I find with comics like any other market you have to diversify. Don’t put all your money into 1 comic. Buy a large range of comics, this will give you a greater chance to have gains. Ex. I purchased FF48-50 over a year ago. 48 and 49 have seen big gains, but 50 not so much.

Hey this is Bob in Connecticut I have put up some comments before because I gave up bartending about 10 years ago because of comic books. I just want to say any of the old key comic books they are out of most peoples price range. Right now X-Men and Spiderman are in total control. look what happened to amazing fantasy 15 I got my 6.0 a few years ago in New York for only $4000. There is a trickle down effect on amazing fantasy 15 because 9.4 just sold recently for $1.2 million. My 6.0 just sold for $96,000 I don’t think I’m ever selling my copy . X-Men 1 yes that is beyond belief because I paid $300 for an ungraded carpet in about 15 years ago at the comicon in New York. There is a 5.0 right now on eBay that is that $23,000 with a couple of days left. My sister told me to sell a comic book and get a brand new Corvette or a Dodge Challenger RT I don’t want a Lamborghini🤣🤣🤣

What do you think of investing in the Alex Ross Timeless variants?
@CoMoComicBooks3 жыл бұрын
Hey Bill! I don’t see much spec value for them at face value. If there was some unusual combination of popular character and unusually small print run for that particular variant, then maybe, but nothing here is on my radar beyond simply being desirable to fans of the featured character or Ross’ art.
@billgober23 жыл бұрын
@@CoMoComicBooks it just seems like stores are already selling out of them and I'm seeing certain ones jump to $15 from $4 or $5 already. Being a variant isn't the print run already lower?
@billgober23 жыл бұрын
I mean I could be wrong but even if they go from $5 to $25 in a couple years that's a 5x return
@CoMoComicBooks3 жыл бұрын
@@billgober2 in the short term, I could see where people looking to complete sets would pay a premium for some of the harder to find or more desirable issues. In the long term, outside of collectors working on a set or just fans of Ross’ art I don’t see where these have much staying power. Some will be worth more than cover price, the majority probably will be worth less. There are exceptions to every rule of course, but that is typically what one would expect on a long running series of variants such as these, especially if there weren’t ratio requirements to over come to order them. I don’t know much about them to be honest, as I don’t play the variant game 99.9% of the time.

@@CoMoComicBooks that makes sense. I know the sketch ones have a 1:100 ratio so those will probably be the pricier issues.

Out of this list. I have avengers annual 10 raw and waiting to get it graded. I used to have that Thor book but sold it years ago before it took off. She hulk I have no interest to invest in. ASM 361. I sold my 9.8 a couple years ago for 300 and really regret it. Sandman 1. I have as a 9.8 Deadly hands of Kung fu. Never heard of it Hulk 340. I got a year ago as a 9.6 and I am seeing a nice 200% gain I’m not buying a he-man book. Same reason why I won’t buy gi joe, transformers, Rick and Marty, thunder cats, power rangers, ect X-men 141, I just bought a copy this month at 9.6 along with x-men 142 at a 9.6. X-men 141 goes for almost double then 142 at that grade. Daredevil 131 - I should probably get that. I think we’ll see wilson Fisk rejoin the MCU and then bullseye will be along with him.
