The funniest part about that story, is that batman is the one actually telling the story. So it's quite possible that was the closest someone came to take him out.

9:40 The live action Suicide Squad movie destroyed everything that was established in "Mad Love" about Harley & Joker's relationship. Hence, now you got new fans trying to justify Joker's abusive actions as pure love in order to ship them like Bonnie & Clyde instead of taking it as an allegory of real life domestic violence in which the victim is manipulated into coming back for more. A dangerous perception for the younger generation to not get out of such situations.
@thealjohnsonshow21885 жыл бұрын
+jp3813 To be honest, I'm somewhat okay with how the Suicide Squad movie dealt with the Joker and Harley relationship. Deadass, the movie portrayed the relationship as "accurate" like the comics and be rated R (like it should have been), there would have been massive backlash for this movie and more talks about domestic violence. And I don't think WB wanted to take a chance on that. It sucks, but what's done is done.

My picks, for me at least are: 1.) Robin's Reckoning 2.) Perchance to Dream 3.) Beware the Grey Ghost I'll always get the urge to watch them every five years or so. "I Am The Night" is one of my favourites as it has Batman looking over his career as The Dark Knight and wondering if he is doing any good and if he should just give it up after an incident where Commissioner Gorden is badly injured. People never mention how good the music was in this series. It was like the music was it's own character it was so good and would capture a scene and tell you a story. I loved the animations in this series too. The beginning title screen for the episodes were works of art and sometimes they would incorporate it like they did in the Two Face episode when the doctor unravels his bandages to show his face. The animations looks sharper and deeper colors. This series was ahead of its time. An all time great.

Maybe pcp too.. for us users of the dust, we know the thoughts that you think while on it.. all illegal mostly. but normal things are so goddamn slow.. Lets go faster. more drugs! And DC gave them to him, anything he wants. Expecting sales comparable to his DKR 4 book series that everyone has. How else can you explain how bad it is? dust n shrooms n lsd

Not 'All Star Batman' by snyder and others, dumbshit!!!! I love all star BATMAN, thank god dc gave that to another writer. the ROBIN the boy wonder books, when HE says to a traumatized dick(robin), 'I'm the goddamned batman' after he kidnapped him. he also called his vehicle the batmobile, robin thought it was a dumb name.. contradicting himself from dk of the 80's.. telling carrie, 'dick called it the batmobile, something a kid would say." I love all Batman.. mostly, but what he did was make b-man look like a 17 yr old who thinks he's the biggest, baddest motherfucker that ever visited your moms bed. I'm done with you, you damn simpleton ignorant foolish troll. don't talk me, me no talk you anywayz EVERYONE AGREES WITH ME and HATES THAT SERIES. you cant write a worse comic if you tried. maybe YOU can, as we see how stupid you are. The comic's art style was based on the animated series but when they made it for the show it was after the show's redesign during it's final season where the art style was drastically different but Harley is the only character who was still drawn the exact same way. Duuuude!!! P.O.V is hands down the best episode. It was basically a "Gotham Central" episode of how the cops of Gotham view Batman at "work" and how he deals justice. The cops are questioned and eventually there is a mole in GCPD working for the mob. That episode was a child and now as an adult, still holds strong.

Being a hardcore fan of this "definitive" Batman series, I realize how difficult it must of been to pick a top ten. Especially with so many great & unforgettable episodes. However, I think you did a wonderful job. 4 out of 10 of the episodes you listed here, I own WB production cels from. And they still are displayed, in my home, with cherished memories to this very day. Also, both myself, and "my" wife, have made a tradition of watching "Christmas With The Joker" an annual pastime as well. My personal favorite "Joker" episode is, and always shall be, "Joker's Favor". This was also the episode, that I first watched, that included The Joker (*plus introduced Harley Quinn*) Many people don't include "Joker's Favor" to their own lists. I'm glad to see that you did. It's really a stand-out episode, and you explained it quite well. One last mention; "Mad Love". While it most certainly deserves to be included on your list, the only thing that continues to ruin the episode was Joker's new character design. To this day I despise it. It's just awful. Even Bruce Timm has been quoted in saying that it was a mistake. Still, a classic episode taken from that classic one-shot book. Thanks again for bringing back the memories.

They were both dope, I used to watch the Spider-Man animated series on Fox too. That was the Saturday morning cartoons trinity during the 90's.

I gotta agree with Jonathan Vazquez , Batman TAS created Harley, gave us the immortal voice acting of Kevin Conroy & Mark Hamill, and spawned the theatrical release of 1 of the greatest animated Batman movies of all time... Batman: Mask of the Phantasm.!! X-Men is a close 2nd though, It handled the Phoenix and Dark Phoenix sagas beautifully! 👌💯

Excellent upload,AQ. I,too,am a huge fan of Batman The Animated Series and it`s the reason I got (back) into the comic book version of the character. Recently purchased the entire series and am digging it big time!

You kind of forgotten to mention that Heart of Ice won an Emmy for its writing. There are two things that I should mention about the episode Nothing to Fear: First, it introduces the popular line "I am vengeance, I am the night, I am Batman!" and second, the ending of that episode in which Batman infects the Scarecrow's own fear toxin (with Batman appearing as a bat demon), Commissioner Gordon & Harvey Bullock discovering Scarecrow at the office, and Bruce Wayne laying flowers on his parents gravestone which ends with Bruce walking away & we see a shadow of Batman behind him; are my favorite scenes from that episode. The episode Perchance to Dream is considered Kevin Conroy's & Troy Baker's favorite episode of the entire series. The ending to the episode of Cat Scratch Fever shows a human side to Batman. It should also be mentioned that during the recording sessions for The Man Who Killed Batman, the cast & crew laughed at Arleen Sorkin's performance of playing the kazoo during the 'funeral' at the chemical factory. You also forgot to mention the episode Zatanna as well. The episode A Bullet for Bullock won an Emmy for its music. And for some odd reason, one of my favorite episodes when I was young was Showdown, which introduced Jonah Hex.

This series was very well written. That's something that certain new movies could really use...

I loved every one on the list, but one that has always been one of my personal favorites that I never grow tired of is Cape and Cowl.

What a strong List! so many grand memories, My two Honorable mentions would be "Night of the ninja" and "Day of the samurai" It's utterly amazing that these days we can finally acknowledge that it's all more than a kid's show.

Solid list. Every Saturday morning it was this show and a big bowl of cereal on the living room floor! So glad 'Almost Got'Im' was #1. I'll never be able to forget that Killer Croc line.. "I threw a rock at him!.... It was a big rock" 😂😂😂

It’s nice to see an internet show that is actually passionate about what they talk about. Love variant!

Show still holds up in many ways. Damn near every comic show animated or live action (I'm looking at you Supergirl) has copied that perfect illusionary life episode.

I totally agree that every one of your favorites were top shelf. My favorite episode of all time is "I Am the Night" and my runner up is "Feat of Clay parts I & II", hands down. And I agree that there are just too many great episodes to mention. Great list! Love the series since it came out.

Love the jokers favor really captured how creepy and terrifying the joker really is and the way he stares back at him in the car scared the crap out of me when I was younger

Excellent list, definitely a hard task in narrowing down such an amazing show. My only honorable mention for favorite would have to be "Feat of Clay" part 1 & 2. Favorite scene is when Matt confronts Daggett at that town hall meeting and reveals himself as Clay face. Damn all this reminiscing makes me wanna binge some episodes now...

Great List!!!! One episode I would've added on the list would've been A Bullet for Bullock. One of my favorite episodes. I'm glad you have almost got him on the list that's definitely a classic.

Honorable mention could be "Nothing To Fear" for the epic line "I am Vengeance.. I am the Night... I AM BATMAN!". It also delves into Batman's Pysche like not many other do revealing to us his potential greatest fear. It also might be the definitive scarecrow episode as it shows us that if Batman went to a darker place he might just become scarecrow.

I think what I loved most about Joker's Favor was how it took Joker's motivation in The Killing Joke and kinda turned it on it's head. In Killing Joke, Joker says anyone can be just as crazy as he is after just one bad day. In a way he's almost proven right with Charlie Collins in Joker's Favor. However, things don't turn out as wonderful as he thinks they'd be. Charlie pretends to threaten to kill him and even prays on Joker's own fear of going out in an unremarkable way ("No big finale, no final epic battle with the dark knight! All the papers will say tomorrow is that the great Joker was found blown to bits in an alley, besides some miserable little nobody!") It was the perfect revenge and awesome way for a "normal person" having to deal with the Joker to triumph over him. Love that episode!!!

the grey ghost episode is significantly more important when you realize Adam West went through the same thing the character he is playing did from playing the original Batman. Love these writers

I really like Heart of Ice. i don't know if it is my favorite, but i really like it. it makes Freeze a really interesting character. all he do is in order to save his wife. which is strange, because that would mean he is driven by emotion, but he has no emotions!
@AnotherGenericUsername8 жыл бұрын
I am not good with the episode titles but my favorite is Two Face part 1&2, The Trial, and the origin story of Poison Ivy. These three were my first BTAS episodes that I watched when I was a kid. I cherish them dearly.
