oblivion and then cast Storm. Not always possible, but if possible it makes the difference. If they play full sh heals, try to auto attack less if they are just waiting for ur autos to heal themselves. Windchill/oblivion/Ice Storm dmg do not proc sh heals. U can use auto attacks but u need be more careful, u can notice when they are just making time and waiting to dodge ur auto attacks to heal. To keep up ur cds with ig u can try to cast inside ur Ice Storm or any ally frozen area, it will reduce ur cd 20%. GA and spear are more easy to counter but GS can be tricky because they have grit on heavy attacks (so no push back with wc) and an ability to break root.

Yeah, better than ever. And in S5 they just buffed this build a lot. With a few changes we could have 30% extra base dmg and use orb instead of tether. (We'll max empower without tether). I'll try to show the updates of this build for S5 in the upcoming days :)
