It is how I found Beloved Playa Mujeres, which just happens to be our favorite vacation resort. I finally did it! We booked secrets Maroma beach!!! We were in between that and cap cana and decided Maroma beach. That preferred beach club sold me. Iv been shopping since before covid so glad we are going in June!!!

all i got to say I’ve been to many resort Secrets Maroma Beach is the most fun i have ever had it was none stop, great food, entertainment team was great, excursions on the beach and a live sports bar at night

I realize you probably made this video before all the cutbacks and closures happened at Beloved. It’s important to note these changes happened only a few weeks ago. Myself I booked a flight package in advance which meant I prepaid for my trip. They closed 60% of their bars and reduced breakfast service as well as adding more restaurant closures for dinner. Beloved is a small resort, so this is a big deal. I booked a penthouse room and they actually removed an amenity that went specifically with that room. They didn’t honor it for my older booking. What I received was significantly reduced from what I was sold when I bought my vacation package. This easily qualifies as bait and switch. Which there’s clearly no protections from in Mexico as we have in the U.S. Please rethink endorsing Beloved with the current situation that is happening at the resort. Natura Bar is closed. Lupita Bar is closed. La Victoria is now only open upon request, yet they post open hours. This is misleading. A la carte breakfast options were reduced. They increased restaurant closures for dinner. One hour of private bartending removed as room amenity with Penthouse bookings.

a bit surprised an excellence property didn't make the list. I know Beloved is part of that collection, but I'm surprised one didn't make the list given your affinity for them in the past. Why did they not make the list this year?

As an avid fan of the Excellence resorts, there is a new hierarchy going on within the brand. Namely, unless you are a Diamond tier returning guest you are paying more money for a now crowded, slightly understaffed property. The staff that is present, do an amazing job... but recently a debate on what dinner attire should be (I'm team semi-formal for dinner) whilst others want to dress in shorts for dinner, which takes away some of the ambiance of the experience. A lot of the nighttime shows, which are enjoyable, are cookie cutter of other resorts and after a few trips, start to become a little stale. Then, when you spend more for a few more extras, it feels like small timers are always counting down. A prime example is the dinner on the beach, which will get you a 30-45 minute musician playing for you through your appetizer and will likely be walking away as the main course comes. These little things start to add up and it results in the brand starting to feel not as pristine and optimal for the amount you are paying. In short, for the Excellence to remain as such, they need to reestablish their rules and if the guest is not willing to go with the program, they will know to go to Hard Rock for the next time!

As always, thank you for bringing all your information, Vanessa, but I wanted to add that I am always very specifically looking for superior places to snorkel from the beach front at the property and I would appreciate it if you have any information about this per venue in the future,that said, I have been to secrets in Riviera Maya, and I have to tell your viewers that if they are snorkelers, it is absolutely phenomenal for snorkeling! Not to mention, it was a fantastic all inclusive! Not cheap. But absolutely fabulous!

Hi Vanessa, Great video. I love your new picks, and coincidently, I have been thinking about Greece as well. Mexico is getting very pricey. I notice that some former favorites are not on the list . No doubt that's due to the lack of consistent service, which is my complaint with the Excellence Brand. Please bring this video back next year. I always enjoy it and it's very helpful.

We flew with Aeroflot JFK to Moscow (9 hours) and Moscow to Male (9 hours) and it was much more reasonable. Also Maldives is almost half price during the rainy season, we had 1 day of all day rain. We went in September of 2019 and it was 6k for week with flights, seaplane, and in over water bungalow room AI at one of the bigger resorts Kuredu. I'm sure its gone up. And it might be a better option for non/minimal drinkers since many resorts off full board at a much cheaper rate,

Nice video. That Maldives resort looks very nice, and at $1,200/nite for their most expensive room, it isn't horribly expensive either. Would 7 or 8 nights be enough time to fully enjoy all the resort has to offer - seeing as it is about 20 hours to get there and 23 to get back to NYC, we don't expect to go there more than once.

We have been to over 10 adults only all inclusive resorts. I was not WOW'd by the BELOVED PLAYA MUJERES. It was nice, we had a great time but I felt the resort rooms needed to be updated. We loved Excellence El Carmen better and also Secrets Moxche.
