If I don’t know scales like the Phrygian scale or a lot of theory. Should I learn that first. I’m a metal player mostly and can play anything thrown at me. Been playing for 26 years but never really Got into theory til recently but want to improve my lead playing. Just curious on the direction I should take. I enjoy your lessons. Thanks.

For metal, If you have a paramteric eq that can only let you touch 4 frequencies, what would they be? What would you boost or adjust? I just want to get an idea as a starting point in my eq.

Actually no, I'm not tired of practicing technique drills. I've been religiously working some of your technique videos for the past couple of months and my technique has improved sooooooo much.

500k 🤣 anyway he has an Amazing technique, but he didn t have created any memorable tune. He s a great teacher and a great musician, but surely not comparable with govan, Gilbert, malmsteen, howe, Friedman, becker and so on
@voronOsphere2 жыл бұрын
@@Hadri_ART I'm gonna look into Bernth's album and see if that's true. I've heard some brilliant riffage from him on this channel, also. I'm not even that interested in the ridiculously fast stuff. But he has plenty of awesome mid speed stuff that's very musical and catchy.
@Hadri_ART2 жыл бұрын
@@voronOsphere yes he s awesome, no doubt, i m saying that "the greatest guitar players of all time" have changed the guitar world. Bernth didn t already have that kind of impact, just this. But for sure is a great player, i like him

Phrygian dominant is just magical when it comes to writing metal riffs, with the right tone it’s just beautiful. Soloing over it is just orgasmic and never ending fun

Beautiful Man! 2:00 in -- Love the fluid movements and precision licks! Since I have an short, arthritic pinky finger that is bent inward at the joint closest to the tip of my finger, it's almost impossible for me to play a lot of your speed licks-- my pinky finger simply will not stretch that far. My third finger can stretch just as far as my pinky and over the years i have compensated by using mostly three fingers on solos and riffs. Its very limiting but on the bright side, I have developed my own style. I hunger to play your licks. I will never give up. Guitar is therapy. Man, You are a patient teacher. You're a humble and generous person. That's why I am patron. Thank you.

Chris Broderick actually invented and patented a special thumb pick specifically for this. He’s multi finger two handed tapping and seamlessly transitions right into an arpeggio sweep and likewise back to multi finger two handed tapping and then seamlessly goes right into alternate picking. I have one of these picks and this thing is for real🤘🤘🤘

Dear BERNTH, we need more workouts like yours on KZbin. It’s so much more fun and encouraging to practice along with someone. Almost no one else does them. Please consider doing a: -Full Rhythm Workout -Vibrato Workout -Chords Workout -Hybrid Picking Workout -8 Finger Tapping Workout -Slapping Workout -Harmonics Workout -Muting Workout I would happily add all of these to my practice routine, and I’m sure they would be very helpful to a lot of people. Keep shredding, you’re the best teacher on KZbin when it comes to anything technique-related!

Just tested out Lick #6. I'd argue that this particular one would actually profit from playing it with economy picking instead of alternate picking. The accents come very naturally that way. Of course this would somewhat defeat the idea of the exercise but this exact style of licks is why I wanted to learn economy picking in the first place ;)

I’ve been using this as my morning routine for the last few days and I love it!! Granted, I’ve really only been working on the second one as I feel it fits my playing style and my needs the most right now. 30mins a morning just on this, and I feel like I have a long way to go, despite making leaps and bounds from when I started the drill 😂 these are so oddly complex and I love the nuances in each of them pushing me to be my own player and enjoy the morning! Thank you Bernth!

7:45, Used it for a nice transition back into my lydian augmented mode to go back into melodic minor for my chorus. Though I added some sixteenth notes at the end of that quarter so my next licks don't sound like bar licks lol. Also a few thirty second notes for some variation and transposed it to fit my chord and scale. It's a nice one and learning a lot of tricks from you. Any chance that lick package is still up?
