As a build and display piece, the medieval blacksmith set is absolutely awesome. Just recently built mine. Can’t recommend enough. Has such a charm like the old fishing store. The A Frame Cabin will be another one to join this list.

@@xcyphs Yes they are now but that's exactly because the 3 in 1 castle and the blacksmith are still available. The original Black Falcons cost an arm and a leg. Once these sets retire price of Black Falcons might go up again across the board.

187th were actually created by hasbro and named "mace windus attack battalion" in 2005 I believe, theyre quite popular amongst clone fans, the action figure battle pack which came with 3 of the 187th "shock" troopers as well as the 187th commander+windu goes for a bit over $100 now

Hi, Jake ! Nice list ! Here in France, Winnie is not as popular as in the US, kinda like the Sesame street, but i think the rest of the list is spot on ! I own two police station and three blacksmith sets already. I think about getting five of each at least and that they will definitely be really good investments in the middle long run.

My #1 is the Disney Mini Haunted Mansion. Lego Store Exclusive and 17 month shelf life. It's also the 1st of the Mini sets to retire. Of course there are only two of them right now, but if they continue making them and make an It's a Small World, Pirates of the Caribbean, or Tower of Terror, the fact that it's the first one to retire will be huge. The Star Wars Inquisitor Transport Scythe (75334) is another one on my top 10.

I own three of the blacksmith just for myself. I don't "invest" lego, so I just watch these to see what is retiring. Surprising to see the Blacksmith going! I managed to get two from somebody who saw a whole pallet of them on sale for 80 bucks each at his local costco. Bought two off of him for 160 bucks, SOOO GOOD for building MOCs! I wanted some more for spare parts and building more of a medieval town, but since it's retiring I doubt I'll be able to find it so cheap ever again. Sad times. :(

I bought the Republic Tank on back stock and it took a month or longer to arrive. The Mini-Figs are already worth the lrice of the set itself. I still have the box in very good condition, stickers, original piece bags & Instructional guide. It's on yo! Also I've seen the Tall Neck Jedi that comes with Obi-wans Jedi ship is supposed to appreciate. Same deal with that one also. Wish I would've stayed on the train.

Just a question but I kinda agree about the exclusivity of the 187th legion but what makes that set stand out vs a 501st battle pack (old or new). My thesis is that clone army builders will build their armies out until a certain point therefore in 2 or 3 yrs won't have a need for more. That's why I've stayed away from them but with this set I like the exclusive Mace Windu and the fact I don't think they'll release these clones in any other sets

You need to buy an ozone generator for about $50. A large air tight box. Put your smelly items inside the airtight box with the ozone generator and run it for 20-30 minutes. Repeat the process if necessary.

I have bought sets from smoke homes before but they were newer sets so I was able to just leave them in my house and smell went away over time. But for multiple years of smell it’s going to be tough

I would say it’s a safe bet that City Gardens will retire at the end of this year, as it was rumored to retire last year and didn’t. The first two in that line, Ninjago City & City Docks are monsters in terms of aftermarket value and desirability!

Would not dare to invest in the Blacksmith set… EVERYONE thinks that it is a good investment so it is a huge amount of sets in investor hands, then when this set being so popular, it is a huge risk that Lego will retire the ideas set and then just re-release it as a normal set, just like they did with the ship in a bottle and the Saturn V

This is true a re-release would make this a much much longer hold. But the Saturn V is almost at 100% ROI despite being way over hoarded and re-released! I’d imagine in 3-5 years the Saturn could be at $300-$350. And I think the same could be true for blacksmith if not better… time will tell!

I’m sorry though. The Star Wars helmets are the best overall investment and you didn’t list one. They are very very collectible and fans will always always want to collect them all. They are decently cheap and low storage. I’m shocked you are not listing any of them

I think that cat is out of the bag on their investment potential. So they may struggle to appreciate at the level the tie fighter, and storm trooper have. And I believe the only ones retiring are the dark trooper and Luke helmets. But hey I could totally be wrong

This year there seem to be much better must hit sets than last year. Last year seemed light after 2021 which had many great investments. I doubled my return in a year with 4 trex sets. That money I am now innvesting in republic tanks, Winnie the poohs, tall necks and the brickheads you mentioned. Bought an assembly and a station, if they boom I'll sell but I would rather keep them. Glad you mentioned the slow growth of the blacksmith, you had me rethinking briefly there. Hoping to double my money on 2 disney castles and 5 sesame streets this xmas🙏

Guradians minifigs are not unique, most of them are sold in smaller sets like peter inpolly is same figure, so no Guardians new ship is bad advice here, really bad advice since Benatar was up for 3 years and is much more beloved set.

I have many concerns with the continued national and global economic problems and my talks with Lego store management and their info that sales have dropped big time . This may be a year to but on deep discounts and possibly having to hold for many years. Also if they go thru with this digital dollar and government control of our money may be a big factor on what kind of money we will be able to make . Man, I don't want to sound rude or something, but .... although I think your suggestions are better than most of the suggestions I see from other Lego investors giving advice, if you want to be a top investor you should start consuming the materials from which the sets you recommend are based upon. For example, buy the two games, Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West, play them, finish them, then decide if this set is good for investing or not. Don't rely on what other people say. Other investors have taken other people's word for granted, and they lost a lot of money (see the AT-ST Raider, for example). Yes, Tallneck is one of the best picks, but don't rely on my opinion, you should form yours. Same for Ahsoka. See The Clone Wars, Rebels, The Mandalorian, then form an opinion. Because Lego collecting is not about mathematics or gossip, it is about passion. As investors, we are addressing to these people. And I cannot believe that you didn't mention that Ahsoka is getting her own series in August, news that got a lot of people hyped. That will be the key factor for the Brickheadz here. And for The Ghost also. If that show does well, the set will explode in value. If not, it will be just another Brickheadz on the shelf. Again, I don't want to appear to be nitpicking, but I think these factors are key if you want to be successful.

I think I partially agree… 1. Yes I totally forgot to mention Ashoka show coming out! Could help the set do insanely well. 2. I would say that making investing decision based on your own (or my) personal passion is overall a bad idea. If I were making a top 10 list based on my favorite sets then I would have the creator expert Mustang at #1. But my passions do not describe the passions of everyone or desirability for that matter. So doing research like searching video game forums and learning that other people, other than myself, like Horizon then that is ultimately the only factor that matters. If only one person likes a set it won’t be a very great investment. Appreciate the thoughts and keep it up!!

@@JakesBricks I totally agree. But I never said that you should invest in sets that you like. For example, I never liked Harry Potter, but I invest in a lot of sets. I don't care about Winnie The Pooh, but I bought some sets. I didn't like any of the Thor movies, but I invested in 2 sets. I hate the Obi Wan Kenobi series, but couldn't resist The Scythe. So don't get me wrong. I was just saying that consuming source materials is good to better understand the place of a character, building, ship, or whatever, in the particular univers it belongs to. To know what it represents and why it is loved by the fans. You don't need to like it yourself. I just think it is better to go through the material yourself (for Lego licensed sets) than getting summaries from other people. Anyway, best of luck!
