If you were into Horror Movies back then, Creepshow is a true masterpiece to watch. I saw some old footage on how they put that movie together, as it concerns the gore that was involved. Nathan Grantham's corpse, coming up out of his grave, is a prime example as to how everything was done from scratch (so to speak). The costume for that storyline was painstakingly put together, and they did plenty of shoots and re-shoots, to get everything just right. Same thing for the story "The Crate", which is the fourth story in that same movie. The people that had to wear those costumes went through a lot of effort, and must've been very hot inside of those costumes, which were quite thick, not to mention the facial gear that they had to wear, in order to look like the monsters that they portrayed. Just give me movies like this, with no CGI, anyday, and It'll be fine.

People who say action movies are bad for kids are full of shit. I grew up on all of these. I first saw Robocop when I was seven, and it's been my favorite movie ever since, and I turned out fine. Hey, I saw The Terminator in theaters when I was 4 years young and Gremlins and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade when I was 9 and Robocop at 7 and The Lost Boys, twice at 7 and Die Hard at 8 and Batman at 9 and Miami Vice episodes, Dallas and Dynasty.....when I was a child and I turned out fine. It's the viewpoint that you have to establish at a young age the difference of reality versus fiction, real-life vs. fantasy. Everybody enjoys a good joke, now and then, that good for a laugh. When, those lines start to blur is when you worry.

Growing up as a teenager in this decade I can agree with this list I just think Predator should be higher. My all time favorite action film. The idea of an alien hunter coming to earth to hunt our best soldiers was just a mind blowing concept. As a hunter myself - knowing there is something stronger smarter and more advanced than you hunting you has to be terrifying

I think Escape from New York and Big Trouble in Little China should have been on on the list or at least have an honorable mention. Two are two fantastic 80's action films in my opinion especially Escape from New York.

Although First Blood is a classic, I believe it should've been replaced with Rambo II instead. I like First Blood as much as the next guy, but I think that Rambo II is a better action film than its predecessor.

lol cgi itself is not a problem. using it to cover up lack of story is the problem.

CGI is not the problem and in most cases makes films look better and allows for better scenes. Problems come when it’s used to cover up a trash movie. Looking at you gravity.
