I finished the Be Thankful Cardigan by Lily Kate France at the end of last year. A great cozy staple cardigan with a few fun details like interesting slip stitch ribbing. And lovely shaping on the balloon sleeves.

I am knitting a red Eva Cardigan right now for a friend, and the construction is so fun and beautiful. I can't wait to see it after blocking! On my 2024 list are a Ruska (yours inspired me, I have to have it) and a Sailor Cardigan that I watched Kaci from Young Folk Knits test.

For styling a high neck cardigan, if it buttons up you could also wear it fully buttoned up more like a blouse.

I really liked Maema cardigan. In my queue this year I have Naimh cardigan by Emily Greene. Last year I knit Siri cardigan by Linnéa and have worn it a lot. Thanks for a very nice episode.

I'm planning to knit the Timepiece Cardigan by Ailbiona McLochlainn. I'm really wanting to try one with more of a v neck look to it because I have a hard time keeping a regular crewneck cardigan up on my shoulders since they are quite narrow. I've knit two of Ailbiona's patterns and loved them, also I think my gauge tends to match hers which is so helpful as I'm typically a loose knitter. I love your round-up videos, they are so inspiring!!

I’m currently overcommitted with a sweater for myself and gloves for everyone I know.😂 After that, I am super excited to knit the Big Cozy Cardigan by Andrea Mowry, and I’m super looking forward to Laura Penrose’s cardigan that is knit from one sleeve to the other!❤❤

I knit 3 cardigans last year. My favorites were For Keeps by Samantha Guerin and Pressed Flowers. Right now I’m knitting Elah by Isabell Kraemer and next is Eva in EKF so I’ll see if I have the same gauge issues. I have more Cardigans on my list for later this year, but might swap them for some you mentioned.

So, I'm a new knitter that knows the basic s...I really like the Maika and the Eva.in your opinion, which one would be the best choice for a first sweater, or do you have another option for me? Thank you for taking the time to answer!!

I would recommend a pullover first! If you do a simple raglan (such as the Flax by Tin Can Knits) you can gain a basic understanding of construction and then go from there! I find cardigans are slightly more complex as you’re knitting most of them flat. And a bonus, the Flax is a free pattern!
