Assistant to the Villain I ended up loving lol I don't do regular romance or rom com stuff but this book was hilarious. I was pleasantly surprised. But thanks again for adding like 4 more books to my TBR with this video! 👀

Thanks for your videos! I read the Drowned Empire series by Frankie Mallis. While it can sometimes get a bit repetitive with the characters internal monologues, overall, I thought it was fun and look forward to the final book coming out. I really liked Ryhan, the male lead. Very slow burn.

Loved Hanging City. The characters are so likable, and the romance is tastefully done, imo. Other fantasy romance books I enjoyed this past year are Divine Rivals and a River Endless (both by Rebecca Ross), and What the River Knows by Isabel Ibañez.

Now watching your videos makes me want to read all the time and collect the beautiful special edition there are. Thank you for sparking the flame again for me!!!

I heard a lot of negative things about Lightlark too. But when I read it those negative things didn’t make sense to me anymore. It’s definitely YA, but it was a good read. I’m waiting for my hold for book 2 to come in from the library. Not a 5 star but I liked it enough to continue with the series!

I am addicted to anything Dramione! My favorites aside from Manacled are: breath mints and battle scars. Isolation. Ten out of ten. Remain nameless and apple pie and other amends. But i can go on and on … For original fiction, The bridge kingdom series was my favorite read for this year so far. I especially loved book 3 - The Inadequate Heir. The Serpent and The Wings of Night series are next on my TBR. Still undecided whether to read the Throne of Glass series maybe 2025? My kindle is a mish-mashed of FF and original fiction.

And I am reading assistant to the villain right now and it’s not an urban fantasy. It’s set in this fairytale world, and one of the villains men is training a dragon there. There is also magic. I’m halfway through it and it’s very cute. I don’t think it’s very funny though but very enjoyable. I recommend it.

I agree, it's not super funny but it is super cute especially the frog 😂

I did not get Hurricane Wars! I don’t look books up too much beyond what the plot was and i immediately picked up in Star Wars vibes and I’m not big on that. I wound up DNFing because I was getting lost. But LOVED Lightlark and the sequel.

When The Moon Hatched, I wanted to like it, but it was just ehhh. It was so wordy and confusing 😕. It comes kinda together at the end.
@ExLibris-Alys7 ай бұрын
I think the word you’re looking for with regard to the use of too many words is ‘verbose’. I dnf’d that book because not only was it ‘wordy’, but it was overly so, if that can be a thing 😁

When the Moon Hatched broke my brain. I was seriously questioning my ability to read ... I don't do audio books but maybe that would have worked better for this book. 40 pages in and I DNFed it. Sorry to anyone who likes it. Honestly, I just think her writing is not for me :)

Ever Queen has been mediocre so far, and I stopped reading a couple of weeks ago and almost forgot about it. I’ll get back to it, but perhaps jumping into the hard after the very good book 1 narration is also impacting my opinion. When the Moon Hatched deserves all the stars, stick with it. You really should get into the Lady of Darkness series. There is another universe The Legacy Series where the crossover is done right (much better than in Crescent City).

Ahhh okay, I loved the first Lady of Darkness book but never continued after that - I’ll def give it another try!

I wanted to love WTMH and I did like the story overall but I really disliked the writing style. So many stunted sentences and italics. It made it feel over the top in a bad way. If every word needs to be said with so much emphasis it waters down the actually important thoughts and moments. I wonder if the trad pub will change any of that. It was so unnecessary.

Can I just be a negative Nancy here and say I feel like "when the Moon hatched" was one big giant waste of my life/time. I listened.to it on audible.too. 13/20 hours of it. I couldn't even pay attention 3/4 of the time. Was just sooooooo boring
