Personally, I prefer the two star resorts. To me, staying at a Hilton or somesuch on Samui / Phangan a complete waste. Just the basics. Clean (which is most important). Hot water. AC. Fridge. Comfortable mattress. Extra pillows. Most important however is location. Is the place near or on the beach? Is it near the action. Perhaps do a video on reasonable places, good prices. I stayed bungalow on the beach in Lamai around a decade ago for somewhere 650 to 800 baht range. It was nice, but literally on the beach and had a pool. Another in Chewang, near the Star Bucks, great location, near the action, amazing food all around. Recall it was in the 800 to 950 b range. Also interested in apartments that rent by the month ......... and Air B&Bs.

These resorts are all just by the beaches, they are definitely not cheap though. I like the idea of longer term rentals. always get good ideas from u 😀

The music is quite loud and the commentary is a typical american overdoing it. Super dramatic lol. Quite expensive choices as well. Good review though.
