Oh I have a few fun recs. They are captor/captive but I wouldn't say they were dark. So if you want a little lighter captor/captive stories definitely check them out. 1) Does it hurt? by H. D. Carlton. In this one the girl is running away. In doing so and in order to survive and fly under the radar she sleeps with men and then she steels their identity. So she does this to the hero. He finds out and a few days later they bump into each other again. He decides to get revenge. So he acts like he doesn't know and takes her on his boat in open water. There he reveals his true intentions. There's a dubcon scene there. And then they are caught in a storm. In his heist to "get her" he didn't check the weather. So the boat goes down and they end up in a deserted island with a light house. There is a creepy dude that lives there and he won't let them leave. So it's captor times two. 2) Beauty in deception by Charmaine Pauls. This is light mafia. The hero hates this guy because he wronged him. So he decides to kidnap his daughter. Only he kidnaps the daughter's body double. And it's their love story. I loved this one! 3) Daughter of the pirate King by Tricia Levenseller. This one is more ya historical. It doesn't have any spice but it's really fun. We have the daughter of the pirate King who has her own ship. Her and her crew get captured by other pirates. They plan to sell her back to her father. But secretly she got captured on purpose so she can snoop around for a piece of a treasure map. The love story is her with the second in command who is the brother of the captain and is responsible for getting information out of her. And 4) Whispers in the dark by LeTeisha Newton. Now this is dark and I didn't like it as much (3 stars) but it's captor/captive so I thought I would mention it. We have this girl. When she is 16 she gets kidnapped by a man. He kidnaps young girls, rapes them, beats them and when he gets bored of them he kills them and gets a new one. Now from one of these girls he had a son. He raised him in isolation basically and then son thinks that this is all normal. Anyway the son and the girl manage to kill the man. He takes the blame and goes to jail. She changes name and city. After 10 years he goes to find her because he thinks they are in love. TW for rape, murder and torture for this one.
