For me Adrian has always been an essential essence of Maiden. He was massively missed when he left. You only see that when you hear Brave New World after his absence. A truly great song writer and musician.
@LeandroDelPrete3 жыл бұрын
Exactly my thoughts. From No Prayer from the Dying on, you can see Harris taking over Iron Maiden's musical structure, and songs became a little more crude and simple. Even epic songs like Fear of the Dark and Sign of the Cross were simple and kinda raw. Now if you compare that with Adrian's compositions, you can see big difference.

Couldn’t agree more - Steve really seemed to get “lazy” with his songwriting. I hate to say that, because he can write whatever he wants, but I feel Adrian provided a creative push in the songwriting department. Also, if Adrian hadn’t left they wouldn’t have had to hire Jannick…

Yeah Brave New World for me is probably the biggest come-back album I know of =) Maiden without Adrian is not the same or as good, sure Fear of the dark was a decent album but the rest is not even worth listening to for me, some of the songs from the first album is good too I guess , but for me it really starts with Killers and peaks at Somewhere In Time, what an amazing album , EVERY SONG on that album is awesome. If you have not heard Somewhere In Time in a long time, listen to the whole album in one go, such an amazing album =)

@@LeandroDelPrete absolutely particularly when you consider that NPFTD is easily the weakest album they did with Bruce. Janick's stage moves still divide opinion but I have no problems. I think he actually energised Dave and Adrian since if you look at them in the 80's they were almost too static. It's a nice story also since Janick was on the verge of packing up being a musician just before he played on Bruce's Tattooed Millionaire solo album and then subsequently got the Maiden gig. Adrian brought a lot to the table, much more than what he got credit for. He really exploded writing-wise in Somewhere in Time (Wasted Years, Stranger in a Strange Land, Sea of Madness). Also on 7th Son where his collaboration with Bruce peaks. But I suspect there was some friction in this album, coming from Harris, perhaps envious about too much creative input from the others. The story of him messing with Adrian's Can I play with Madness is pretty well known, and I think him leaving the band after this was no coincidence. Real pity because his emotionally rich and intelligent writing perfectly complemented Steve's powerful "macho" approach to music. We love both combined, and for quite a while we got to enjoy it.

He definitely is my inspiration as well! So much that I need to be careful not to mirror his style too much!

Canzoni come Stranger in a Strange Land e Loneliness of a Long Distance Runner mi commuovono fino ad oggi.

I'm missing his solo of "The Final Frontier"! That's his best 👌 Also on the solo records of Bruce he did some amazing ones 😍
@LeandroDelPrete3 жыл бұрын
You're right, it's a fantastic solo! Adrian's got so many good solos I couldn't fit them all. Please check Part 2 video, I'm sure you're gonna like it. About Bruce's solo career, I love King in Crimson and The Tower. Great solos from Mr. Smith.

@@LeandroDelPrete Yes that's definately true! 🙌 I really adore the fantastic solo from "Man of Sorrows" from the Accident of birth record. It's the same quality as Final Frontier. Never heard notes fitting so perfectly and beautiful to the chords underneath. 👍 ... oh I haven't seen the second one. Will have a look. Greets 🤟
