So, getting to visit several different countries looks good on paper but, in 98% of the time, you don't have any time to actually see anything of said country except for the highly touristed cruise port. At least at an all inclusive you can take some time,rent a car,just get out there and visit. 3 cruises on 2 different lines with 10 day itinerary was enough...back to flights and actually experiencing another place. Keep up the great work Vanessa! Thank you for what you do

Hi Vanessa, great video as usual! I will stay a resort boy for now! $1k more in fees is a lot for most people! Thin walls? Nobody wants to hear other people's bathroom noises right?

Hi Vanessa, I admire your courage in taking on a large cruise ship. Based on our travel preferences, I think you might find a smaller, more intimate cruise to be right up your alley, especially one that visits multiple countries. It's thrilling to collect those passport stamps! While we usually opt for all-inclusive resorts annually (and by the way, your channel has been incredibly useful, hence the subscription), we choose to cruise every few years to explore new regions efficiently. You'll notice that a lot of the issues you talked about with big ships-like long waits for elevators, the hassle of long lines during embarkation and debarkation, and the overwhelming party atmosphere-just aren't as prevalent on smaller vessels. And like you, we believe a balcony room is essential for that serene experience, offering a private spot for enjoying a drink or watching the sunrise and sunset. Smaller cruises tend to focus more on the destinations and excursions rather than just the shipboard experience, though the importance of the ship's amenities and dining can't be understated-we love indulging in excellent cuisine. Also, some cruise lines offer pricing similar to all-inclusive resorts, which means no shocking bills at the voyage's end. On another note, we just got back from Excellence Oyster Bay in Jamaica. The experience was nothing short of fantastic, and the locals were wonderful. We're already planning our return trip. Safe travels and happy cruising! Craig & Lindsay

Flights to Mexico are specifically insane right now for by me! It’s now getting cheaper to go to Jamaica and other islands. I notice that KZbin changed their algo too - i love your page and check it out everytime I am going to travel. The shorts help boost the page. Not sure if you’ve tried! Hi,Vanessa. We cruise 3 times a year. You did a great job explaining the cruise experience. The newer ships like Royal Caribbean have a better elevator set up, A little tip, embarkation day is the worst for elevators. You can walk to the front or rear of the ship to catch an elevator, and it is definitely less crowded. We now tend to stay on board on port days and enjoy the ship and its amenities( you definitely can get good deals on the amenities massage etc) Depending which island we are at we may get off to eat really good authentic food from that island. And yes the balcony is a great option. Thanks for sharing.

We have done a few cruises and some of the things are true for us too, we found a light layers work for evenings. Additionally we had a small breaks and everyone does try and cram 7 days vacation into 4 days. We have found that certain lines NCL/Celebrity and Virgin were all less TIPHINT heavy. Virgin staff don't ask for Tips at all on the 2 sailings we had. We have stayed away from rigid dining and prefer a more relaxed dinner.

We really don't like the new giant cruise ship cruises - just too many people in one place and getting on and off the ship for very over-crowded excursions is painful. The only cruising we plan to do in the future is on smaller ships in places where the ship functions as transportation taking you from place to place during the night.

Wonder what cruise you were on? I’ve been on two cruises and never heard noise at night or in the hallways. We always get off the ship at ports . For us it’s all about the destinations not the ship. You must not have gotten the drink package . 7 night cruises are way more relaxing .

Which cruise line were you on? I’ve been on many Carnival cruises and rarely hear much from the adjacent rooms. Parting: If possible part on at least the second floor. It will help protect your care from flooding New Orleans: Use the taxis there.

I went on 2 cruises and didn't not find be a nightmare on embark or disbark. Depends on size of cruise ship too and port don't go on a mega ship! I agree with the extra costs but you can avoid those if you choose cruise with lots of ports stops. Also if you get a really good deal on your cruise you can afford extra spending

Elevator tip: go up to go down and go down to go up
@bronzefox903515 күн бұрын
If you are new to cruising, definitely use a passport and not a birth certificate. The birth certificate line getting off the ship is looong. Also, you can have your luggage taken down for you if you leave it out in the hall the night before. We cruise 4 times a year and we have never had any issues with missing luggage. If you take your own luggage and it is heavy, you are either waiting forever for an elevator or you have to luggage it up or down several flights of stairs. We have always been off the ship and in an Uber withing 7 minutes of leaving our cabin. Don't lose your sea pass card. You need it to get off the ship. That is how they take roll.

Eeek Vanessa!! Yes you learned the hard way. However, I think you should try Virgin voyages. It sails out of Miami and everybody I know that has been on that ship has said it’s great. It’s all- inclusive and there are no kids allowed. So definitely quieter. The other ships you should try is Royal Caribbean. I’ve never had a state room where I heard people’s conversations in next-door. Also, once you find a cruise line that you like, get in on their loyalty program. Any other questions feel free to ask me. I’ve been sailing for over 40 years. Thanks for the video!❤️✈️
@Passport_Pages15 күн бұрын
Oh Wow Diane! You're the cruising guru 😊 Thank you so much for all your advice. Are you in any loyalty programs? Always value your feedback as we have similar preferences ☺️
@dianeschroeder398015 күн бұрын
@@Passport_Pages yes I am in the Royal Caribbean program. I am diamond plus. We get really good perks such as I get six free drinks per day. That way you don’t have to buy a drink package, which is extremely expensive. Also, I like to stay in suites and I mean big ones because I’m spoiled, but you’ll never hear anybody talking or making noise or no kids running around. Also on the mega ships, they have coastal kitchen, which is like eating at a specialty restaurant every night and it’s free. Also, you get your drinks for free during the day. If you’re gonna book that you have to book it out probably a year to a year and a half to get the best price. I would highly recommend that kind of a program for yourself and your husband as always, feel free to ask any questions whenever you want.
