Today, we count down The Top 10 Creative Choices made in the Super Mario Bros Movie.
*This was a very tricky video to produce; it took multiple exports and uploads to get it up... after a few more fixes and failed uploads, I went through and added another 40 images/gifs and a couple crops... then the audio was all distorted/high pitched from uploading at 200% speed, even when using the playback setting at .5 speed (unlike in the video editor, which made it sound normal again)**
So another 40 crops or so and minor change to 103% speed.. Seems to be okay for now...

Great list man! #1 for me would have to be the score, with all its nods and callbacks to classic Mario games. Got me right in the feels. Also, during the Mario Kart scene where he drops off the side of the track to a lower portion farther down, I believe that’s a nod to the classic unintended shortcut and speed run strat from MK64. So cool that they threw such a deep cut reference in there. Yeah, I loved the film too and it made my daughter (who has zero interest in video games) an instant Mario fan. I bought her a princess peach T-shirt the next day after seeing it lol

Heck yeah! It was full of amazing music! And all of those nods, you’re so right.. the Rainbow Road shortcut was epic as heck, along with the Bowser tail grab, yeah they went full send!! Dude I love hearing that bc Peach was such a good character! She was tougher but not annoying or obnoxious, like it wasn’t a Toy Story 2 cowgirl shouting.. confusing loudness with leadership.. she’s a good female role model! lol They surprised me with a lot but did such a great job

Great selections of music, and I admire the effort getting this on KZbin! My favorite part was your #4. Totally a blast. I might even call it a barrel blast. :) I wasn't fond of your #1, though I agree it was memorable. It was actually my least favorite aspect of the movie. Felt weird and unnecessarily dark, especially for a movie that so many kids would see. I just don't think it's wise for little kids to think it's alright to joke about wanting to die.

I loved number 4! It could be argued as #1. I totally get what you’re saying, it came off as the most shocking and “don’t test how hardcore and sophisticated we can be, even with the cutest of characters.” I especially like the character reactions to this Luma Star, they show how ridiculous and unhelpful he’s being with his poor attitude! I wouldn’t like it if they cheered him on, you know what I mean? He was a hardcore form of comic relief in a very dire hostage situation.. I felt compelled to put the most surprising thing up there at #1, hope that makes sense!

@@MarMaxGaming That's a good point about how the other characters were pointing out how unhelpful the attitude was. And absolutely, it was definitely surprising and memorable! You do great top 10s dude!

I'm really glad that I finally watched the movie just two days ago. I had no idea that this video was in the works. Definitely agree with you on all points too. It's such a great time; there was never a moment where I wasn't smiling. Jack Black as Bowser absolutely steals the show, though I also quite like what they have done with Peach. My favorite touch would have to be Mario and Luigi spinning Bowser by the tail just like in Super Mario 64. It's nice that the kids of today are getting something this high in quality for a video game adaptation. It makes for an insanely stark contrast to the 1993 Super Mario Bros film. Which I will admit that I somehow adored as a kid with it being my most rented movie from Blockbuster back in the day. It might be interesting to rewatch now for the sake of comparison.

Cult classic for sure, a lot of people have fond memories of it. This one was finally super loyal to the games but still fun for casuals too!
