Devin Ky Nintendo and Sony were rivals until Microsoft made the XBOX. Each of the three were evenly competitors, the 7th generation was more 360 VS PS3 and Nintendo was still there, the 8th generation is where Nintendo is not even much of a competitor. I believe Nintendo doesn't even want to be a competitor, they want to do their own little thing. Unless you mean handhelds.

Microsoft is better than Apple, but I still prefer having a mac because I use some programs only available for Mac, and I prefer the interface. Marvel is trendier at the moment because of the Avengers franchise, but they have a lot of pretty stupid movies too (all their movies that aren't Spider Man/Avengers related). They might have the majority of better movies at the moment, but none of them can beat The Dark Knight Dr Pepper > Coke and Pepsi.

Obviously there are fewer companies that compete on a worldwide basis. Take beer for example. A lot of countries tend to have their own brands of beer, e.g. heineken in Holland, fosters in australia, so either they will compete with the imported company or with other local ones.

You declare Apple the winner because they've done better with smartphones and tablets, yet you ignore desktops and laptops, which are still alive and still largely Windows machines. If you're going to jump to the mobile market, then you could at least acknowledge Apple's closest rival, Google. Anyway, I prefer Windows and Android machines because 1) they're usually cheaper while doing many of the same things just as well and 2) they're not intentionally designed to make users dependent on tech support.

There are Apple machines in my house, so I'm not speaking out of ignorance as you suggest. I generally like the concept of minimalist design, but I think Apple takes it too far. Whereas I can easily find advanced features and perform advanced operations in Windows, doing the same in an Apple OS can be an exercise in frustration. When I go on the internet to figure things out, it seems like resources for more advanced users are rather scarce.

i've liked apple since i was a kid. i have never once called tech support on anything apple. i've owned PC's in the past as well and they've always given me hardware trouble which is why i switched. when it comes to mobile phones i have apple only because of my apple computers if i'm being honest. android and iphone are both equally good i just went the apple route because of syncing all my info easily.
