I did not hear anything about St Vincent and the Grenadines, especially the 32 Grenadines islands. When you are in the St Vincent you can hop from one Grenadines island to another without a passpost. You can snorkel in the beautiful turquoise water, and bathe in the sun on the white sandy beach. You can eat fresh and popular fruits like mangos sugar apples plums and many more. The people are very hospitable. It's a nice place to retire.

I left Chicago 11+ years ago for Panama (Santiago de Veraguas-4 hrs from Panama City), and never looked back, no regrets! My cost of living is low, quality of life is high, much less stress than matrix USA. Isla Colon is a Party destination for college-age tourists and backpackers now, and was much different when I first started coming to Panama over 30 years ago.

I used to live in Grenada and it is a very beautiful island but its VERY SMALL industry and activities are limited and it is not as cheap as some will think. Jamaica on the other hand is AMAZING!!!!!!!!! Its the LARGEST English speaking Caribbean island who's beauty knows no bounds. The people are friendly and there is PLEANTY to do. You will never get bored. The only thing that might be really terrible is the misleading news that occasionally comes out about the country. Jamaica is certainly my choice of retirement destination.

You're obviously very proud of your island but it does come across as a bit biased + inter-island rivalry eg why the capitals for the sizes of both islands? To someone retiring from North America, UK, etc, Jamaica will be tiny - a reason they may want to go there ie easy to get around/navigate, smaller communities, etc. Why the other words in capitals? Would be grateful if you could give examples what makes it amazing or what's the pleanty to do - would be really helpful. You say the news is misleading, again can you provide some reassuring facts for retirees as when I did my research I came across official data. Thanks

Research. Research. Research. But to get you started you might consider Nicaragua the largest country in Central America. Granada, Nicaragua where I lived for 3 months is very nice and very affordable. Most people there speak English and youncan live comfortably there on $1,500 or even less! Another one is Cambodia in Southeast Asia where I lived for 3 months. English is understood in Siem Reap and Phnom Penh. Your $1,500 a month will work there too with money left over. Lastly, I’d recommend the Philippines where I lived for almost 3 years. A bit more expensive than the previous two but not by much. I love the Philippines and it is an English-speaking country! Good luck.

I was just about to make a comment about Puerto Rico. PR is one of the best tax havens for american's & the cost of living is very affordable. I also have to agree with you about the USVI as well. Another Common Wealth of the US. And you don't need a passport for PR & I'm assuming for the USVI. And in order to get that tax advantage, all you have to do is live there 186 days out of the year but you must be a Puerto Rican citizen. I'm definitely moving there once this pandemic subsides & live there half the year, then go Island hopping the other half of the year, along with traveling through East Asia, Australia, Europe & Africa. I'm doing it all. This pandemic got me appreciating that life isn't to be wasted on BS anymore. Get to living & less dying. Salud fam.

@@bigacellc8802 I'm guessing you meant Puerto Rico residency. Puerto Rico citizenship has never existed in all history.....they were Spanish citizens from 1493 until 1898, then US Colony. US citizenship was extended to Puerto Rico in 1917, and in 1943 SCOTUS confirmed that being born in PR is the same as being born in the US, birthright citizenship. I hear you.....I'm also planning on moving around the world on when my Wife retires in 2021. We are heading to Malaga Spain for a year or 2, then Philippines for a year or 2. FYI Trinidad 🇹🇹 is THE BEST PLACE FOR CARNIVAL. It was originated there 🇹🇹. the other countries are copes of the original celebration. Still band (still pan) was also originated in Trinidad 🇹🇹. Tobago is a mini vacation paradise.

Key West? Expensive and Touristy. Seems if you're going to chose an Island in the Keys, this would be the last one. Have you checked the crime rate of Trinidad? Very dangerous place there were zero tourists when I spent time there. Barbados is very expensive, as a couple of other of your picks. I don't think you did much research to come up with this list. I've been to most of these places, and it's not all easy breezy like you're making them sound.

I did research but from your comment it's obvious you have no idea of what you're talking about. You sound like someone who has not left her neighborhood that much. I don't think retirement is for you. You should probably keep working since you have that "can't do" attitude.

@@PassportKings wow you are a jerk. I don't think you've every left" your neighborhood" Insulting, hmmm good luck with your phony You tube Channel. I'm sure you've never done any research about your claims. I've travelled and have a good idea about what I'm talking about .But, tell us, where have you been? Keep on insulting people ,that's all you've got.

Um no, on Key West .....it is hurricane alley......and only one road to get out. If a hurricane is 5 days out, and might hit, then you have to leave.......what a nightmare.

Don't do it,!! Home prices are higher than Miami and Palm Beach Florida. Not to mention Food. Crime is bad too.

The real estate in Trinidad is a rip off... they charge the same price as America, but it's just the structure... you have to purchase your own appliances, lighting etc.... it's not like the USA, where it comes with stove, dishwasher, garbage disposal lights etc...research before you buy... people here are not aware of this.... they end up paying 500k and still have to buy appliance, and do front landscaping......very deceiving.... food and groceries are charged at USA prices....

What about the USVI? I would think that a person(s) from the U.S. looking to retire in the Caribbean would be an easy transition to retire to. It's under U.S. rule, they accept the U.S. dollar, no need for a passport for friends and family visitors.
@SemajSemaj

For sure ! I lived in the USVI for many years.. I think it's actually the best place to live in the Caribbean as an American compared to all of those other islands by far! Have been to all of those islands he listed.. The USVI has 3 different islands with many many other ones like the BVI close by to explore and adventure to all the time.. so you really never get bored! Some of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean.. USVI are pure paradise if you know how to live naturally & take advantage of moving around close by 💯
