I also love the demonstration of the Astro megaship. It looks like the USS Defiant from Star Trek: Deep Space 9(it is quite clearly that DS9 is a major inspiration for In Space AND Lost Galaxy). So being now a ST fan I KNOW that ship isn't a children's plaything. It is MEANT FOR WAR!!!

All fantastic openers but my favorite is Time Force. It showed so much Jen's relationship with Alex, and then when Alex is killed right in front of her. That set the tone for a fantastic season, and it made damn sure everyone respected the big bad and knew he was going to be a threat no matter what.

Nah, Countdown was great but it did not really tie in with the whole story. For instance, the villains had Zordon from the beginning, why did they only wait till the end to attack the universe, they could have been conquering the universe throughout the season and then set their sights on planets in the Milky Way.

The characters are not only fleshed out, but allowed to show signs of growth and maturity that aren't one-note. Great breakdown as usual of each season opener I agree with each and every top ten I would have put time force as my number one over lost galaxy...even though lost galaxy is kind of the "mother" of an adult ranger team that had to find their own way in the wake of tragedy I feel like time force did the same on more of a grand scale. They had to leave the only world they ever known to go back a thousand yrs in time to the unknown to catch the historically the worst criminal right after losing their leader. The character development through the season across the board was much better than lost galaxy from Wes to Jen to Eric heck even Ransik owning up to his crimes in the end

I know I’m biased toward Dino Thunder because it’s my favorite, however I’d put Day of the Dino at number 3 and then just move the rest down the list. My reasoning is while yes Tommy doesn’t really have regrets from working on the Tyranodrones, just the intro of the team, to them getting their powers, to them just having to trust a NEW teacher who they only just met (which lead them to obtaining the Dino Gems) and they most importantly had to learn how to work together, for they were all from extremely different worlds. And I loved how they had to tame their sores instead of them just having them, similar to Lost Galaxy in that sense. But otherwise I agree with the list. I honestly really like Operation Lightspeed as an intro episode, it does a lot for both Carter and Dana as characters. It establishes ENOUGH about Joel, Chad, Kelsey, and Cpt. Mitchell as well. I wouldn't necessarily say it's as good as Force from the Future or Road to Corinth but it's pretty impressive IMO

as I think back, the ONLY opening/premiere I can say was undeniably bad is Samurai. I mean the actual STARTING point was aired halfway through give or take, which is a terrible way to do things ( which has been a hallmark of the Neo Saban era, just so many bad decisions...even Dino Charge, which started out surprisingly amazing, took a nosedive in the Super half...god I hate that "add Super to the title halfway through, call it a separate season and stretch the episodes out over 2 years in the most annoying manor" bs. )

Same here. I liked it as a 9 year old kid. But I only started loving it when I was an adult. There "Lights Of Orion saga" is a bit rough, but makes up for it with the Magna Defender. Great list. I only consider my first impressions while watching premieres, so for me it's: 1. RPM. Dystopia on Power Rangers? I didn't see this coming. Also 99% of human population death? That's really dark and totally new for this franchise. Also I like how many times they were coming back to this moments and expanded them. And we don't even see rangers until very end of an episode. That's says how different this season will be or actually already is. 2. Time Force. It starts with a death of red ranger... How they can continue? Horrifying villain? Time travel and female leader are already in premiere episodes? I'm in! 3. In Space. That dinner scene alone. And I need more Astronema! Getting this after Turbo? YES! 4. Ninja Storm. Trained ninjas but at the same time kinda loosers are becoming the rangers? That's ineteresting. 5. Mighty Morphin. Just because it was the begining and none knew what's to come. 6. Megaforce. I hate this season and think that the only good thing which came from it is Gia but I must admit that this dream scene was something big and made me interesting in this season. Too bad that this was porly executed. 7. Lost Galaxy. No more teenagers and high school? Finally! Space station/city? Hmm, nice. And rangers are kinda like King Arthur with Excalibur? 8. SPD. Two rangers teams? They have powers before becoming a rangers? How does this hierarchy works? I need answers. 9. Samurai. Rangers are called because it's their duty? My top 10 not an any "Particular" order: 1. Day Of the Dumpster: 2 astronauts "accidentally" open Rita Repulsa's space dumpster and free her and her assistants Baboo, Finster, Goldar, and Squatt. Zordon chooses Billy, Jason, Kimberly, (later after "Green With Evil") Tommy, Trini, and Zach to fight her. A great way to start any series and all 5 (later 6) teens to protect their planet and stop an evil sorceress and her minions from seizing the planet Earth for them selves. 2. Ninja Quest : The season 3 opening with Billy, Kimberly, Tommy, and the 3 newer Rangers Adam, Aisha, and Rocky, sees Rito Revolto arrive and with some monsters help totally trash and destroy the Thundermegazord and the Tigerzord. :( Ninjor steps in and gives the Rangers their new Ninja Zords which are cool but heartbreaking as (to me) with the loss of powers and Zords from season 2. The Tengas are not my favorite grunts or foot soldiers in this season but I love the Ninja suits to fight them. By the way, do the 6 actors that play the Rangers do ADR work and the 6 in the Ninja outfits are stunt people like in the regular suits? 3. From Out Of Nowhere: In Space opening when the 4 former Turbo Rangers Ashley, Carlos, Cassie, and TJ go with Alpha 6 to space and meet, and later team up with Andros to fight the UAE. All of the first five seasons villains appear; Rita, Rito, Zedd, The Machine Empire, Divatox, and their minions appear to hamper the 5 (later 6 heroes.) Astronema is a great villainess and later is brainwashed into "Cyber Astronema" with no memories of her as Karone or that Andros was her brother. 4. A Zeo Beginning: Adam, Billy, Katherine, Rocky, and Tommy with Tanya (replacing Aisha) from season 3 see The Command Center blown up with an implosion bomb, but find the Zeo crystal and (finally receive) from Alpha 5 and Zordon their new Zeo powers to face the Machine Empire and start all over again. A new beginning for the Rangers who are introduced to The Power Chamber with their new powers. More later

Road to Corinth was a highlight of Ranger primiers. I for sure agree top 5 on it. It presents it's world well, it's cast of characters are presented well and it really sets up the rangers at their best. I do think Operation Lightspeed was a great opening to a season even if the season was kinda a letdown. Lightspeed Rescue set up its heroes and Villians well while explaining away that secret identity thing that had been part of it for so long. The Power Rangers of this season weren't a secret identity thing it was a military organization that included the rangers. While I didn't like the season as a whole I gotta give it the credit it's due in my opinion.

Lightspeed Rescue was an ok season kinda middle of the pack for me however given the backgrounds that they had and the way some of the story got told I had issues with Ryan the titanium Ranger as well as Joel the Green Ranger, and the Focus episode Kelsy got with the space shuttle also was kinda off for me. I did get that hype tho from the premier of it tho which is what I want from a premier. They also didn't do as much with Dana as I was hoping. I thought from the pilot we were going to get the leader out of the pink ranger role and not the red.

I grew up in the Disney era so there’s bias. But also growing up the two part openers would be just that: two parts. So I was a fan of the one part episodes of Ninja Storm (my fav season) and RPM (second fav) the most as some others barely showed ranger action in the first part, which as a kid was what I was here for. Upon binging I’m able to appreciate these two part episodes a lot more but Ninja Storm and RPM have the 1 and 2 spots for me.

The only problem i have with Jungle Furry is that Day Shy escaped so stupidly : I would have rather have Master Mao Tell us that this is the day when Day Shy escapes his captivity and that he is going to die and it is up to these 3 to both destroy Day Shy and to become great warriors and why not , add that The Wind Ninja Academy is a root of the Pay Shwa

That is currently in development! I've started writing what will likely be a script twice as long as the original, if not longer. I'm not sure when it'll be ready, but I'll keep all of you updated through these videos and through twitter about any significant progress being made :)

Power Rangers RPM was screwed from the start. Disney shoved it over to ABC Kids instead of Disney XD and many affiliates refused to air it.
