What good is a sun hat that lets the sun onto your scalp?

I was in the market for a serious summer sun hat instead of the cheap ones available at all of the big box stores. After much research I decided on Sunday Afternoons Ultra Adventure Hat. I received it and I'm lovin' it! The first thing I noticed was the air I could feel circulating on the top of my bald head. Having vents on your hat are important, however, they usually allow burning sun rays to filter through. Usually I have to decide between being sunburned without a hat or hot with a hat. That’s never happened before with ANY hat I have owned. The Ultra Adventure hat has happily made that decision for me with its ultraviolet protection factor of 50+, including the mesh panels. No more polka dot sunburned head! Also, its so light weight you can forget you have it on. It is really the lightest hat I have owned. Its hard to believe it can do its job and be so light on your head. The down sloping 3 ¼” brim shades my entire face and the cape keeps the sun off my neck, which is another great design feature. This hat gives protection to head, face, neck and ears without being obtrusive. Other features include a sunglass lock that holds your glasses in place. It works too. I have tried to shake my head to dislodge them and they stay put. Also, if taking a hat in a back pack is an issue for you, this hat folds in half at the brim and can be kept in your pocket. Without a doubt, this is the best hat on the market and worth every penny. I urge people to give this hat a try if you are shopping for the best hat out there. Since its guaranteed for life, it will probably be the last sun hat you need to buy!!

Hello, I’m considering this one but I live in a windy location, how does it fair in this condition? Does it flap wildly?

@GladysReyes-u4m When I wear this hat and it is not windy out, I just leave the chin strap tucked up on the inside of the hat. If it is windy, I use it but I don't snug it up too tight, I still like to feel some space between my head and the hat. If its really windy I'll cinch it a bit more. I can feel it move about a little but I know its going yo stay put. I can feel the neck flap blowing alot, but it doesn't bother me and it is not intrusive. I thought about clipping a couple of office clips on the flap for weight if it became an issue but so far it has been ok for me. I though with the brim facing down it might catch the wind when you looked up. It does a bit, but no big deal. The cord keeps it in place. I think the weight of the hat is a big factor because it is so light and you can feel wind blowing through it rather than against it. Does that make sense?! It truly is the best sun blocking hat I ever had and the fabric is rated UPF 50+ sun protection. I hope this helps. I'm sue you will like it if you get it!
