I am from Denizli. We are also natives of the Aegean region. Before going to a city, people immediately check whether there is a sea or not, otherwise they do not go there. However, Denizli is a historical, forested, mountainous and cultural city. If you get bored in Denizli, you can enter the forest area 10-20 minutes away. You can also visit many cultural areas such as the Temple of Apollo, the God of Wine, Leodicea, Hierapolis, Tripolis and Colossae Ancient City. There are also magnificent waterfalls and lakes hidden in every corner of Denizli. You can feel like you are in the Alps at Karcı Mountain, Honaz Mountain, Akdağ, Babadağ and Sandras Mountain.

Hello! How many days do you recommend to stay in Denizli? and are all those spots near the vicinity of Denizli?
@plantpoweredcyclist7978
@plantpoweredcyclist7978 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Enrique! I think it depends on how long your trip will last. If it’s short then I would go to Pamukkale and Aphrodisias. Pamukkale is a straight shot and easy to get to from Denizli. Aphrodisias is not. If your budget allows for it, I’d rent a car for a day and if not, you can take a minibus from Denizli to Tavas and from there hitchhike! If time is no issue then choose what extra sites you’d like to take in from the vid! Good luck and enjoy!

Is denizli better than istanbul for living?
@plantpoweredcyclist7978
@plantpoweredcyclist7978 3 жыл бұрын
I think that has an unlimited amount of variables! Size of the city, traffic, cost of living, things to do, location, etc. I never lived in Istanbul, but enjoyed my few visits. I loved being near beautiful hiking in Denizli and enjoyed a much more calmer, quieter city. Needless to say, I was awoken often very early in the morning by the mosques :). I loved the endless amounts of events and activities going on in Istanbul, where you wouldn't find as much in Denizli. Istanbul is a huge melting pot of cultures: the divide of Europe and Asia. You can catch a flight Internationally anywhere whereas most flights from Denizli connect to there or Ankara. So many pros and cons, it's up to you and the life style you live to know which is best for you. I wouldn't mind living in either for a bit of time, but in the end, I prefer a more relaxed and closer to nature kind of outlook so Denizli would probably get the win in my book. If you had asked me this question 10 years ago, I probably would have chosen Istanbul just based on having a lot of things to do and my more going out and partying type of mentality!

Thanks bro! Appreciate the compliment! I wish I could advise on a good hotel, but I never stayed at one as I had an apartment my entire stay. I also do not know of any hostels either. However, a quick search on airbnb and/or trip advisor might be worth your time. As far as renting a car, it'll be much easier and more efficient to get to many of the sites as a few don't have public transport reaching them such as the Güney Waterfall, Sakizcilar Waterfall and Aphrodisias (I hitchhiked). Plus, the virus isn't getting better there at the moment and seems to be calling for a lockdown on weekends. Public transport to other sites might not be running as frequently either especially to lesser known sites like Kaklik Cave, which at the time I think only had 1 or 2 departures from the main bus terminal. I'm a huge fan of çiğköfte and if you go to Camlik Park, walking up the main street (Camlik Blvd) there are many restaurants and along the way you can find one of my favorite çiğköfte restaurants. I'm also plant based so there are only a handful of Turkish dishes which work with my life style, so by checking out that area, you'll find unlimited options! Hope this helps! Enjoy Denizli!
