@Gmackematix
@Gmackematix Жыл бұрын
@@pandorasbox4238 That didn't happen either. Given that these misrememberings about Mandela only seem to happen in America, while most other countries are aware of him being released and becoming president, maybe it is just shoddy US news reporting. On the day he was released from prison, I think Buster Douglas beat Tyson so maybe that makes Americans less likely to remember his release, but how they have blocked out his entire South African presidency, I have no idea.

They put it in the list before researching, then researched it, found out it's baseless, left it in with a blah blah blah excuse for it being there. They have to put out 6 videos a day. @jonathanperry8331
@jonathanperry8331 Жыл бұрын
Yeah I remember when I discovered that trick. You go down the hill near the starting line and hit the boost and jump and I flew off on time and realize I think I could land on the other side of the track. After some practice I was able to do it all the time. That's a long race and it gives you a half-track advantage. It's a big risk if you miss though.

@@jonathanperry8331 That's Mario Kart 64 though. I think it can only be done on Mario Kart 64 NOT on Mario Kart for SNES. Kart 64 does have rails though so you actually have to jump the rail to pull it off. Its like on Wario Stadium at the beginning of the course you can jump over the wall to cut half the track. You can do this on every lap as well.

0:53 This is the exact reason for the "Mandela Effect" For every, single incorrectly remembered moment, there was an wrongly impersonated ( likely due to legal reasons, not being allowed to say the exact word ) imitation to go with it; which because funny, became *_more_* widely remembered than the original line. That or just misremembering things due to adrenaline/emotion. Here are those moments I can remember that caused all of the confusion. ORIGINAL: Blair Witch - "I am so sorry" Funny Mockery: Scary Movie - "I am so scared" ORIGINAL: Silence of the Lambs - "Hello..." Funny Mockery: Cable Guy ( and several others ) - "Hello Clarice" ORIGINAL: Star Wars - "No, I am your father" Funny Mockery: Tommy Boy "Luuuke. Luuuke. I am your faaaatherrr"

The irony is, as much of a fan of the Mandela Effect theories that surround the phenomenon, the namesake incident isn't one that has ever bothered me. It's a simple case of "I distinctly remember Mandela winning the presidency AFTER he was released from prison. So how could he have died while in prison?"
@Peter_1986
@Peter_1986 Жыл бұрын
A lot of Mandela Effects have a basis in reality - if lots of people discover that they have the exactly same type of memory of a certain event, then it is justified to ask _why_ they have that specific shared false memory. This is sometimes because that memory _was_ true and then got a real-life change, or because it is _almost_ just like the false memory. For example, there _actually do_ exist issues of "Berenstain Bears" that are misspelled as "Berenstein Bears" - even Angry Video Game Nerd showed an issue like that in one of his videos on Cinemassacre a couple years ago, and started explaining that some issues were misprinted - and the zodiac sign Capricorn _is_ sometimes depicted as an actual goat instead of a seagoat. And the line "Mirror mirror on the wall" is definitely real; that line exists in almost all versions of that story except for the American Disney movie.

Finally a Mandela Effect video that points out that "Hello Clarice" is simply in the NEXT movie in the film series, and is truly just people most likely misremembering!! Its still Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal, plus most people have only seen Silence of the Lambs so of course they're going to attribute it to the one they've seen. Honestly its a fun line to quote, so much so it was in kids shows like *_Fairly Odd Parents!_* That's where I and many others as kids learned it, completely detached from its source material which is something that should absolutely be taken into account of why its so misremembered!! It should also be noted that once there is a proven example of how something could be misremembered, it should _no longer_ be considered a Mandela Effect. Why? The whole concept of Mandela Effects stem from the idea that this other memory comes from a timeline spitting or multiple universes colliding into one another, thus there has to be _no reasonable explanation_ in the *here and now* for why people are remembering something "wrong"

Many people swear they can remember a movie named Shazam with Sinbad (and no, i don't think a movie with a different title and a different actor is enough reason for mistake) and they want Sinbad to confess he made it (which he denies). But the paradox is that IF Sinbad admited doing it, then it would no longer qualify as a mandela effect, but merely a case of lost media. Personally i believe "something" must be going on... i just don't know what. Remember, not sharing the same memory as others doesn't disprove the mandela effect, after all that's the supposed nature of it (a discrepance in memory-reality that will not affect everybody the same way).

With the John Denver plane crash, people may also be remembering a different plane crash that involved Payne Stewart. Stewart's light plane suffered a failure to pressurize, causing all onboard to succumb to hypoxia. The plane ran out of fuel and crashed into a field, not a mountain, but since Stewart was also a celebrity who died in a plane crash, people may misremember that one with John Denver's crash.

People thinking Nelson Mandela died in the 80s or 90s must be a very American thing. I’m from Europe and everyone I know, no matter their age, remember that Mandela died in 2013.

And by the way, you yourself have false memories of things all the time, just like literally everyone else in the world. You come off as rather smug and condescending when you blame normal false memories, which EVERYONE experiences, on "dementia".

Wouldn't really say the "life is like a box of chocolate" is a mandela effect the same goes for other movie quotes it simply works better to say it like that when you quote it.

other quotes like do you feel lucky punk we shorten it to sound better and in the dirty harry sequel magnum force at the the start clint Eastwood say do you feel lucky so that could be the confusion for that one

Most of these are not examples of the Mandala Effect. Just because you misremembered a word or two in a quote doesn’t really qualify. Darth Vader saying “Luke, I am your father” is not a Mandela Effect, it’s just what was commonly acknowledged. I believe there are real ones out there, but this list is just WatchMoJo on their bullshit for another video.

As usual with a so called mandela effect video they're always a bit of reach. Everyone always puts their own interpretation on things when quoting pop culture and the like. Sheesh. I'm Batman it's true. I tell my kids all the time it's because I'm Batman - Ok teenage and grown up kids but if everytime I said it I went... I AM BATMAN!!!! at the top of my lungs it's either good parenting or yours truly having a stretch for scaring children 😂 Mandela Effect my arse 😎✌
