Hi Jake. Thank you so much for this information. Question, if a LEGO set is marked as retiring soon let’s say in Denmark but in the United States list is not included, does it mean the set only will be retired in that specific country or everywhere? Even if like I said it is not included in other countries lists. I collect the architecture theme and I had no idea 2 of them were retiring this year, I live in the US and they are not marked like that. Thank you so much in advance and keep up the great work.
@JakesBricks18 сағат бұрын
Yes 99/100 they will retire in the same year I have only seen two examples in 12 years of LEGO collecting where this didn’t happen

Sadly there is high competition which leads to holding times of 5 year to see good returns. I also struggle to sell Lego in generals I have many retired sets both used and new but most people can’t afford them. And you also need much money to start investing .

Thanks for the update Jake! Much appreciated. So I have a question.. Im not new to Lego but buying as investment is new to me. I have bought a Star Wars set 75364 for €72,- that is announced to be retired. The box is sealed but the printing on the box is damaged slightly and the box looks a bit rough on the edges. Like 5cm² (±1inch²) of the printing is gone. The seller now offers a 10% discount for the damage (so total 65,-) or full refund. What is the best to go for you experienced guys think?
@JakesBricks5 күн бұрын
65 for this set is pretty decent! The box damage will affect the value but not much in the short term. I would take that deal!
@kerutha99585 күн бұрын
@@JakesBricks Thank you for the reply! I will take the discount in that case. Much appreciated mate 👍🏽

They stop producing per end calendar year, at the latest. Also the supply chain to retailers have already been ended for months. Certain sets will remain in stock in warehouses from Lego and of course (online) retailers for some time till the items are sold.

Thankfully I’ve held off selling my husbands Star Wars Lego until I’d sold loads of other stuff around the house. In the UK, EBay has got rid of all fees (except for vehicles) I’d have hated to sell all his Lego and paid the fees. Then they announced it was free to sell after. I hope they start to do the same on other EBay sites. 👍 I was looking to see the best way to sell. Was hoping there would be a magical place that would take everything as it is 😂 Not looking forward to having to dismantle it all.

@@JakesBricks Its just a fact. There is no way that prices will grow as much as they used to when nobody was investing in lego.
@travisstaggs5136Ай бұрын
Years ago you could have invested in Lego sets but this current era when everyone is hoarding unopened sets will come to be the equivalent of baseball cards from the early 90’s that are everywhere today and sell for little more than they did 30 years ago
