I accidentally stumbled upon one of your video and played through 6-7 videos. I don't understand why you are not in the mainstream of this community. Maybe you are, but not as popular as others. I'm not trying to be a guru like some people on this website; I'm just sharing why I like certain fragrances so much, and hopefully you can relate to that. So my word is not gospel or anything, and as a result, I don't cosign blind buying of any amount whatsoever. Blind buying fragrances is like blind buying clothes; like, what's the blend and performance like in conjunction with your chemistry and conditions? Or what size and colour is a shirt in conjunction to your personal swagger and physique? Feel me? That being said, I hope you enjoy the Guerlain Homme L'Eau Boisée though. Thanks for the feedback! =]

Great video brother! Maybe in the future ya might be able to do affordable designer spring fragrances possibly under $40. As much as I'd personally love to try out all of the recommendations in this video, the niche frags are a bit pricey. Keep up the great work again Manny.
@CascadeScents7 жыл бұрын
I genuinely do not own that many fragrances for under $40, sorry. Like, not enough to do a list at least. Also, I'm not a typical fragrance guru on KZbin; this is solely a journey for me. I just genuinely enjoy sharing my stories about certain fragrances, and some of these so happen to be pricy. Sure I urge people to try stuff I like, yes, and if they like the scent, as well as what they'd use it for, its compliment factor, and its performance, then great; they can buy it. But please understand that I'm not trying to be inconsiderate by not including more inexpensive fragrances. It doesn't mean they're bad, I just so happen to have expensive taste [although I even listed L'Eau Boisée and Barfly here which you can even buy for less than $40 and $60 USD each respectively]. Just know that my seasonal lists will consist of stuff I genuinely will enjoy for the season myself, and hopefully people will enjoy what I have to say about this stuff regardless of price. That's how I watch fragrance videos, and I try to watch everyone's. Not everyone's taste or presentation style will appeal to me completely, but I'll just try to enjoy what I can out of whoever I am watching, and hopefully my audience can give me that same chance. Thanks as always for the support though, and hopefully you understand. Salute! =]
@xHibachi24x7 жыл бұрын
CascadeScents I most definitely understand. I'd rather ya do videos on things you're passionate about instead of attempting to film something solely for the audience. Even though I won't be purchasing the pricy frags, I still appreciate your videos for their entertainment factor. I think you've also got some of the best video production out of the frag reviewers I watch. I can tell you've got an eye for the smallest of details. Keep up the great work Manny!
@CascadeScents7 жыл бұрын
I'd like to think that something about my videos is entertaining, whether it is my presentation or production, or even my choices, yeah... But yeah, I'd probably talk about more inexpensive stuff if I had them, it's just I haven't been looking out for them. On top of that, I am ardently against blind buying, regardless of how cheap stuff can be, and around here I can't test the cheap stuff, sadly. Thanks again for understanding and supporting. Much love! =]

Now that's Spring in a video! Need to put my nose in some of those frags. Btw, in terms of performance and scent what's difference between Un Jardin Sur Le Nile and Un Jardin En Mediterranee?
@CascadeScents7 жыл бұрын
Projection and longevity is better on Un Jardin en Mediterranée; arm's length which is more than sur le Nil, and lasts for about 5-6 hours. Scent-wise, en Mediterranée is a sweet fig/fig leaf and some woods and greens. Give either a try if you get a chance. Thanks for commenting as always! =]

Hey Manny, video. Hey for Un Jardin Sur Le Nil I get 12 hours when I wear that one..... I kid you not and I great good projection as well. Do you moisturize before apply it?
@CascadeScents7 жыл бұрын
I moisturize pretty consistently, yeah. My skin is typically seldom dry and I'm known to get better performance overall from fragrances that are known to fail in that category. Might be my batch or your batch, or maybe it is you, fam. You may have legendary pH levels, or skin chemistry altogether. =]

I like women's perfumes too, so it's all good, hahaha. Black Opium is more sweet and gourmand rather than fresh though! Can't say it's entirely unique, so it doesn't come off as mysterious either. It just smells "nice" to me, but I'd wear it out if I were you before potentially buying it. Just spray the tester the way you normally would and walk around with the scent. Nice one man!!! Manny. I wanna try Silva Mountain Wata sometime. But dude... Have you any experience of Terre d'Hermes? I'm thinking about buying it.... I want it because Hermes luxury brand, love the bottle and I love the notes how it sounds. Vetiver scent. Orange skin/peel. And if I remember right, spice(s). Yep. Ehrmessss hermess. And also here in Finland I love spring Time and summer. Days getting longer, sun coming out and shining. Weather getting more neutral/warm. Warming up until summer. Mid may is what I consider spring to end and summer to begin myself. Life springs, life has sprung in spring. Our snow melts. 95% of the snow will melt by mid April.
@CascadeScents7 жыл бұрын
I've mentioned Terre D'Hermès in a few of my videos. It's an all-time, great fragrance and worthy of anyone's "best of" list. For me, Terre D'Hermès leans more autumn rather than spring, but objectively speaking, it's great for every season. All in all, I love that stuff. And I can't wait for warmer weather myself too, ugh. Greetings from Canada! Kiitos! =]

Highly original list, Manny! My favs here would be Gucci PH II, SMW, Guerlain Homme LB, Citiver, and Bal D'Afrique. My mom owns one of the Chanel ones you mentioned.. not sure which one exactly. I like spring, but autumn's gotta be my fav season. My username is an acronym for An Autumn For Crippled Children... they are a blackgaze/depressive black metal band.
@CascadeScents7 жыл бұрын
Your mom is awesome for her great taste in Chanels! And I'm flattered to know that you favour a good half of my list, haha. Also, I'm more into power and symphonic metal myself, believe it or not. I actually go to a lot of shows too. I'm a big fan of bands like Within Temptation and Nightwish. Their lyricism, sound, and imagery are also part of why I love spring and spring fragrances so much. :P I'll give that band a look though. Thanks for commenting as always! =]

Great line up and very unisex and always, as charming as you are😘

If anything, try it on skin and give it a proper wearing. Like don't wear anything that day and apply the tester the way you would any other fragrance of that genre. Walk around with it and maybe you'll feel different. It's scent cloud is incredible, in my opinion! At first it's inky nature may be a bit off-putting, but everything else after is a 10 out of 10! @CascadeScents7 жыл бұрын
Both are classics, but I wouldn't reach for them here. I wanna be safe but stand out, not safe and blend in. Too common around here for me. Great stuff though, respectively.
@koffz-nl21187 жыл бұрын
CascadeScents thanks for the feedback! Haha I can see what you mean by wanting to 'stand out', i tried out the gardin sur le nil yesterday and I can say that it is indeed a peculiar scent, not really my type of scent( I'm a 20yo fragrance newbie), too garden-ish lol. but luckily for me, few people here wear fragrances and especially very few people around my age(usually it stays at lynx lol) so I think I'll be safe and smell not too common with those choices but it's so hard to choose, which one would you recommend as a casual scent? And have you heard of rituals byzantin bleu before? Sorry for the long ass reply haha

Don't blind buy anything, let alone Lyric Man. :P It's such a polarizing scent! Not scent cloud-wise, but you may personally find it "girly", so watch out. If you're primarily for the ladies, you may have a better experience looking elsewhere. Interlude Man is unwearable for me, but I'd use it for autumn and winter, yeah. You just read my mind! Was already kinda planning on it, so I will most definitely do that sooner then. Thanks for the suggestion! Among the inclusions are Bois du Portugal, Dior Homme Cologne, Memoir Man, Neroli Outrenoir, and Portrait of a Lady! =]

For me, I don't get much dimension from the base, TBH. Check out my review of Green Irish Tweed, although I probably feel differently about what I get from it now. And as cliché as this answer is, it's only worth it at that price if you say it is or isn't. Just make sure you're able to test it properly so you are fully satisfied with its dry down and performance. Also, I'd compare prices with some real, online sites like Fragrancex.com and FragranceNet.com, if they can ship to Armenia or not. Greetings from Canada and thank you for the kind words. =]

I try my best to answer, but I wouldn't fault some of the vloggers too much. Like, I'm just kinda sharp, haha. :P KZbin's comment system is very unintuitive, and it's so easy to just lose track of who commented and all. So inconsistent! You're welcome though, Arni. Thanks again. Salute! =]

Those "wings" behind you made me think of Kratos, God of War #1, in Tycoonius suit. ^_^ By the way, how do you choose which perfume to use? How long does it take?
@CascadeScents7 жыл бұрын
Kratos, hahahaha. God of War is awesome! And I pick according to occasion and how do I feel. For example, if I am just hanging out in the daytime and I'm in a good mood, I'll pick something that is innately reminiscent of happiness, like Bal D'Afrique. Won't take me too long. =]

Hey bro, when you say barfly is peony. What do you mean? Awesome video by the way. I bought both Byredo and lyric man.

Peony? Did I say that? Whoops. :P Thank you so much though, and I hope you enjoy Bal D'Afrique and Lyric Man. Salute! =]

i have never heard half of those fragrances. this list should be something hidden fragrances for spring use. please make a list with current market fragrances.
@hetorakel34777 жыл бұрын
I suggest you to go to a mall
@CascadeScents7 жыл бұрын
Just because you haven't heard of them, doesn't mean they aren't current market fragrances... Isn't that why us creators are out here; in case you haven't heard of certain fragrances? :P
@whynotruhi7 жыл бұрын
you are right, i just want to see some familiar fragrances that i can easily reach and try... those fragrances may be perfect for spring but they do not overly accepted by the community. you creators should publish alternative videos. 10 nich, 10 designer or 10 underrated spring frag lists may be better both us and for your channel view.
@CascadeScents7 жыл бұрын
Sorry, and I know I am in the minority here, but I actually dislike doing x amount of top 10 lists per season because it's redundant for me. I'm of the belief that regardless of price point, or community classification of what is designer and what is niche, that anything can be good. So I'd like to think that my list will consist of what personally best works for me that season; again, regardless of price point or any classification. It's way more honest this way. I think it's silly to see two different lists when I personally know that the creator is not consistently rotating between 20 different fragrances for a season that is just over 90 days long. I try not to play the standard "reviewer", "guru", or "expert" type. This is simply a lifestyle for me, so I'll just honestly talk about what I like rather than recommend stuff that everyone else is recommending. There's only so much I get distribution-wise in my country too, please keep that in mind.

thanks for your explanations, i really like original video contents and guests in your channel. however, i am not into ''if something works on me, price is not a big deal'' idea. This is like making a list called "best cars for drivers" which includes Nissan Micra and Mercedes S class in the same list. Both cars may be great for drivers but these experts should concern road types, fuel emissions and even car types (SUV or Roadstar). This type of a classification may be more helpful for whom wants to buy a new car. NVM, i do continue following your channel and will enjoy it. Thanks for your all replies. Salute :)

It was actually JF who gave me the platform to showcase what I can do for KZbin and the more grassroots fragrance community, so I have him to thank, haha. That being said, I'd like to think we're all great in our own respective ways if anything. =] But hey, thank you for the kind words and for subscribing. Much love, brother!
@MrColors897 жыл бұрын
Well, your fragrance preferences much wider and more interesting. And in my opinion JF's fixation on fragrances as a compliment-gatherer is wrong and kind of frustrating. Anyway, you're welcome, and i wish you to hit 1M subscribers asap. =)

The main thing I dislike about this guy is that hes a little too into the artistry of the fragrences. Personally I only would consider buying 2 on this list.
@CascadeScents7 жыл бұрын
The funny thing is, in comparison to more than a few other fragrance people who make videos, I don't think I'm that into the artistry. :P I look mainly for is it safe and pleasant first and foremost, and then I ask myself, "do I have an occasion for it?". I can get into the artistry after that because it is fun for me. But real talk, more than half of this list is safe and would pass for mainstream, so if I wanted solely artsy stuff then I'd have only crap like Lyric Man and Nightingale on this list.
@Ruriostegui23237 жыл бұрын
bal D'afrique by byredo... doesnt seem mainstream to me.
@CascadeScents7 жыл бұрын
It's light florals and vetiver. It's unique, yes, but it doesn't smell "weird". If the perfumer is made a clone of it for Zara Home, it's mainstream enough on scent alone [at least for me].
@Ruriostegui23237 жыл бұрын
Idk maybe we have different taste, I personally like sexy fragrances and floral just isnt sexy.
@CascadeScents7 жыл бұрын
It's definitely not sexy, no. :P We have different tastes then, but my different doesn't always mean "not mainstream".

try Portrait of a Lady by Fredric Malle and trust me you will forget about Lyric man ;)

I still prefer Lyric Man because I find it more versatile and I like how it's more reliant on a fresher rose. Portrait of a Lady is sitting in my shopping cart as I type this though. Great rose scent! =]
