I just love the national costume round and tonight was no exception. We had colour, lights, feathers, drama, theatre and emotions. But who stood out from the crowd?

Fil-Am here, it was such a historical event for my home nation and it's better than just wearing something based off of the American flag like previous Miss USA's. Tbh, as an American, the U.S.’ costume was not my favorite. I feel like it would have been cool if we did something with our national bird(the bald eagle). Also something with the United States’ Great Seal where the eagle holds arrows for defending liberty and the olive branches for seeking peace.

@@CrownSisters landing on the moon was an event, a national costume usually depicts a culture of its population, the people, the tribes of the land, could be an indigenous identity with a traditional dress representing those characteristics. The U.S. has many tribal groups, but chooses to ignore that type of heritage. Other countries really focus on depicted their identity as a whole nation not an event, thats why that dress is so out of place. How about showing our navajo tribe outfits, the seminole outfits, wouldn't that be nice, to show our rich native history? Every other country does that , but the U.S. always seems to ignore the traditions, covers, or ignores the many faces of our population.

The USA costume was a joke. The woman could barely walk! She looked like she was going to tip backward! And I say this as an American. Jamaica, Mexico, Spain and Burma were at the top. These costumes were well-proportioned and edited wisely, with some looking like haute-couture. Jamaica was fierce! Loved that costume! None showed up on this list. The runners up were Puerto Rico, Vietnam, Ukraine and Trinidad. This list is not good, what with the likes of bird-hat woman showing up (Bolivia), along with "everything but the kitchen sink" costume (Guatemala).
