My favorite absolute which is also my favorite story in comics is Crisis on Infinite Earths. I was fortunate to get it signed by both Marv Wolfman and George Perez. I also adore Kingdom Come (which I have signed by Mark Waid, and I hope one day Alex Ross), New Frontier (which I have signed by Darwyn Cooke), and JLA/Avengers (yes, that is 100% an absolute). I also agree that Long Halloween, Dark Victory, and Haunted Knight are all phenomenal. Being a big GL fan, I of course love Rebirth, Sinestro Corps War, and Blackest Night. I have so many absolutes that I own and love beyond those mentioned above. I agree it is the best way to own a story.

Thank you for sharing this with me! Marv is going to be at wondercon and I’m going to try to get my absolute signed! My heart breaks that I’ll never get the chance to meet some of my heroes who passed to soon. I actually just purchased blackest night! So I’ll just be missing rebirth. I think I’m missing 18 absolutes in total!

I own four absolute edition of DC comics: 1. Absolute Batman: The Court of Owls; 2. Absolute Superman/Batman Vol. 1; 3. Absolute The Dark Knight; 4. Absolute DC: The New Frontier. I'm glad that you also own the Absolute The Dark Knight. The book Collects Batman: The Dark Knight Returns (a great story) and Batman: The Dark Knight Strikes Again (not so great, and please let's not talk about the terrible art). When I started reading the second part of book, it was "digestible" for me. But I have a feeling, from you, that there are comics written by Frank Miller that are much worse than The Dark Knight Strikes Again...just saying and no hurts feelings!

I like that it shows you characters that are crazy popular and characters that are super niche! To me it’s one man’s love letter to the silver age of comics. It is my personal favorite DC story, but I also feel like I get a lot more out of it, now that I have read a lot more.

I love preacher, and think they might have the best design! But I feel like after the Omnis came out and them having the exact same extras, I’m not sure if the art benefits that much going from the omnibus to the absolutes
