There are much weirder levels out there that I can't think of right now, but the painted world from Oblivion comes to mind. When you're transported to the painted world to look for the artist, you find yourself battling painted trolls with painted arrows. It's a brush-stroked version of Tamriel, which provides a very cool contrast to the rest of the game. It's cool how the edges of the level fade off into a desert void.

You know a trully weird level? The christmass level in Elite Beat Agents. The entire game has this comedic and light hearted and stupid feel to it,but suddenly you are thrown in a level where you have to help a little girl and her mother to cope with her father's death. Tho it still has a little bit of humor inserted in it,the entire level is a lot darker and more serious than the rest of the game.Even the commander doesn't say his characteristic "AGENTS ARE: GO!" at the start of the level.

No Tomb Raider 2? After 15 levels of more-or-less realistic platform jumping and puzzle solving round Venice, an oil rig and sunken ship, and Tibet, suddenly you're transported to these weird floating islands in space and surrounded by buzzing, hovering robot monk things. In Majora's Mask, everything is just creepy/weird. The moon is scary. Some of the monsters are creepy. The world is weird as shit. And even the game itself is just scary as hell lol. Oh and you mentioned Majima's karaoke in Yakuza~! xD Thanks for mentioning it! Yakuza is of the best game for me and Goro Majima is one of my favourite characters besides Kazuma and Haruka! ^^

I know this game isn't mainstream, and I'm not saying it should be on here, but there's this bit in Spooky's House of Jumpscares when you go in this room and there's a talking cat and there are loads of doors that apparently take you to parts of the mind or something like that... That was pretty weird XD I also think the bit in Shantae where you have to make yourself magnetic is a pretty weird level XD And finally... Sonic Advance Egg Rocket zone... That freaked me out when I first played it because it was totally different to any other levels, with a completely different save spot, gravity-defying areas, a generally weird scenery and atmosphere, strange music and overall kinda confused me... Yeah those are my personal picks. But the Distortion World will always be my favourite XD

I have an idea for a list.... How about out of place moments in video games? Like, Kirby's Dreamland 3 for example. The game for the most part is very cute and colorful. But out of nowhere, you fight a giant eyeball boss named "Zero". Okay, nothing too odd yet. But then it's iris bursts out of it's body in a rather bloody way. You could also say Zero-Two from Kirby 64 would fit this list... but, I'd say it's first death was way more out of place in a Kirby game.

Cool to see the Mad Hatter in this, and he does one of the most interested and twisted things in the classic Animated Series too. He puts Batman into a dream like state to keep him there forever in a kind of fantasy World where he isn't batman, he sees Batman swingin' and can't believe his eyes. Makes you think a lot, reminded me of the Matrix with the "what is real" thing =P Not gonna say how Bruce figures out he's in a dream but it's interestin' and cool. Oblivion's got a great dream like level, very weird and its puzzles are well thought out.

I'd actually argue that Ring of Chaos is the weirder stage from Kid Icarus: Uprising. Sure more bizarre perception-bending stuff happens in The Chaos Vortex, but The Chaos Ring comes completely out of left field, disorienting me more than anything I encountered in The Chaos Vortex. Let me put it this way: You just took out Pyrrhon, under the Aurum Brain's control. Pyrrhon is then tasked with sending the brain to the other side of the Galaxy, and everything looks hunky dory. Next chapter, you're a ring! It allows you to possess the body of a girl, a dog and a buff swordman. After all this time of wondering what's going on, you realize it's been 3 years since the last point and that your beloved commander wants to do away with all humanity and you. Suddenly something like The Chaos Vortex seems fair game.

The "Shivering Isles" DLC for "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion" should at the very least be somewhere on this list. I would probably rank it in the top 3 personally.
