The performance of Radio Ga Ga is epic. The crowd responding with the hand clapping in sequence gives me chills to this day. A great movie with great performances all around, especially Rami Malek's.
@theylied17765 жыл бұрын
The best scene in the movie was between Freddie and Mary, in the Radio Station. When they went to a wide shot with Mary (on the outside looking in) and Freddie being his true self with the DJ. That's when Mary stopped denying what she had always suspected and realized Freddie was Gay. That scene was perfectly framed. Mary to the left of frame, a huge Queen poster in center of frame, and Freddie holding court to the right of frame.
@gripweed5 жыл бұрын
funny enough, thats no ordinary dj, thats kenny everett, and hes also canonically gay and they actually went to gay bars together (in the mid 70s i think?) but they were never a couple
@theylied17765 жыл бұрын
@@gripweed I know, that's why Mary says, "I didn't know Freddie knew Kenny?" That comment set the entire scene for her realization.

The film felt often unbalanced, weirdly polished up and strangely edited, but on the other hand it was TOTALLY AWESOME! Goes to show that films don’t have to be perfect to be great. And that Live Aid sequence, I cried and wanted to jump up from my cinema seat. Incredible performance by Rami Malek, hats off.

My dad took me to see this film as soon as it came out. I was never the biggest Queen fan, but I held a great deal of respect for Freddie Mercury. Watching this film tore me apart, it was just so sad. He told me about how he saw Live Aid on his TV, how rumors were circling around about the remaining Beatles coming back for a reunion (a rumor that easily could've been debunked in today's day with social media). He told me about how huge Queen's Live Aid performance was for him and how Freddie Mercury's death was the most hard hitting musician's death he ever lived through. Long live the Queen.

Freddie was an absolute genius. I was born in 1999 so I was never put into queen until well into my teenage years. I took mushrooms alone in my room one night with no clue what to do, so I watched a live performance of queen. I’ve watched the performance on two different trip and it brings tears to my eyes everytime and leads to some very positive introspection, about life and personally where I want to be at as an adult.
