Should not have been able to get that giant burger rare, it's not allowed under provincial health rules ..all ground meat dishes - burgers, meatballs, kofta etc must be cooked to medium to prevent food poisoning, even if they grind their own meats... I am a Vancouver chef, and have had my food safe since 1988... And you have to re-certfy every 5 yrs.
