Top 10 Badass Winter Soldier Scenes

With the exception of Loki perhaps, never before has a Marvel side character received as much love and attention as Bucky Barnes, a.k.a Winter Soldier. And it’s not hard to see why. Fans love Bucky because he is Steve Rogers’ best friend, the only person to befriend and protect skinny Steve before his transformation. As Winter Soldier, a brainwashed weapon in the hands of an evil empire, Bucky has a compelling and tragic story. And it goes without saying that the Steve-Bucky friendship is the highlight of the Captain America movies. Thanks to the growing popularity of Bucky and Winter Soldier, Sebastian Stan, the actor who plays both characters, has one of the most devoted fandoms. Fans are especially drawn to his portrayal of the quietly intense, strong yet vulnerable Winter Soldier. While Winter Soldier might not get a lot of screen time and barely any lines, there is no doubt he makes an impact every chance he gets. Cap vs Bucky (Street fight) should have been at least one of the top 3. I love the way Cap managed to quickly block Bucky's punch with his shield and it made that same sound it made when Thor hit it with his hammer in "The Avengers". I certainly love the way Cap disarmed Bucky when he hopped over that car and kicked the gun out of Bucky's hand while coming back down. Bucky jumping off that truck and punching a hole into the ground after Cap rolled out of the way at the last second was cool. Cap managed to crack Bucky's metal arm with his shield. This fight showed exactly how fast and strong Cap & Bucky are.

Yesss!!! That highway scene is literally one of the best fight scenes in action cinematic history due to the artistically portrayed sequences and the background noise and music. The knife usage was also amazing and different from the other superhero fights because compared to magic and sorcery, this scene only uses mostly hand-to-hand combat. It was just 100% amazing.

And since you were so literal, let me. Not elastic, since the broken portion was removed for the inside and outside to be fixed and replaced. Elastic has a complete opposite meaning in which an object can spring back to normal when stressed. Different from the metal arm. And just in case you interpret mechanics in the wrong way again, I mean it in the way it works. Just because the arm has flexible movement, it does not mean elastic.

What was a well worn trope in most media, seems to be revived or perhaps renewed with marvel and stans characterisation of this brain washed assassin. So many moments won me over whether it be the robot arm, the street fight knife trick, the intense music, the civil war chase and fight against tony, end of the line speech. But I still can’t get over stans face as cap whispers I’m with you till the end of the line, the look of a man confused and overwhelmed with emotion as it triggers something in his grey matter still brings me to tears. He’s up there as one of my fav characters in media and long may it continue.

This was MCU's biggest miss(take). They could have gone with a brilliant romance story-line that had actual substance and history, instead they shoe-horned the Hulk/Black Widow zero chemistry pairing and ignored Betty Ross (makes no sense). Black Widow/Winter Soldier would have made such a good pair on-screen considering how much they have in common. Such a disappointment. The closest thing we could get is a name drop in the Black Widow movie :(

Of course he’s a powerhouse and I love to see Bucky in all his forms but I will never get over how well his first and second confrontations with T’Challa show cases just how skilled, maybe evenly matched the Black Panther is. Bucky has wiped the floor with every other super in his conflicts before but being forced to escape rather than disable T’Challa then escape as well as visibly straining himself on the roof with Black Panther is just *chef’s kiss.* Obviously he’s more concerned with escaping than killing T’Challa but all the same, I wonder how a straight forward fight rather than a tactical retreat would turn out.

A hand to hand combat fight between Bucky and Black Panther, they both are evenly matched in skills. But with the super soldier serum Bucky would have the edge even though Black Panther has the vibranium suit.

Also remember, the Heart Shaped Herb imbues similar, if not more esoteric traits as the serum and T’Challa had taken that on as he had the mantle and suit of the Black Panther for his older/weaker father. The suit certainly helps BP in this and I’d wager a fully “lucid” Winter Soldier (not just scared Bucky) might have faired better if not more efficiently. But really my point was that the fight shown displayed not only Bucky’s raw potential in a non-brainwashed state but the fact that Black Panther being on par physically with someone as strong as Bucky (and potentially Captain America) in a single, short fight is such good character building for them both.

Winter soldier>Bucky When we get the more ruthless scenes where the writers want him to be more villainous and don’t have to worry about us viewing him as a bad guy we get some of the best fights in the series. The easiest comparison is ep 2 fight on those trucks where nobody really gets hurt, there’s quips etc while they’re fighting it’s far more light hearted then ep 3 when he’s meant to be the winter soldier, there’s no joking about he just fucks people up from the moment the fight starts to the moment it ends.

When it came to others who took the serum, he was kicked about like an amateur, even though we've seen Bucky fight superhumans like Steve/BP and saw him take on Iron Man. So yeah, he has been considerably nerfed. I guess the excuse for depowering him is rule number 2.

@@GoldenRayLight when he first went up against the flag smashers it was 3 against 1 and he was expecting to fight regular people so they had the element of surprise where he suddenly had to face multiple people just as strong as he was. And with Walker, Walker is a highly trained soldier (perhaps one of the best since they picked him to be Cap) who was also full on raging, both with grief and the serum (not to mention Bucky was too focused on trying to get the shield back rather than fighting). But in the last ep when he got them one on one he was owning the flag smashers which is why Karli told them to distract him with someone to rescue cause she knew he was gonna beat them. But like you said, his rule number 2 was probably the biggest motivating factor. He even said himself about the "winter soldier still being there" in ep 5 so he's probably terrified of slipping back so he holds back deliberately

Ok, great list if you're just naming the scenes, but this is a ranking so I'll be honest, it's not amazing. Here's my ranking, agree or disagree as you will. I took out the Winter Soldier brainwashing scene because I see it as more sad than badass, and meant to make us feel sympathy for the character. Some of these may seem a bit too low on the list, I think that's a good thing because he just has so many badass moments that in the end, some of both my and your rankings will come down to personal preference. 10. My favorite marvel character! I love him and Loki! I just love Bucky because he wasn't an evil person , he was forced to do those things and he just wants to right his wrongs. 😫😫😭😭 poor baby .

Civil War had 2 great rampages in a row. First, Bucky and Cap fight through a building full of SWAT, then there's an encounter with Black Panther, chase scene on foot, through traffic, and then. After a few scenes of dialog, TWS fights through: Sam, Steve, Tony, Sharon and Nat (Together) then T'challa. Back to back, yeah they're unarmed/armored (Tony had a watch) but that's 5 1/2 Avengers in a row, to get out of the building. And he makes his escape. Just to show the difference between Bucky, Steve's friend, and The Winter Soldier. The Boss fight.

Bucky and Black Panther were the best things that happened in the MCU, they were absolutely badasses and a force to reckon with in the Civil War, after that, they got nerfed quite a lot.

Bucky got so much nerfed .i nearly cried .the real winter souldier was only in captain America winter souldier and civil war. He was trashtrolled in infinty war ,endgame and falcon and the winter soildier.

Bucky Barnes is my favourite MCU character!!! My friends ask me "Why do you always fall for the insane characters?" and I always tell them that there's something so interesting about these types of characters as they're always the badasses, and have interesting motives.....
