In 1981, Peter Dudley, who played Bert Tilsley (Gail's former father-in-law), was convicted of importuning in a public toilet (cottaging). Later the same year, the actor was charged with a similar offence, but he died before the case was heard in court. He was 48 years old.

The police set up the second so called offence, for which Dudley was innocent. He took it to the Crown Court where the police constables lied. The jury could not decide so the judge ordered a re-trial. It was as a result of the stress of all of this make-believe dreamt up by some over-eager coppers that Dudley suffered a stroke then later a couple of heart attacks, the last of which proved fatal.

This one REALLY goes back a bit! Peter Adamson played Len Fairclough between 1961 and 1983. However, his character was killed off when he was accused of Indecent Assault, even though he was subsequently found Not Guilty. However, Adamson had been in trouble with producers several times before as a result of alcoholism. He was suspended for 2 months without pay in 1969 whilst he sorted himself out.

@@PINKKYLIELOUISE Actually, it's because he asked for a loan from the producers to help cover his legal costs - they were all set to give him a cheque for £10,000 as a loan, when he admitted that he'd actually received £120,000 from The S*n/News Of The World for his memoirs, in which he slagged off the cast and crew!

The first one was a scandal because the media made it so. They decided it was a scandalous act and framed their articles (aka attacks) accordingly. The act its self isn't scandalous to most people these days, but there was A scandal.

There's a part missing from the Bill Roache incident, some point after he did this really weird ramble in an interview about sex victims bringing on their circumstances with things they did in their past lives. I think he should have been sacked purely for that. I'd understand if he was frustrated and angry if he was falsely accused but that's not the way to fight back, at all.

That first girl looked older than Sarah. That wasn't a strange sacking but was a strange hiring in the first place but good to see it didn't deter the actress herself or Corrie on carrying on with the character with an age appropriate actress

The best mother i ever saw had her first baby at 16. she is in her 30s now and has 3 well brought up kids . So whats the big deal about people having kids young . Not ideal but they have stood up and taken responsibility

Because they are children themselves, also the dad is never around - plus it seems to be certain class of society who do this. There are exceptions but for the most part the kids are dragged up rather than brought up. Not to mention the financial burden - which the tax payer takes.

Daisy where did they push her up from, they just have the same characters except different people. As for Seb coming back from the dead how did they get away with the list mortem. Every single British "soap" is just awful. The acting is awful ,the writing is terrible and watching any of these shows makes me cringe , I can not believe people actually find shows like these entertaining. Everything they show is extremely unrealistic. I feel sorry for anyone who enjoys these shows because it just shows how detached people are from reality if someone can relate to a show like that.
