Thanks for featuring my AC15! I’ve got more captures I’m working on too. I’ve A-B’d with the real head plenty and they’re basically identical. NAM really does it justice! Now I can be lazy and just load NAM instead of hooking it up haha. TB is Top Boost by the way. And I did take pictures of the knobs for these captures and I’m happy to share if anyone wants them.

Thank you for doing all this work! I love the AC15 pack (I've used it plenty of times before this too). Glad it is on the last! Looking forward to seeing what else you are working on 🙏

I have a couple of spring reverb captures from this amp. Highly recommend the stereo version. Fender twin spring in stereo is shockingly good with this amp imho.

The Jazz Chorus has always been popular with progressive type music. Like Yes, and Rush to name a few. What makes it great IRL is the sweet chorus built into it.

Nice video man! and one question: why you didn't load the IR from NAM and instead you do it from Mikko2?
@stevenkambach
@stevenkambach 3 күн бұрын
To be honest, I don't remember the specific reason. I think I was matching the cabs and speakers to the type of NAM profiles so instead of finding a bunch of IRs to do that, I had it all in Mikko2. I almost always use a separate IR plugin or loader just for flexibility

You got extremely high input level. Different profiles captured with different input volume, so to find "sweetspot" you need to try different input volume values
@Flaming676
@Flaming676 4 ай бұрын
Thanks for this. I have a question. Don't you take into account the info some "presets" have about the input level? If your interface has 12dBu instrument inputs: 18.86-12 = 6.86, you have to LOWER the input in NAM Plugin to -6.86 dB for the capture to sound correct. You always have the input level at 0
@stevenkambach
@stevenkambach 4 ай бұрын
I have not messed with the input level. It's something I have to look into! Thanks

I typically use in ears of headphones. If you use an interface to get your guitar in I am pretty sure you have to use the interface for the output (i.e. I don't think you and interface in and laptop speakers out since the interface becomes the sound card). Whatever you plug into the interface to hear will work

Anyone happen to know why the Fender Twin Pack isn't outputting anything for me? All the other NAMs i tried worked just fine, but both from that pack just stay silent.

is nam just for heads and cabs or does it emulate effects pedals like harmonizer, d-tune, shimmer, wah, synths....etc etc ??? if not, does tonocracy do that ? if not they are both useless to me. plus altho the software is free i see a lot of paid kits monthly subs that are very confusing for free software 🤔
@stevenkambach
@stevenkambach 2 ай бұрын
NAM profiles gear. You cannot profile time or tuning based effects, you have to model them. Tonocracy has effects and can load NAM profiles. In the end, you do you ❤️

Can you please explain, how to use the neural amp modeler as a pream in front of a "real" poweramp?
@stevenkambach
@stevenkambach 4 ай бұрын
If you are using a computer you will need an interface. Go out from the interface into the power amp (you may have to adjust levels because out of the interface is usually a line level signal). Another options is to get one of those new DIMEHEAD Electronics NAM Player Pedals and run that into the power amp. Good luck 👍

Hi, im new to neural amp modeler, and im confused about importing impulse responses because NAM doesn support .wav files, how do i fix this problem?
@stevenkambach
@stevenkambach 3 ай бұрын
It should in the IR section. 1 NAM profile, 1 IR. If not, you can add another IR loader after NAM. This js great if you want to do multiple IRs anyway

Is it realistic to use this modeler live or do the latency/pc reliability factors rule it out?
@stevenkambach
@stevenkambach 3 ай бұрын
No latency / PC issues. As long as your computer is half decent you should be fine. I am not a fan of laptops for live use so I won't use it, but plenty of people do

I have a question , not a tech guy. I downloaded a few files from tone hunt, they are zipped files. How can I convert them to my PC to actually use?
@stevenkambach
@stevenkambach 4 ай бұрын
You will have to "extract" them. I recommend making a "new folder" wherever you want the profiles, then going to the zip folder, right click, "extract," and pick that new folder as the destination. I'm and no techie, but essentially the zip files are compressed so you have to extract then to uncompress them. Then, try loading the extracted files in the new folder. Good luck 👍

Why does everybody seem to like high gain profiles. I personally know nobody that plays guitar like that. Clean or light crunch is way nicer since you can just go from there. SRV, jimi, Derek trucks etc like isn't that how people want to sound?
