The old trailflys were always very good general purpose shoes, I’ve done all my road & trail running in them since the g270 came out, and I think most of us like the boomerang insole ? Maybe it’s a thing you have to get used to. The problem with the new range for some of us is the lack of a zero drop shoe. I think you have better feel and control on steep down hill surfaces with zero drop, and if you are used to zero drop then running on tired legs with an hunk of rubber on the sole is a really annoying.

100% agree with you Claire! I had the same insoles in the GT300 Ultra max and they do feel rough! I used their trail sock and was fine, but the sock are REALLY tight! and there is no bright green shoes now :(

Still gutted they stopped making the original trailfly. Currently buying up every pair I can find. I suppose I should yield and try these. Thanks for the review 😊

It’s a shame they dropped (hah!) the zero drop model, and the new ones have shorter lugs. It’s funny that you don’t like the boomerang insole, I think it’s great!

What heal raisers do you use because I’ve found that when I use them they strain my calves. Wide toe box is fantastic though.

The new trailfly are no longer zero drop (for better or worse) so you shouldn't need a heel raisers.

I had a pair from ultimate performance once, these amzn.to/4eidHo2 were good. I went for under the insole to reduce potential slipping but I think they're also sposed to be fine on top. The shoes I tested were 6mm drop though not zero, so as AshRolls says you might be ok?

Scott Jurek, how do you eat vegin without having nutritional deficiencies? Because my sister is vegin, and she is having trouble getting enough iron.
@wildgingerruns
@wildgingerruns 4 күн бұрын
Hi Joy, she might need iron supplements but be careful with those as they can make you constipated and affect the gut microbiome. Best to eat lots of leafy green veg and a combo of iron-rich food, plus vitamin C helps absorption oranges/orange juice helps - more info on iron-rich vegan foods here, google knows everything ;) www.vegansociety.com/resources/nutrition-and-health/nutrients/iron?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwjNS3BhChARIsAOxBM6rsrxRWmSJpjcgUE-2-KgWKrfVg0yyD029CZqguum77-2BYcOEhqdUaAoDMEALw_wcB Hope that helps! Is it overkill if I use a hydration vest with a 1.5 L water reservoir and drinking hose for trail half marathons? I mean, dang, I really feel like I need that much fluid for a 13 mile race especially hot humid summer races. Sometimes it can be an eternity until the next aid station….

Just a quick answer re the odour in T-shirts. Try pouring or spraying methylated spirits on the area (not a lot) then wash as normal. Do not dry in heat dryer but air dry is best. You might need to do this every second or third wash

Always take a bag AND a blanket. As Claire says, a bag can cover you and keeps your hands free. Add in the blanket and you can make a very basic shetler and it is perfect to signal with. In the Lake District, always pack for the heaviest of weather as it can hit you in minutes!

Ouch. Thanks for sharing. I stumbled up running up Easedale three weeks back and my god I was lucky just bruised ribs and avoided and head impact. These things happen. Lots of broken ankles makes you want to know how to avoid such injuries. I use poles a lot which have saved my more times that I could count. The Garmin subscription to SoS might now feature higher on my purchase list.
