@@laurantstutorials4233 for the rally i dont think that it is to expensive to go somewhere and give yourself a try to see how is rally.You're gonna start inside first take some lessons in a class and then you have to pay 100£ to give you the MSA license and of course you have to learn everything on the book and see a DVD that included in rhere and once you pass you will have the license and the last test you must pass is the BARS test and if you pass this one too,you are ready to start your first rally lessons.First things to buy for yourself are the suit,gloves,helmet,boots and HANS device..all these go for 1.000£.You can find many informations in Google just do a good research for everything you want for the motorsport.Mostly later in rally you will have to buy yourself a used rally car or build one by yourself,but its more easier and cheaper to buy a used rally car.

I remember years ago, a work colleague at the time had just past his test at 24 years old and was looking at a Peugeot 106 hatchback with either a 1 litre or 1.1 litre engine and a Renault 21 estate with a 2 litre engine, it turned out the bigger car was the same cost to insure as the 106 as the Renault wasn't considered a boy racers type car even though it had nearly double the engine capacity, so as he regularly went fishing and shooting, he chose the estate car, never assume a smaller car with a small engine will be cheaper, do some research on several different class of car, because you'll be surprised what is cheaper, another option is look at cars popular with women, they usually are cheaper to insure in a lot of cases.

Have a look at the Toyota Yaris SR 1.8. I own one myself. Extremely cheap to insure for 17 year olds. It weighs 975kg so under a ton, but has 133bhp stock power. Now that’s immense power for a car under 1 ton. And for a 17 year old. You ca find higher millage ones for under £1000 but a decent one is from £1500-2000. It has a stated figure of 9.5 second to 60 however this is understated from Toyota. The actual time is 7.5seconds to 0-60. They are rare cars and amazing sleepers. They are not like your usual Yaris. It’s the only Yaris produced in Japan and not France, it has the same engine as in the Lotus Elise but not supercharged. It’s a real pocket rocket. People think it’s a 1.8 must be expensive to insure, however it isn’t true. Give it a go and you’ll be amazed.

As a car enthusiast, I recommend going for a small cheap car. Such as the Peugeot 206, I have it and I can say that it's pretty amazing if u handle it well. Never get a new car as your first because I can tell u that if u crash it, u will not like the cost of it without a proper insurance. Plus, small older cars will save u a lot of money in the long run. Want proof? I pay a little over 60€ in taxes for the car and about 200€ with a FULL insurance. So take my advice, go for it :)

I live in the UK and got a 1.8i NA (mk1) mx5 at 18 as my first car and it costs me just over £80 a month coming to about £1000 for the year and that is without a blackbox and this could have been even cheaper if I paid in full. I love the mx5 NA model and have always wanted them ever since I got into cars, so of course I was curious to find out how much they costed 😅 Don't just feel like the only cars you can get at the age of 17/18 are 1.2 etc hatchbacks. If that's what you're looking for then by all means get something like a polo (they were actually my second choice) but if you want something different, go on comparison websites and just have a look, it takes next to no time and isnt going to hurt anyone so why wouldnt you! Let me tell you this, insurance is weird, for example, on mx5 that was exactly the same as mine apart from the colour costed just over £3000 to insure but mine only costs a third so for whatever car you are looking at, dont just think that all of that type of car will cost the amount of the first one you look at because they don't. Do lots of research on the cars that you might want and look for common problems and reliability because a car might be cheap to buy but very expensive to maintain (i.e. any BMW, Audi and Mercedes) Just know that changing small things on a quote can drastically change the price both ways, but some things might not affect it much at all. The moral of the story is do research and look at things that you might not expect to be cheap, obviously nothing crazy though 😂 if it's not a popular first car it can be very cheap, I dont understand the logic but trust me! P.S. great video, subbed to the chaneel 😄 Good day to you all and I hope I have helped you!

I would personally have a 1st gen Smart Forfour (W454) on this list, they are available as a 1.1 I3 (75hp) with a 5 speed manual. The insurance is £1400 per year for me but this in Northern Ireland, I have friends here who pay £1600+ for insurance on 1.2 Clios. The Forfour has an unusual design with many different specs on the second hand market, its plenty of fun to drive with stiffer suspension similar to a mini. On forums owners are quoted as saying a Forfour will rust away before the drive train gives in, and Forfours do not rust.

Old is best. I bought an old Austin Maestro. Cost a grand, insurance was about £800. If something goes wrong it's an Austin A-Series engine (same as a Mini or a Metro) so parts are hugely available and very cheap. Theres nothing electronic or hydralically assisted so theres very little to go wrong and if it does you can mend it yourself. It's lightweight which means its alot of fun to drive and the '80s styling is coming back into fashion, it generally gets complimented. The issues to watch out for are rust in the arches (replacement panels are about £40 and just bolt on) and safety features as there are none. So being observant when driving is very important, you are the crumple zone. Fortunately the brakes are easy to upgrade as they made hot MG versions, these can be swapped out and make the car feels much safer. You also have to learn how to maintain a carburettor and use a choke. It's also not going to depreciate in value as prices are climbing pretty rapidly at the moment.
@CarsWithJB4 жыл бұрын
Agreed - I don't yet feel able to make a video on older cars that are good for young drivers to insure because there are a lot out there! But sounds like you're winning with that Austin!
