What I know is that the ficus elastica/rubber tree has two green varieties: Robusta - Light green/normal green. This is the closest cultivar to the rubber trees you find in nature. Burgundy - the one you have which has a deeper green colour

Omg, maranta lemon lime is soo rare where I live (Europe). I wish It wasn't. It costs around 180$ for a medium sized one and 40$ for a 1-2 leaf cutting. The other maranta (fascinator) which is basically the same, with orange instead of light green stripes, costs 5 bucks and You can buy it pretty much everywhere. I'm waiting for the price of a lemon lime to become reasonable.

My very favorite houseplant that I own is my hoya compacta hindu rope. She has doubled in size since I got her last year. I only paid $9.99 at walmart for her and she is a full hanging basket. Her trails are so long/twice as long now ....& her growth has amazed me because I thought she would be a slow grower since she is a hoya. ....but nope. She grows so fast and is absolutely beautiful. I have her hung at the top of my north facing bathroom window and her trails go three quarters of the way down the window. She is so healthy, shiny, and has never had a single pest issue. Plus I have a feeling she will be producing flowers very soon.🌸 I'm so proud of her. (Can ya tell? lol) 😊😍😊🥰

Sedum Burrito (the one you have) - Pointier leaves Sedum Morganianum - Rounder shorter leaves The S Morganianum is usually nicknamed Donkey's Tail, and S Burrito is usually nicknamed Burro's Tail. Yeah they mean the same thing, and the nicknames are probably interchangeable. Same growing environment and pretty much the same care. I don't think the nicknames matter much, since they're so similar, apparently even botanists think that one of them might just be a mutation of the other. Sorry if someone already commented about these plants.

I just chopped my ficus elastica into about 8 cuttings today 😬. I never liked how it grew, just one stalk in the pot, which I cut the top off of once before, and it grew back but never branched off, which is what I was hoping for. So I'm hoping my propagations take and that I can eventually have a bushier plant 🤞🏼
@wildfern4 жыл бұрын
Ooo amazing! I have not propagated them before - is it difficult?

@@wildfern I don't know yet, I haven't done it before.... I did cut the top off once to try for some branching out, but I didn't propagate the top portion. So now, I have a top cutting that has 3 leaves, and the rest are single leaf cuttings, cut the same way we would propagate philodendron or anything else, below the nodes, leaving a piece of stem on all of the cuttings. We'll see!!

My favorite common/underrated ones are actually crotons!! I find they want the same amount of care as calathea/maranta usually like (staying moist, lots of light and humidity) even though everyone says they’re hard to care for, and grow so gorgeously! I find that they’re not hard to care for, they just like being doted on. Ever since I figured out what it liked, it grew so many huge leaves. I don’t like the most common variety much, but I looooove the magnifica one, it’s insanely gorgeous and the colors are so pretty, and not ones I usually see outside of autumn, so I love keeping it in my house. And it’s fairly common still, since I got it at Lowe’s here in the US.
@van.gravies4 жыл бұрын
One that idk if it’s common, but is definitely underrated because I’d never heard of it prior to finding it in a store, is a Dracaena White Bird. I dropped dead when I saw it because of how gorgeously variegated the leaves are, and the way the leaves kind of spiral. It’s my new favorite in my house at the moment

Maranta Lemon Lime is hard to find not only in the UK, but also in whole Europe. I live in Poland and a mature plant is worth even 250 PLN (something about 70 USD). That's very rare and expensive plant here compared to variegated maranta for example (about 50 PLN which means 19 USD). To give you a better look at how much it is, a nice cutting of variegated monstera deliciosa costs 150 PLN (40,2 USD) and a rooted and potted variegated monstera deliciosa with 2-3 leafs costs 250 PLN (70 USD).
