Koh Tao, Thailand is a wondrous island chain! The snorkeling and scuba diving are great and are just among many great attractions. I recommend the North Shore to stay highly; This is where you will be both safe and liberated. Roads and services are excellent to travel all around the island chain from here. One of the great things about the North Shore is that it's so international! I was friends with German dive instructors, Russian expats and vacationers, girls from Spain, a young man from Italy, a group of young college students from Japan. Really a glorious place.
