the 1990s were a great decade in cinema history. We were blessed with some truly great actors and movies. People like Robin williams and tom hanks were able to play both dramatic and comic roles and both do it extremely well. Robin Williams 1951-2014

Randy White well many actors had some more than one important decade in their careers and I think Watch mojo was trying to pick just one decade per actor. RDJ had two important decades in his career the 2000s well the end of the of the 00s and the 2010s. He was much more present in the whole 2010s but had more stuff in his resume in the late 2000s, his whole presence in the 2010s is due to Iron Man while in the late 2000s he got his big comeback with Iron Man, Sherlock Holmes and Tropic Thunder. Brad Pitt has also had two super important decades in his career the 90s and 2000s and maybe even 2010s. In the 90s he was a heartthrob, in the 2000s he was the heartthrob who can act and in the 2010s is now a great actor with an Oscar

jim carrey was definitely the primary defining face of comedy in the 90's. in a period of just 5 years in the 90's he made 9 comedies, and all of them were popular. he earned that number 2 spot. it's not about how good he is at acting, it's about defining the decade, and he defined comedy back in the 90's.

Totally agree with where you put Tom Hanks. "Forrest Gump" is a classic, no other word to describe it. And am I the only one who finds Jim Carrey's "comedic" roles anything but? He can act, as was shown when he was Scrooge in "A Christmas Carol", but when he tries to be funny, I just find him annoying. He's like the class clown that kept mugging for attention from the teacher and didn't know when to just sit down and shut up.

FIRSTIES on RIP Robin Williams! So sad. . .
@Frumpsef10 жыл бұрын
Are you really making a competition out of a great man's death?
@liammcdevitt691710 жыл бұрын
DarthHater100 Fuck u bro Robin William was a great actor. He may have committed suicide but he will still be remembered for his great acting and what an amazing person he was.
@liammcdevitt691710 жыл бұрын
DarthHater100 what the fuck were you thinking when you typed that. ever fan of Robin Williams will be on your ass now, so fuck you bitch
@DarthHater10010 жыл бұрын
Liam McDevitt I _WAS_ a Robin Williams fan, and he _WAS_ a great actor and an amazing person, but not anymore. It is sad, but not for him, only the family he left behind because he was a selfish piece of crap. _Now_ he'll only be remembered as a selfish coward who didn't have the guts to be a man and face his problems. There is a reason God sends people who commit suicide to Hell. He left his children fatherless because he is a cry-baby who in his last moments on Earth chose himself over his loved ones. My prayers go to his family, but _Robin Williams_ can rot in Hell.

The Negotiator, The Usual Suspects, LA Confidential, American Beauty, Se7en, A Time to Kill. So many good performances in great movies. I think Kevin Spacey should've been higher
@nvRanger10 жыл бұрын
Jim Carey should be much lower. His sense of humor appeals to elementary school kids.

He should have just been an hounerable mention Edward Norton should have been in his spot.
@marineblade90910 жыл бұрын
his comedy is a little bit childish, but the Truman Show and the Majestic really show that he could be more than just a comedian
@nvRanger10 жыл бұрын
Brian DuBois Yes he can be, which is why he still belongs on the list. I just think he should be a good bit lower.

Ouch, it looks like watch mojo now has to update the year robin williams died now. They released the video a few days too early. Bad timing. RIP Robin Williams.
@espenthomassen929510 жыл бұрын
***** What he says is that it was bad timing seeing that the video was posted 3 days before the death of robin williams.

I wish Samuel L Jackson was on this list! There were a lot of great films that he totally nailed like Pulp Fiction which he should’ve won an Oscar for the Interrogation scene and some of the worst films he had great moments like Phantom Menace and Deep Blue Sea.

On Brad Pit. The tied began to turn for him in 1994 when he was in Interview with a Vampire. He freaking nailed Louise.

i just cant believe it... watched this video only yesterday and remembered how much i enjoyed watchin Robin Williams' movies and now he's gone... oh captain, my captain! :( RIP you'll always be in our hearts

Watchmojo logic: Edward Norton and Morgan Freeman are on the same level as Adam Sandler ...oh, also Tim Robins, Joe Pesci, Sam Jackson and Antony Hopkins apparently can't even stack up to Mr. Sandler. Watchmojo, you are a joke.

I think Jim Carrey was placed way too high. He's talented, but after awhile, his loony, rubber-faced antics can get a bit grating in his comedies, particularly those Pet Detective flicks. His hyper, over-the-top schtick got old real fast in those films.

Its kinda sad that Kevin Costner had such a small run in Hollywood, but boy what a great run was, his movies in early 90s made money that literally seemed to be a dream gross for others

Nice List. But I think Robin Williams should be a bit higher than 10.
@alexmeyer526010 жыл бұрын
He was a box office king in the 90s, but not all of his movies were great. Patch Adams for instance, did very well at the box office, but was slammed by critics.
