@@LambentLark do you know the story behind the name? They might have been inspired by their "home" in Matanuska-Susitna Valley, which is really two separate valleys. Mat-Su is just a local nickname. Maybe such confusing place names might have inspired the band's name.

Depends which article you read what it means. I think they just thought it sounded cool and made it sing. Before "Feel it Still" I knew the band because of one song. There was one WoW video of a Malygos Speed Kill that had the sond "How the Leopard got its spot" as the only song. When I heard "Feel it still" a few years back, I was like "You know that voice, but why?" When I remembered, I only found greatness!

They are some bangers if you really like Portugal the man as an ever progressing band and not as a “oh I want them to sound the same way forever” types.
