A tip for fighting swan: go into little area where the entrance to the subway is and swan cannot hit you with rocks or anything. you can literally beat him with a pipe pistol that way

@Your Average Gamer More devastating than the fatman isnt really that big of a feat. most, if not all nuclear bombs these days make the fatman and little boy look like fire crackers in comparison. the Tsar Bomba itself was more than 1500x the combined energy of the little boy and fatman at 50 megatons of tnt. no bombs have been made bigger, but its possible to do so, it just the biggest ever detonated thus far.

Here's a suggestion for getting three of the weapons listed early: (1) leave Sanctuary. Follow the water North to the circuit breaker, trip it, then follow the pipe to collect the 44 Magnum. (2) head North past the bandits to the Robotics Disposal Grounds and collect the Fat Man and the nearby Mini-Nuke. (3) Enter the bunker and eject the holotape from the terminal. Use the holotape to activate the robot. Send it to Fort Hagen. Follow it to its destination, allowing it to kill enemies. At Hagen, go to nearby blood bank and collect the Combat Rifle. There you go!

Near tenpines bluff there is a bridge next to skylands flight 1981. There is a gunner camp at the bridge and at the top there is a hardened sniper rifle and a laser sniper. Great early game weapons

The hardened sniper rifle isn't always there at low levels. I went there at level 5 and there was a pipe rifle. There's also supposed to be a combat shotgun in the Skylines flight and it, too, doesn't always spawn at low levels.

There is a Raider in Power Armor over in Lexington that has a Fat Man. It's pretty easy to get around levels 5-8. You can get the Cryolator on Consoles at level 1 if you get Dogmeat and head back to the vault. Go to the room the Cryolator is in and speak to Dogmeat and ask him to find any weapons. He will proceed to pick up the Cryolator out of the case. Just pick it up off the ground, and get the cryo cells from dogmeat.

Tip: In vault 111 when you get dogmeat go to the vault and commas dog meat to find something (be close to the cryolater) he will get it easily then access his inventory and then you have a cryolater early game

Pikmans blade is primarily a stealth weapon the legendary effect is good for taking out enemies you can't one shot. It comes with the stealth blade mod which adds a .5x damage boost to your sneak attack critical damage so no need to invest in blacksmith as it will last you the whole game.

@@L3raje I waited until I had enough caps to buy the Anti Material Rifle and plenty of ammo (I did this by manipulating the Vikki & Vance bug where your chips aren't removed from your inventory, thus giving you infinite caps) got some Recon armour to increase my sneaking, bought a stealth boy, parked my ass up on the ridge near the Great Khan encampment, and sniped the fuckers. It helped that I also raised the guns skill to 100

You can easily use dogmeat to get the cryolater early on since he bypasses the lock. And what’s better is the cryolater requires no perk investments(I think) to fully upgrade, so the only con is that it’s ammo is super rare.

go with rifles or pistols, don't run around like a chicken with its head cut off,try to avoid getting hit and using stimpaks as they make you dehydrated,use vats to constantly search for mines because if you trigger one you will die,dont immediately rush towards diamond city because there's no point and taken over hangman's alley since its the best settlement for survival mode,invest in demolition expert perk trust me grenade are so powerful even at high lvls with full ballistic weave armor grenades can nearly one shot you,avoid weapons like missle launchers and fat mans as there ammo I'd heavy and try to avoid drinking dirty water and eating uncooked food

I only play F4 on Very Hard difficulty, I adore challenges in games, but survival seems more tedious than anything personally. The lack of fast travel just sounds frustrating, but I would like to at least give a try sometime, so this is helpful to take note of.

Grognak's Axe deserves a mention. I got it pretty early on and it made melee combat in this game damn fun. I loved to massacre raiders and wearing power armor you can easily take on death claws with just the axe, even better with psycho and jet. Fucking right I was a chem head in Fallout 4.

One of the best things you can do if you desire to become a stealth character is to go to Drumlin Diner just south east of Concord. From there you can talk to Trudy and always buy a pipe bolt action weapon that has a silencer. This is the earliest and easiest way of getting a silenced weapon even at level 1 since you can't craft silencers early on and the gun is also very cheap so you should have no trouble getting it.

... with any pipe gun, iirc you can craft silencers with one rank of gun nut. which can be level 1. honestly typically start similarly, have the three pipe guns, modded for gunslinger as well as being silenced, early, for some ammo and stopping power variation. the 'rifle' and 'revolver' ones tend to be slow reload and less ammo, but they're stronger than the 10mm pipe pistol.

There's a combat rifle on the roof of Mahkra Fishpacking, it spawns with a 50 cal receiver and a scope everytime, no enemies. You can get it at level 1, also on the way there you can pick up the hazmat suit from Hugo's Hole!😃

Jaberts disposal yard just above grey garden has a mini nuke, bottlecap mine and the potential to have nuka grenades. The cool thing is that the mini nuke will keep re spawning. Over time, you can aquire lots of mini nukes.

Actually, you can have Dogmeat retrieve the Cryolator for you. The downside is that the ammo for this isn't financially justifiable for early gameplay, as it is relatively expensive for lower level characters

Furious effect doesn't stack infinitely. It only stacks about 7 to 10 hits. Meaning you're going to 105% to 150%. Check on the wiki.

Overseers weapon is the best for early game... what do you need? 1. Need 3 fusion cores: Can take 1 from preston and 2 for sentry bot next to sanctuary, there's another one in red rocket cave at beggining. 2. Reach Diamond city 3. Have like 3800 caps (less if you have charisma perks)... can sell everything in Diamond city to have more and more caps until you reach it. Can get it before lvl 15 if you do it fine. Want a better weapon?, can buy Big boy from Diamond city, only need a bunch of caps... same process.

Good early game weapons vary. However I like General Chao`s Revenge, Righteous Authority, miniguns and laser muskets. The General`s sword can be bought at Drumlin Diner for the three gold bars you find in Sanctuary Hills. Righteous Authority is a quest reward. You can get a minigun both at Concord along with Power armor and a laser musket or at US Satellite Station Olivia from Ack Ack.

I saw a video of someone picking up Overseer's Guardian basically immediately after cleaning out the vault and Sanctuary. They made lvl 2 just before reaching Vault 81. But your CHA stupid high (suit, hat, glasses, grape mentats, Gwinnett Stout, etc) and offer the gold bars, chems, etc in trade and you've got it. Prolly the best ranged weapon I've encountered yet (non-DLC).

Interesting list. I've always found the Fat Man to be counterproductive though and its no good in close confines! My loadout is as follows: 1. Deliverer - perfect for stealth, close confine work, and particularly for dealing with low-level critters out in the wilds. Nothing clears out radroaches, bloatflies, and bloodbugs quicker and easier than a Deliverer VATS pass. 2. Le Fusil Terribles - upgraded and with suppressor, this really is an unrivalled all-purpose mid-ranged weapon. Its my "main weapon" and will deal with almost everything in 2-3 shots. 3. Spray n' Pray - this is the SMG for when you absolutely have to kill everything in the area. Not good upclose (it'll cripple your limbs if you're too close), but it's perfect for mirelurks and clearing mirelurk egg nests. 4. Bolt action pipe gun - fully upgraded as a long range sniper i've found this basic starting weapon is as good as any dedicated sniper in a much lighter package.

You can use the Gazebo at Swan's pond to dodge most attacks. Then you just need to huck grenades or go trigger happy. (H2ODelirious did it, not me)

You can also get a police baton in vault 111 once you leave the pod. When you walk by the power generator and see a rad roach creeping by the window of that power generator, approach it and look down on the white container and you will see the police baton. It is a good starting weapon because you have a couple of radroaches to take down before you obtain your 1st 10mm pistol.

You won't believe the amount of bugs that the unpatched version of Fallout 4 has. Hell, Dogmeat can even be used to duplicate the You're Special! book and get all SPECIAL stats up to 10 while at Level 1.

That's why I am a sniper. I can do more damage at longer ranges. It helps to mitigate the accuracy of the enemy. Charging in with guns a blazing will get you killed very quickly. You can be in the back of a crowd of 15 settlers with everyone shooting and every enemy that can see you will be shooting at YOU.

You could probably include locked locations as well because you can use companions to open those. You don't need any perks for that. Kate can open lock of any difficulty at any lvl while Nick can hack any terminal.

Here's how to get a decent 44. pistol early game! First you go to the side of the bridge at sanctuary hills but on the side of the gas station and keep walking along until you see a tube going up a mountain and follow it to a generator where there's a skeleton holding the pistol. If you jump on top of the generator there's some medical supplies. Also next to the skeleton is a suitcase with ammo and a random outfit. The only threat is when you get there,there will be 4-5 mole rats.dont keep going that way tho, there's 3 raiders not too far ahead. One of them has good armor,the rest are weak

Before following the tube up the mountain, follow it to the lake and flip the breaker, turning off the pump. NOW follow it up the mountain and when you get up to the machine itself open the panel on the west side. Three cap stashes will fall out with about 50-55 caps total. After getting the .44 and all the goodies on the ground and suitcase, hop onto the suitcase, turn north and hop onto the top of the machine. Now gather the good stuff there. Lots of players miss everything that is not in the suitcase or piled around the skeleton. Fight the mole rats from up there

You missed a couple great early weapons and also how to quickly get the amazing vault 81 "Overseers Guardian" as early as level-5. . >The 2 great rifles are found once you finish Olivia Satellite station, leave your power armor to save the core and sneak east from there past mongrels to Tenpines Bluff. At Tenpines Bluff fast travel back and get your power armor. Then just a bit further east of Tenpines Bluff you cross a rope bridge and are facing a raised freeway with one end collapsed down to the ground. On that overpass are 2 great rifles for early level. One is a fully decked out .308 hunting rifle with scope, and the other a charging sniper laser rifle. I always go south from there to enter Covenant because it gives me 2 vendors to get caps from. There's power armor in the lake there by a downed verti-bird, you can remove the pieces and sell them for good caps. . >To get "Overseers Guardian" early, I need 10 Charisma, around 1522 caps worth of stuff (your wedding rings and 3 gold bars) and 1 Grape Mentat. >>I start the game with at least 7 Charisma, I'll need 10 for the "Overseers Guardian". When looting Sanctuary there is a "Formal Hat" with +1 charisma and a "Black Suit" with +2 charisma, that gets me to 10. >>For caps, make sure you collect your wifes wedding ring when you wake up in the vault. When you are in the Sanctuary root cellar grab the 3 gold bars. Be aware when you transfer junk to Sanctuary's workstation the gold bars drop there like junk. ALWAYS TAKE THEM BACK. They will be worth about 1480 caps. When you're at Abernathy farm, talk to them and get the quest for the locket at Olivia Satellite station since you're going there anyway. That quest makes them a vendor you can get caps from. >>Grape Mentats cut vendors prices and raise value given for item you sell. To craft Grape mentats, you need Hub Flower, Mentats and Whiskey, then craft them at the chem station. You'll find Hub Flowers all around Vault 111 and Sanctuary areas. You'll find mentats when looting Sanctuary. Whiskey is the hardest item to find. It can randomly show up in containers but a guaranteed bottle can be found straight south from Abernathy farm at the "Gift Shop" on the west slope overlooking "Walden Pond" right inside the door. Careful, there are 3 booby traps further back in there! . >Craft the Grape Mentats, make sure you have the wedding rings under Apparel, and have 3 Gold Bars under Junk. Ensure you have the hat and suit to get to Charisma 10. Follow the train tracks south past Graygarden and Oberland Station to vault 81, (careful of the bear near vault 81). Charisma of 10 lets you ask V81 security to let you in for free. Go to the vendors shop and take your Grape Mentats before trading. The "Overseer's Guardian" rifle is 1522 caps (2346 caps without grape mentats). Your 2 wedding rings and 3 bars of gold should be worth about 1480 caps, sell the mini gun from Olivia Satellite station, the armor pieces off your power armor, ammo etc... buy the "Overseers Guardian" and as much .45 ammo as possible. One of his criteria , was "no vendors". Yes the Guardian is a great weapon, I have used it (upgraded ) all the way through the game . Excluding the "no vendor thing" , there also is the "Spray and Pray" from Cricket and she shows up in front of Daimond City early , often, or at Bunker Hill a good bit. With demo perks, the Spray and Pray is close to game-breaking, I think. Only second to finding an explosive mod combat shotgun. i won't even play with those , I store them if I find them , they are game-breaking IMO.

Step one: Grab Musket with no essentail NPC installed. Step 2: Complete the quest until Preston is leaving your Sanctary. Step 3: Kill him with a critical charge to the head. Good times.

I started a new game on the hardest difficulty (below survivor) and the Dogmeat trick still worked, so unless it is a patch that came out in the past two weeks (which was about when I restarted) it should still do the trick. To be honest though I have never yet used the Cryolator. The only reason why I have it was to see if the Dogmeat thing worked. This having been said, I play the PC version.

For me, the Cryolator modified to fire Dippin Dots is just fantastic. I somehow was able to get a duplicate one, so now both Piper (who I gave the original to) and myself each have one.

I just modified mine and will take it out for a spin. Personally I really like my kneecapper combat shotgun. Deathclaw comes charging in, takes a few rounds, collapses and then I can go in really close and personal and look it in the eye whilst I blow its fricking head off and all it can do is aimlessly paw at the ground.

I got my Fat Man and Mini Nike in Goodneighbor. Behind K-L-EO, they’re just laying there, and I just picked them up holding A (for the Xbox) and brought them into the alley. I’ve also stolen a lot of supplies from Diamond City like this, but it’s important to sneak when you want to pick it up at the location you bring it to. You can ONLY pick it up if it says you’re hidden. You can even steal right next to people if you’re hidden. Most people probably know that, though, but for new players, I think it’s helpful to know that. It’s pretty easy to hide. When stealing Nuka-Cola out of machines, you can hide behind the little door. You can even pickpocket people and get away with it if you’re hidden. This method is how I get nearly all of my Aid items, Junk, and caps.
