I'd throw in Taegukgi. Its about two brothers fighting in the Korean War. Also Indigènes and Joyeux Noel. The first is about a company of Algerian soldiers in WWII and the second is about the Christmas Truce during WWI.

Master & Commander is one of my all time favorite movies…A true historical masterpiece Downfall is brilliant as well with some 1st class acting. Apocalypto …. What about Midway ( both 1976 and 2019 movies ), Tora! Tora! Tora!, and I can't believe Gettysburg was left out. Obviously there are too many to fit in a list of 10, but I feel Gettysburg should have topped your list. Very historical movie. Gettysburg had 89% audience score on Rotten tomatoes. Scored a 7.6 on IMdB.

No harm in mentioning the ones we thought would be better. You said 'Glory' and I agree that would have been an important historical movie, but as you see there are no civil war movies on the top ten list of this video. Not Gettysburg, Not Glory, Not even God's and Generals. I'd probably have all three on my list, but I guess that would be too many American historical movies.

No way the cast of the 2019 version compares to the star studded cast of the original. And the authenticity of the original is far better and more accurate.

Requiem for a massacre, this one on the top, a soviet movie about the WW2, so hard that you watch it only once in your life. Merry Christmas, a french movie about WW1, French and German Soldiers didnt want to fight on that day, real story.

I have seen 2 out of the 10. My all time favorite is the Gladiator, but I would like to mention and recommend "The Legend of Tomiris" (2019) which is I think quite underrated. Maybe it's just my opinion, because I am obsessed with that era and strong women.

"braveheart" really ??? braveheart was a fantasy it was FAR from realistic. it depicts scots of the time to be wearing skirts when in reality they were armored knights. i think of "The Outlaw King" as a BUG FIX for Braveheart

I wish Netflix made Rings of Power. It’s so disgusting that Amazon has even tried to play this race card in order to avoid the real issue of how they have ruined one of history’s best writers, because they wanted to make bubble gum entertainment just to make money. They fired the Tolkien scholars when they wrote the script that’s all you need to know. Amazon…it’s shameful what you have done, and how you’re reacting to your mistake is even worse, shameful. The skin color changes aren’t even close to what is upsetting the far majority of fans who are criticizing ROP. In fact, the biggest problem most people have is with how Amazon has butchered the character Galadriel, a blond, blue eyed white girl. Not only does she have a completely different personality from what Tolkien wrote, but she doesn’t even fit the criteria of what makes an elf an elf. I’m starting to believe that these billionaire corporations truly don’t give a damn about diversity and gender equality. They care about one thing and that is MONEY. Thus, this is just a marketing strategy so that if they spend a billion dollars on a project and it flops they can just say it’s because of racial/gender intolerance, and their show will be fine because anyone who disagrees will just be ignored and reduced into that ugly category. Think about it. It’s a genius marketing strategy. Wish you all the best 🙏
