Amazing list! I need to check out "Page of Madness" and "Dante's Inferno." Glad to see some underrated ones get some recognition here, such as "Haxan" and "The Phantom Carriage." And Lon Chaney is amazing in everything! I thought maybe his "The Unknown" would make your list as that is one of his best roles. I love "Phantom of the Opera" but with so many different edits/versions/cuts out there, I'm not sure that I've seen the definitive silent one. There are some other great ones out there too- I watched the first horror anthology 1919's "Eerie Tales" as one of my Halloween picks this year. Great job!

Lots of good ones and some I need to check out. I saw The Phantom Carriage not long ago and one of my favorites from that era. Haxan is pretty creepy for sure!

Haxan is one of the scariest and most believable horror films of all time. You get the feeling that everything is real, the devils, the witches, the demons, all the actors. A masterpiece. I've watched it many times. And Max Schreck is the one and only Nosferatu. When i was younger, i think he is real
