To my mind that was the single most horrific scene in the entire series. There was something sadistic about showing it. I think the showrunners have a sadistic streak. @Excitegaming05 жыл бұрын
Oliver F. Shit in real life doesn’t work out either, they chose to not base royalty on bloodlines because sons and daughters of kings are terrible, like Joffrey and dany. Jon’s character has always been about honor and doing your duty no matter the cost. He took it upon himself to kill dany because he was the only one who would that could get close enough to her. The moment he shoves the knife in her heart, is the moment he seals his fate.. he knew it and he did it anyway because he knew what was right. He stayed true to the character that we have known since season 1. That’s why I preferred his ending, him being the heir led to all of Dany’s betrayals and her paranoia. Him telling her was what his character symbolizes he’s honest. He knew he couldn’t have kept that from her... even though she wanted him too.

@@1ManNamedDan Lol nice assumption, I actually like Dany going mad queen I'm not talking about things I didn't like I'm specifically talking about the incoherent writing. The writing that made her forget about eurons fleet that she had been talking about for an entire season before, the writing that had bronn somehow sneak into winterfell with a large crossbow and magically find tyrion and jaimie alone in a random room with no explanation. The writing that gave characters invincible plot armour in the battle of winterfell. I'm not talking about decisions in the show that are subjectively not what some people wanted like Dany going mad I'm talking about bad writing that literally doesn't make sense. Btw I bet you don't hate to make things political there was literally zero reasons to bring in any example from current political situations into your argument yet you did so anyway. Remove trump from your statement and your point is exactly the same so you injected politics for the sake of it
@1ManNamedDan5 жыл бұрын
I injected politics as a point of historical reference (the show we are referencing is a political semi psuedo-historical drama). I agree that Bronn slipping into Winterfell was a bit of a stretch but being as such a self described "sneaky cunt" his waiting till the survivors of the dead onslaught were celebrating themselves stupid as to be un-noticed is not unthinkable. The battle of Winterfell had the best fighters in the realms of man, battle hardened veterans of of the kingdom slugging it out to the bitter end and only the most skilled and or lucky seemed to survive. In real warfare luck has more to do with it but in a pinch plot armor will suffice - which is kind of a mercy in a show that continually killed off main characters to subvert genre I was actually yelling at the screen as Daenerys burned Euron''s fleet equipped with scorpion filled boats - I thought that was lazy writing when it seemed she faced far fewer ships when her other dragon was killed. That was crap. Otherwise I think things fell into place in such a way as not only possible but entirely inevitable. I wish I could buy you a drink or share some smoke and we could talk more about this. I do not begrudge your difference of opinion as I am satisfied with being satisfied and don't need to change your mind to make mine feel at ease. But I do like to argue with reasonable people and you seem to be one of them.

@@1ManNamedDan i dont mind most of the things happening in this season (except Jamies character arc) but i just think it should not have been so rushed. Like seriously... Night Watch was created in first place to pretect world from the Night King... he's no longer a threat. @derbaba52665 жыл бұрын
@@bifa5414 So you both still couldnt get that they sent jon to his friends to life free & without titles, politics or other bullshit?
@ursaevitas55 жыл бұрын
Initially it was obviously intended to protect from the clear threat, which would have been white walkers. After over a thousand years, and I bet you can't remember much information from that amount of time ago, the night's watch had become more of a protection from a current threat. This threat would have been wildlings, and the irony is that they initially would have been a part of the same people as those defending the wall, although facing much harsher circumstances. So at the point in the story in which we see, it is fair to assume that Jon would feel compelled to defend against (remember these are wildlings) the current threat. It just so happens the threat is larger, but that does not diminish the way it affects his character, and clearly the outcome of the show. Regardless of how you feel about the ending, I think Jon's character affecting the story in a way that does matter. That's why the Night's Watch does have a purpose. Sorry to rant but it's been a rough week, and I really needed something to think about, so hopefully you'll be able to keep up this conversation. My top 11:(books or show) (In no order) 1. The death of Rhaego(Dany’s son) 2. The red wedding 3. Olenna murdered Joffrey 4. Lysa And Petyr murdered Jon Arryn 5. Arya kills the night king(pissed me off, I think the night king should’ve been the final villain of the series, and the person to kill him should’ve been Jon or Theon, but it still was pretty unexpected 6. Bran becomes king(Just like Night King’s death, pissed me off, what was the point of making Jon Targaryen if he didn’t take the throne. But just like the ending of battle of Winterfell, I was surprised) 7. Dany being the mad queen(Despite the foreshadowing, I didn’t see it coming. Maybe the major reason I didn’t see it coming was cause her development was not written well) 8. Quentyn releases the dragons(This one is only in the books, as Quentyn is not in the show. For those of u who r reading and haven’t reached the ending of book 5 yet, I won’t say anything 9. Jon is the son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Leanna Stark 10. The Baratheon kids r incest babies 11. Hold the door(I know I said that this list was in no particular order, but this is probably THE greatest twist. Unless u figured out that the words hold the door would end up important and that merged together made hodor, there is no way anyone could figure this twist out

Number 1: Arya didn't kill Cersei. It's something that had been foreshadowed almost the entire series and basically the reason of her entire journey. Like seriously tho, now it feels like her entire story arc are just fillers.

Actually, production quality didn't drop. In fact everything in Season 8 seemed to be at an all time high. Costume, acting, score, etc. Everything, except the writing. And that is a problem.

Survives being a slave 7. Survives meeting Dany 8. Survives the Harpy attacks 9. Survives Winterfell 10. Survives Dany mad queen 11. Survives grey Worm 12. The biggest twist of all: Season 8
@Chronocrits5 жыл бұрын
The hate is strong. 80% of the below comments are mocking season 8 in truly unoriginal fashion. 10% are saying that some of the twists could be seen a mile away. 5% are saying that Jon killing Dani was visible a mile away. 3% are saying that the comment sections are toxic and unoriginal. The last 2% are remarking on a ground breaking show that always kept us guessing, and will truly be missed, despite the shortcomings of the finale. I’m in that little camp.

Jon killing Dany and Jon being a Targaryen, while definitely shocking, were something that a lot of people suspected though. I would make the list go something like this; 1. Red Wedding 2. Ned's Death 3. Hold the Door 4. Jon's "Death" 5. Cersei Blows up Sept 6. Jaime Pushes Bran out the Window 7. Oberyn's Death 8. Dany Receives Unsullied / Speaks Valyrian 9. Arya Kills Walder Frey 10. Arya Kills Night King (would've been higher had Melisandre not spelled it out for us) HM: -Dany has Dragons! -Jon = Targaryen -Sansa & Arya Kill Littlefinger -Hardhome

The biggest twist at all was when Benioff and Weiss murdered the entire series for Star Wars Money. It was very predictable, but I stupidly didn’t see it coming. You know, I was an idiot who thought that “Breaking Bad” meant that TV was getting better. Now I see that “Breaking Bad” was a once in a lifetime Fluke, like The Beatles. I never learn. 🤬
