This is by far, the best and most accurate top 10 3DS game list I've ever seen. My only change would be to switch Fire Emblem and A Link Between Worlds. Fire Emblem: Awakening was by far the best 3DS game so far.

That game should have been on the Wii U instead of the 3DS, the controls can give you handcramps and the fact the game comes with a stand defeats the purpose of having it on a handheld.

Midknight i admit it is a good game got a lot of in-depth system the only thing i hate about the game is that got no replay value its take a long time to get the team you want and you have to get them again after you finish the game when im finish the game i got the feeling that im not going to be playing it after the first run since the game force you to recruit all the optional member on your first play through is kinda bad idea i'll give it a 4/5

How do you get past the fact none of the characters have feet? I just can't help but be turned off by that detail. Even hours into the game, it still bugged me and it got to the point where I just couldn't enjoy the game anymore because of it. Otherwise, it was a perfect game. I wish I wasn't so bothered by that small detail. : (

3DS is my favorite system of all that is out these days. You get all kinds of great games that don't just focus on cut scenes and shooting. I would get a console, but all I hear about are companies that charge for DLC, want you to spend money on a new version of their game yearly, and people are generally dicks when you play online. 3DS is great, and you can use it anywhere you go like if you have a wife and she wants to shop, you're not stuck just standing there lol.

Daniel Sakara Kingdom Hearts should be on that list and it is because it was the first game to finally tell the story of what happened after KH2. Until 3 that is the only bridge. I bought a 3DS to buy KH 3D.

This is not a bad list per say, but in a countdown like that you expect games like Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance or Kid Icarus: Uprising. The games on here are the most recent ones, so, as you played them more recently, you forgot about some of the 3DS's early masterpieces.

Frank West I know all that, but like i said, there was too much loading. Enter a battle: first theres a 5 second loading screen. Then you beat the opponent and there's another 5 second loading to get out of the battle screen. If you want to open a menu, there's another 5 second loading. Exit the menu, and more waiting. I feel like the half of the time is spent playing i waited for the game to load something.

The lack of Kid Icarus Uprising on this list is immensely disturbing. Controls aren't an excuse to ignore it's sheer unsurpassed quality in every other area, and are actually a grossly overexaggerated complaint - you get multiple control schemes to choose from for a start, and even discounting that, the default scheme takes... the 1st chapter for you to get accommodated to it? And for the record I've literally never used that stand once for what it's worth. Amazing writing, some of the best graphics on the system 2 years into the system's life, surprisingly deep gameplay and a meticulous eye for detail (come on, it's Sakurai). Definitely beats Mario Kart 7 in my books, as much as I love the series. Aside from that glaring omission, this is a very strong list.

smash wasn't released yet when this video was made... also, he says at 0:25 that "here are 10 OTHER games" (implying that smash was considered for the list before it was even released? lol) anyhow, dunno why kid icarus isn't on this list. i don't have it, never tried it... but based on other reviews, maybe the control scheme prevented it from getting onto the list, even though it's probably one of those the reviewers had a hard time cutting out :S

I can understand why for all 3. Monster Hunter 3U is an enhanced port of Tri and 4 U wasn't out yet. Kingdom Heart's Drop system was an unnecessary annoyance and was impossible for newcomers to jump into. And Kid Icarus: Uprising rather uncomfortable controls are too decisive to make the list.

TheDuckClock First of all 3U has way more content. Second, Kid Icarus was simple in controls, and by no means was uncomfortable, unless you were left handed, but that's why the circle pad pro is there. Third, the drop system in KH wasn't really that annoying, and if you wanted to go back to Sora or Riku, just pause and hit the drop button.

They're all still valid reasons, and yes the controls for Uprising were very uncomfortable, the only reason why anyone would think they're not is if they're under 18 and haven't had their hands fully develop yet. And saying "That's what the circle pad is for" is not an excuse for lefties as you're asking them to pay extra money for the same usage as those who are right handed, that excuse just screams 'Entitlement' right there.

Like I said, once you're over 18 you won't be saying the same thing about the controls. If you're using the stand you'll get back cramps, without it and you'll get hand cramps.

I'm kinda stunned there was no Kid Icarus:Uprising or Smash Brothers,since Kid Icarus Uprising wasn't only a sequel of Kid Icarus,but more like a reinvention (hell,you got 2 gameplay segments,one like Sin and Punishment and a on-foot 3rd person shooter mixed with fairly good and funny story).While I see Smash Bros more likely to be on a Wii U Top 10,we gotta agree that porting Smash Bros to the 3DS was a herculean achievement by Nintendo,since they made a FANTASTIC job of porting a console game to a portable with no technical problems (for one the game run smooth as BUTTARRR) and different maps for the game.

I'm sad that Rune Factory 4 wasn't on here, but not surprised; it's often overlooked. It's the only game that has consistently kept my attention. It's nice to choose between building, hunting, exploring, farming/animal husbandry, dating/relationships, etc. ^_- I like being able to choose the pace of my game :P

ToxicWolf1132 Oh, a ton of stuff! If you liked RF2, you'll like RF4. I started the series with RF2 and the main thing that disappointed me was that you had to play as a boy in order to later play as the main characters daughter (if you wanted to be a girl) and the dialogue was pretty stale. RF4 allows you to be a girl right away and the dialogue is much improved; there's even a fairly sophisticated dating system. I don't think anything took a step back from RF2, it's all up up UP! Watch a "Let'sPlay" if you're not sure whether or not to buy it, but it's my personal favourite on the 3DS right now and likely to stay that way for long time ♥

I am completely agree with the first choice, SMT IV is not just one of the best 3DS game I've played, it's one of the best games I have ever, ever played, those strange feelings it made me had I've never experienced before, it was just so special and unique, thats the kind of gaming I want, things off this world, SMT games feel like that. (Also, I think it has an stunningly good soundtrack) By the way, I'm fully agree with the list.

While fire emblem has very very different styles, it has very similar core features. Breeding and marriage to give children specific traits. Attack and counter attacks. Abilities and skills. Sometimes awesome stories (mainly pokemon here as sometimes they can be shit). Specific moves or weapons to equip and items to buy. Basically down to the combat really. While it may not be a bad game, I think you guys could have taken off Etrian Odyssey in favour for games like Kid Icarus, Resident Evil, or Kingdom Hearts. Also, Zelda should not be number 1. It's basically a remake of LTTP with the added portrait gimmick added on. You should have given the number 1 to a more ambitious game.

Did you play ALBW at all? Because that's just not true whatsoever. Even if the overworld is overall the same, the puzzles and dungeons are entirely different. The portrait ability is not a "gimmick;" that along with item rentals and tackling the dungeons in any order make for some of the biggest innovations the series has seen in years. I respect differing viewpoints on the game for what it is, but to call it a remake is 100% false and absurd.

Actually the story is the same. SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get the three pendants, go to lorule (dark world) , save each sage (maiden), then go to middle of the world to fight last boss. Add the fact that the over world is the same and even dungeon ideas it's pretty much a remake

UnitiveGamer A "remake" means you make the same game with minor differences at best. OoT 3D and WWHD are remakes; ALBW is not. The *formula* of the story is similar (so really you didn't spoil a damn thing, especially the plot twist after the end boss), but no, the story isn't the same. By your logic I could try to reason the story being the same for most Zelda titles. And if you think the dungeon ideas are the same what with all the new items and abilities and how they affect gameplay, different minigames and sidequests, puzzle and dungeon designs...I really don't know what to tell you guys. Look at Lorule Castle and please explain to me how that is similar to anything from ALttP. Not to mention, the rental system frees them up to put major upgrades in the dungeons instead, some of which aren't so easy to find. Thus ALBW arguably rewards your exploration more than any Zelda thus far. It's not a remake, period.

well thanks for clearing that up. Anyways lbw has the exact same feel as alttp . Yes most zelda games follow that pattern but they each have a different feel. The portrait gimmick was interesting but not enough to make this feel like a seperate game. I mean instead of adding something new the just used the dark world and called it Lorule. Almost every attribute is the same as alttp. Yes the final dungeon is different but you fight Ganon basically and yes that is true for ost zelda games but you would think for a game with so many similarities to alttp they would maybe change it. My point is there is not enough new to really seperate it from alttp.I REALIZE ITS NOT S REMAKE.

I know a lot of these games use 3d models in them, but are there any games out there that USE the 3D cinematics? I played Rayman on 3ds, and that had cool 3d story environments with 3D effects during camera cut scenes, almost like I was playing a nintendo64 game.

I agree, I own and have played every game on this list and MH3U is definitely among the best for the 3ds(It's within the top 3 for sure, its my personal favorite out of the lot). It's a difficult game and the controls take some time to get used to and that's why I think some people are put off by it. If anyone is considering this game please give it a chance, the camera controls are this way because it gives you full control of the camera, which if you get further into the game will realize it is necessary as the wrong camera angle can be the difference of life and death in this game!!! The adrenaline rush you get from this game is like no other!

Own both, played both. Super Mario 3D Land, I didn't find it overrated, it's extremely well done and I thought the 3D element was the true Essence of 3D Mario games, considering Nintendo was exploring stereoscopic 3D with Super Mario Galaxy back when it was in development. They even planned 3D for the GameCube believe it or not. Super Mario 3D World, agreed. Masterpiece, no question about it. That game is worth all it's praise.

POKEMON X & Y AN EVOLUTION?! Pfffffffffffffft, the only BIG thing it added were MEGA EVOLUTIONS! (And trust me, they were fanservice...) And compared to B2/W2 it had less content and i dont know why did it get so much praise! in MY opinion its worse than RED AND BLUE!!!!!! (Cuz you know, that game is dated and the pokemon designs suck) Man X & Y easily gets a 6/10 for me, also, if I mentioned all the flaws that game had it would easily take me like 8 minutes to write them... :/ and i preordered X/Y....

Ian Ogilvie It almost never worked for me (online multiplayer) everytime i saw a player that was NOT busy he never responded my battle request, and most of the time i got trade (not battle) requests, and I dont really like trading cause I rather BATTLE with strangers than TRADE with strangers cause you cant trust them if they will give you a strong pokemon (High IV and EV points) :|

I always used battle spot or local for battles. I don't trade much though moat I trade are wonder trade. I think they should bring back the icons from black and white so you know if the want to trade that pokemon since you can't talk to each other. I like trading better in gen 5

Fire Emblem:Awakening is really good you can't deny it. Mario Kart 7 it's not a JRPG and it's really fun. Smash, won awards and received really good reviews(and I play it all the time). I could list many other games. I have a PS4(which I like) but I think that the 3DS is better.

The pokemon games are good (main series at least), but the anime is meh. Fire Emblem (Awakening is the only FE i've played) is great, and i'm really looking forward to the day Fire Emblem Fates (upcoming FE) gets released (in English of course, which isn't until early 2016)and Bravely Second (gets released in English) as well.

While both have a similar style, they both have very different gameplay features which I find makes it hard to compare them. While pokémon is kid friendly (not saying it is for kids but kids can play it), fire emblem isn't and I feel like that opens up for more diverse story plots compared to pokémon which has to keep it mellow.

I think the gen 6 Pokémon games are overhyped. I like them, and was super excited for ORAS because Emerald was my favorite in the series, but was disappointed by how easy it was. Fire Emblem: Awakening was by far way better.

I wonder what the criteria were for 'Best' games. While I don't agree or disagree with anything on the lists (since I take this more as a "list of 10 awesome 3DS games" rather than a ranked list), I am surprised to see Zelda on top. Don't get me wrong, I love the Zelda game and I think it's a really tight, well put-together passage, but 1st? Huh. Surprising. I was thinking about getting Kid Icarus but the complex controls and the complaints of hand cramps kept me away. do you get use to the controls as you play the game? any replay value?

AnthonyTheAwesome500 You do get use to the controls, wouldn't call them complex, per se. But the aerial fights do play far better than the ground ones, and it's not a game can play for longer sessions, due to the risk of hand cramps. I've only played it through once. So for replay value, i can't really say for sure.
