I enjoyed watching this video of Claire in action in the wet footpath and muddy field . The headtorches are really good value for money , I like them all.

Nice video. Would you say Hoka gives you the best bang for the buck?
@wildgingerruns9 ай бұрын
Thanks! The Hoka is an impressive one yes, but personally I'd go for one that you can get a spare battery for, Hoka is charge only. So I think my choice would be the Petzl.Having said that, I did like the super light, compact black diamond one with the dimmer!

Great review. I have a very powerful lenser which I am yet to work out how it works as i ended up flashing when I try and turn off or off when I try and mke brighter. I’m also not a fan of the over the head thing, might try without. It’s a minefield!

Urgh does it have instructions? I hate reading them but it does help to!

@@wildgingerruns that's a good point... probably...

I had a knog once but threw it away in frustration. Too complicated. If they could just combine that silicon design with a more intuitive operation. I am now a happy Fenix-user ( HM65R-T and HL18R-T)

Agreed! You just need 3 settings and one button. Life's too short to read the instructions and remember a tonne of settings.

What is your recommendation Claire

I'd go for the Petzl as a great all rounder, or the Fenix for waterproof :) Hope that helps David!

👍👍hard job. But remember...ANSI norms!. Those lights are without stabilisation! The Led on 300 lumen , with 1hour run is hot, it need aluminium or cooper to distribute temperature from led. The best is Petzl, on 100 lumens is stable-after first maybe 15-20 , light output goes to 70-80 lumens per long time( on Aaa batery, li-on is beter). Cons of Petzl: hard to open batery cover and head strap buckle, you can lose it.Fenix hm 23 is the worst headtkrch in the world. Look at run graph in manual.

Just goes to show how much prices have gone up. I got a Petzl Actik Core last summer for £32. I believe it's a model up from the Tikka and includes the rechargeable battery (and 3 x aaa works too). 👍
