Hey bro thank you so much man it's been going good the last couple of weeks I think I got 500 subscriptions in the last 3 weeks or so because I'm putting out content you can't build your channel when you're not doing videos for 6 months at a time or so it's just a matter of where you put your time so I'm enjoying doing these types of videos folks like you are very encouraging so I'm going to keep it up. I just got the David Bowie half-speed Masters in today going to do a video on that comparison. I got some new outer sleeves I'm going to do an inner sleeve outer sleeve video. I've got three stacks of records against the wall for my rare record videos.

You and David really are doing a great job in helping us who are starting building our collection to find great pressings, not the most expensive. So many great bands and artists, I really missing America, mentioned this in Davids videos too Love them so much, debut album is a really killer and all in all I love their 2 voices the most from every band I know and in total they have so many amazing songs incl. The Last Unicorn Soundtrack. Even their live LPs from the 70s are amazing, these 2 guys really could sing. I love all of the band you mentioned but America is even before Dobbie Brothers, Crosby...., ManfredM and Steely Dan, and this is saying something. Is there something that I´m missing about America? They rarely getting mentioned when it comes to these 10s, is it maybe lost in translation that me as a german doesn´t get? Songs to simply in lyrics... Nomatter, I love both of their voices so much that that even when they sing only lalalala I´m amazed by them lol
@RocknRonni Жыл бұрын
I think as far as the band America is concerned it's just a matter of taste. the few folks that are doing the videos they're not a top 10 because there's just so many good bands. but I will tell you my son he loves America That's one of his favorite bands so if he was doing the video he'd probably have America in his top 10 just like you ❤️ thank you so much for your feedback most appreciated.

Great collection of records Ron. Nice that you mentioned Grand Funk Railroad that is often absent from the rankings. The ''Closer To Home'' copy I got is a reissue released on the Music On Vinyl Label which i bought in the year 2019 or so.., and even though i do prefer the ''analog'' sound of other GFR records (such as e.g., some original LP's released on Capitol + a copy of ''We Are An American Band in transparent orange version) that i also have in my collection, i have to admit that they did a great job at Music On Vinyl. Take care

Noticed you've hit 6k subscribers so many congratulations Ron and very well deserved. Regarding your Doobie Bros album i have the Speakers Corner version which sounds superb and at a good price. Also purchased Santana's 'Caravenserai' album from the same company which also has an amazing sound. However what annoys me is that the UHQR version of Steely Dan's The Royal Scam is going to retail >£220 (approx. equivalent $260) which, i believe, is substantially higher than almost all other territories for example the U.S retails it at $150. It is typical of 'rip-off' Britain.

I just got that Run Out Groove Morphine album. I also have the 2011 Light in the Attic single LP, but WOW! The ROG 2-LP is frigg'n AWESOME! Stunning sonics, blows away the single LP. I've had that Zappa box forever, DAMN good stuff! I have almost everything he's done. I like more of his later songs, definitely the more guitar oriented albums rather than just the silly stuff. One that many skip over but I feel it is one of his best is Ship Arriving too Late to Save a Drowning Witch. There is some GREAT guitar stuff on that!

Hello Ron, Love your Chanel! So can you share your Japanese Supplier(s) that you purchase your Japanese pressings from? Thanks so much for all you do! Spin On!!
@RocknRonni Жыл бұрын
As far as the Japanese suppliers go they're all pretty good and I bought most of these records 8 to 10 years ago that I have now. I haven't bought records out of Japan from on eBay for many years now. Japanese sellers who grade their records excellent are near mint mostly flawless and near mint means near mint even excellent minus they'll still be good very beautiful near mint. But when buying from eBay if you have experience you just have to make sure the guy's an experienced seller. For a while I did buy a lot of records here probably 7 years ago a lot of records from face records out of Japan they always start their auctions out really low and you might I was getting some really good deals on a lot of records and I was reselling them to put a little money in the PayPal so I could buy some Kevin Gray remasters but the prices are going up but you can still find some good deals for your personal use. The best way to purchase records on eBay out of Japan is just have patience take your time and eventually the record you want to get you'll get a good deal on it.

It's not a thing. I have confirmation from so many people that communicate with me on my videos that say yes Ron, I've come to the same conclusions. I've got the same records. I hear the same things, because it's not hard to do. That's why the records that sound better and are in short supply they cost a lot. Thanks for giving me your insights on this topic much appreciated and thanks for liking the video. ❤️

Ron, what are the "good value records" for Hendrix? Are they under the Hendrix Family moniker? I'm not interested in the UHQR's at this point. Thanks.
@RocknRonni Жыл бұрын
No no UHQR is not any kind of a value whatsoever in fact it's well I did a video about it let's just put it that way. Yes after the family has taken over all the records are great. Now this is going to depend on how many Jimi Hendrix records you own for $150 analog productions has an 8LP box called Jimi Hendrix experience. I've owned it for years I got it back in 2001 when it first came out. it is phenomenal The sound all the music on these eight records you can get for the same price as one UHQR I've recommended the record and two individuals have gotten back to me and said it was the best investment that ever made instead of that UHQR. And like I said the two LPs the new ones valleys of Neptune, first rays of the new rising Sun, people hell and angels any of the recent remasters by George Marino.

@@RocknRonni thanks, is that 8 LP set in a purple box on the Legacy label?
@RocknRonni Жыл бұрын
@@KoolKatDave I do believe there's only one eight LP box it is purple mine is purple Paisley it was out of print for many years and I do believe it is back and print now. The price has gone up a lot but eight records is a lot in one box and it's done so beautifully.

@@RocknRonni "McDonald’s leaning toward pop and jazz didn’t fit Johnston’s image of the band. Now with three singers and songwriters in their ranks, Johnston began to feel alienated from the band that he had co-founded. The initial sessions for 1977’s Livin’ on the Fault Line featured Johnston’s contributions, but soon after, Johnston decided to leave The Doobie Brothers." Good list, glad Grand Funk got included.

@RocknRonni Жыл бұрын
Well this is kind of what I do. I make a lot of videos about what record sound best. people that have been watching my channel for many years come to appreciate the fact that when I make a video I give them a lot of information. I just don't show records and say I like this one and fillimg a hole and this is one from a thrift store. blah blah blah. That's not my style. That's going to be a 5-minute video. sorry I got a little long winded in places and turned it into more than just a top 10 video you are correct. sometimes that's just how it goes. Most everybody tells me how much they like the videos and I'm doing a great job. And how much they're always learning. when they watch one of my videos. You're the first one that I can remember that has said I'm doing a little bit too much. most people keep that to their self I guess. I do appreciate your opinion because it's harder to tell the creator of the video you would appreciate something different than just praising the video and you're doing it because you care about the content. so that is most welcome my friend. ❤️
