Doesn't make sense for me too. If they were cannibals, they would eat each other. So eating pigs or cows isn't considered cannibalism. So technically, they may be omnivorous as humans, but not cannibals. Mainly because ponies in the show have a lot of human characteristics, they are just adapted for equine anatomy.

my top list of darkest mlp in cannon 1. Swamp fever (a contagious plague) 2. Mirror pool (only one may live hopefully it's not the real you) 3. Tantabus (fear into peoples minds) 4. Tartrus (hellish place maybe even torture (they put a pg rating for it but clearly it's a kids show however, Tartrus adult version is much more in depth and is much far scary) 5. I still remember being shocked when I first saw the Too Many Pinkies episode. These Pinkie Pie clones/copies are shown to be able to think and speak; and to me, that means there're alive, even if you were to assume their body was composed of ‘magical energy’ or something like that, instead of biology as we know it. (Coincidentally, this also places most version of “vampire” or similar “undead”, firmly in the category of “living”, for me.) Meaning that what Twilight was doing, is highly suspect, morally. And on top of that, I want to point to the reason *why* Twilight needed to use a test to separate the ‘real’ Pinkie from the others. This says to me, that the abominable spell she used to get rid the the excess Pinkies, could have harmed or outright killed the ‘real’ Pinkie if she were hit. And this brings me to the next part… How is the ability to stare at a wall, meant to test for essential ‘Pinkie-ness’? The only answer I can think of, is that it can't. And so, we arrive at the True Horror… Did Twilight unilaterally decide that Pinkie and the extras were identical? Did she come to the conclusion, in that strange, obsessive mind of hers, that the world should only have one Pinkie Pie? Did she set up the “test” as a ruse, to “prove” that she had the right Pinkie in the end, as a bit of theater, while she just outright murders enough copies of her friend, that there is only one left? Did she kill the Pinkie Pie Prime, the original? And how does this reflect on the psychology of the mind that decided on this course of action? Is Pinkie really the “crazy one” of the bunch, or is she outshone by another?

the fake ones didn't understand that not watching the paint dry would result in their death, or them being abandoned by friends. they were basically mature babies, they didn't have any knowledge or friendship. that's why the test was that, bc only the real Pinkie would sit still long enough for her friends and to prove that she was the real one. i don't think Twilight had ill intent.

Hmm… Reading "they didn't have any friendship" sparked an idea. Perhaps there a certain metaphysical rules as part of magic, that Twilight has learned and studied, but which are hidden and not mentioned to the viewer. Or perhaps I haven't made the connection… Is friendship magic? Or rather: Is friendship a specific flavor of magic, with special properties that makes copying it impossible even by such an artifact as the mirror pool? Although, another thought I had, was that Twilight is simply operating with a terribly different understanding of how a mind works. How would the field of psychology differ in a world like hers? I mean, yikes! They actually have, I assume, different, or at least, additional, physical laws. (Not all of which may necessarily be called magic.) How would their presence and study affect psychology? Another thing I just realized, is that I was working under the poor assumption that the copies are lossless clones of Pinkie Pie. Did Twilight use some secret knowledge to help devise the test, by exploiting a flaw in the copies? (I really don't like secret knowledge, when it pertains to what passes for physics.) Maybe that's what you're saying… (Assumptions are so annoyingly sneaky.)

Okay so in the first one, the figure seen in the castle of the two sisters wasn't the Pony of shadows... he was still trapped in the alternet dimension with the Pillars. And the shadow figure shown had yellow eyes and didn't physically resemble the Pony of shadows at all.

Draconicus the Reaper if I can remember tirek was freed in season two episode 20 it’s about time when twilight was messing with a time travelling spell which create paradox where future twilight tries to warn past twilight of a disaster which she ignorantly didn’t listen to which lead to a series of chain of events one of which caused Cerberus to leave is post giving tirek the opportunity to escape by the end of the episode twilight decided to use the same time travel spell that her future version of her used bring it full circle again as for tirek he was probably hiding out at the old royal sisters castle and was probably trying to avoid getting seen by the mane six when they were searching for clues on the hidden keys that open the friendship chest that would lead to the creation of the friendship castle at the time some of the traps that was set off could have been tirek in order to get rid of them so they won’t discover him and tell any pony of his whereabouts so that he can avoid the info eventually getting to Princess Celestia and Luna ears if they caught wind of him hiding at there old castle they would have took immediate action and apprehended then and there

How exactly could the remnants of Nightmare Moon's magic have corrupted Stygian into the Pony of Shadows if the Pony of Shadows was banished to limbo when Celestia and Luna were still fillies, before Discord took over Equestria? Regarding Garble, he may only have killed Starlight in a fantasy... but he still has genuinely done truly dark things. In Dragon Quest, he made it clear he likes destroying eggs from birds nests for fun, so he is killing creatures regularly and likes doing it. Then there's the time in Gauntlet of Fire, where he was forcing Twilight and Rarity towards the edge of a drop into lava. Sure, Twilight could easily have teleported herself and Rarity away or flown them to safety, but put any Earth Pony in their place and they would be goners. Garble is a psychopathic murderer.

The fact that all of equestira went into a state of depression and resource shortages over the war with King Sombra in one of Starlight’s other timelines I’d say was pretty dark. It was like world war pony. In fact, IMO, all of the timelines starlight created were pretty dark. Especially the last one we saw where there was literally no life and it was just a barren wasteland.

1:39 - When it comes to the whole Pony of Shadows cliffhanger in the Castle Mane-ia episode, I'm more than certain at the time of its making/airing, the ominous shadow at the end of the episode was more of a foreshadowing towards Tirek at the end of the same season. He has golden eyes that glow with the contrast of the black of his sclera, and when he escaped Tartarus and first started devouring magic, he was seen wearing something hooded; much like what the shadow appears to have, and so forth. The story turned out to be true, though. Hence Stygian, obviously, but it was an entirely separate encounter of someone else when it came to the Season 4 appearance.

The show staff confirmed “hotdog” means “veggie dog” in Equestria. Also, the sheep represent “NEETs” (to use a Japanese term), while bovines represent people who are mentally handicapped but still productive citizens. That’s my best guess, anyway. EDIT: also, real horses are omnivores. Don’t believe me? Watch the video of the horse that eats a chicken. Or look up the historical accounts of horses going insane and eating people. Some mules eat small animals that annoy them, such as yappy dogs.

The 28 pranks later episode gave me nightmares for days! Since its a "homage" (don't know if I can call a homage) my mind got the episode too damn close to the movie and it was terrifying. Another moment that I found truly horror is *Cozy Glow* The show talked about friends and power and blablabla... She's a completely psychopath: manipulating ponies, calculating her goals and strategies, tactical approach (that key of unfathered entrance was a tactical decision. The cataloging of the relics was a tactical move. She knows her stuff)... She made every bit of calculation and strategy for her goals, which *almost* came true. Glad ponies are not simple minded and have critical thinking. Showing a bit of this kind of behavior in a sweet cartoon for me was hell. If I had kids and the asked me about this character... How do you explain to a child that there are people who will use you, manipulate you even blackmail you, or worse, to attain their goals?!

What about King Sombra's "defeat?" The crystal Empire part two sorta shows him physically decimated. It goes by very quickly but you can pause it and see some of himself scattered apart, But it's mainly his clothing. Or the mane six that melt in the tree of harmony (That scene was so disturbing it had to be censored, but they didn't censor much)

Honestly a lot of the alternate timelines in the season 6 finale freaked me out. In the first one, we see a really creepy Ponyville, Sweet Apple Acres has been converted into a polluting factory, Sugarcube Corner is now BREAD Corner, and, probably the most terrifying of all, RAINBOW DASH IS MISSING PART OF HER EAR! Plus, in one timeline, there's just nothing there. There's literally just darkness and all of the mane six are probably dead!
