At 59, I don't think I will ever go back to wearing skinny jeans again. I started wearing straight legs around 2018, slowly transitioning from skinny jeans to straight legs after close to a decade of wearing skinny jeans. I now realize they are not the most flattering for me. While I am not overweight at all, I am pear shaped and a straight leg or wider leg just looks much better on me. I have one pair of wider legged jeans and a few pairs of straight legs. I'll stick primarily with my straight legs. Happy to see dark denim coming back. It reminds me of my high school days of the early 1980's when dark denim was in. I wear white jeans every summer whether they are in or not because I love them so much. I need to pick up a new pair while there are in.

I like skinny jeans because I am short and petite and a lot of other cuts overwhelm me, and as you pointed out they tuck perfectly into boots in colder months. Always enjoy your content Leoni! ❤

At 53 I love love love skinny jeans as I am proud that I can still carry them off 😊. Very glad they're back and have kept mine. I knew they would come back as they're just so nice. I also like straight and wide leg and wear them all.

Personally feel skinny jeans rather than other styles work best with over sized/relaxed tops and straight cut works well for most figure types. As to color; in the climate I live in darker washes are more often worn in the cooler months. That being said; thank you Leonie for keeping me curremt and for others, to each their own and wear what you love.

I would recommend you try Torrid's extra petite or petite wide leg jeans. Another option would be Torrid's slim fit flare also in petite or extra petite.

I love denim in almost everything. I especially like cropped jeans with a slight flare, and cuffed jeans that aren't too wide that hit at the ankle. Your patchwork jeans you show here look amazing! Seeing these models make me want to buy a pair. (for me personally I'd pick a wide leg jean, or even skinny jean over a straight leg jean).

Got rid of all my low-rise skinny jeans. High and mid-rise skinnies are here to stay for me. Love a denim shirt and consider it a wardrobe staple like a basic white shirt.

I just came back from a trip to Europe and my Dutch niece wore skinny jeans the entire time we were there, and she was rockin' it. Me, I was fine with my wide leg. Got one from J Crew that fit my 4'11" frame.

Loving the look of cuffed jeans (will be on the hunt), but those patchwork jeans are the trendiest of the trends and, sorry, ugh. I love my high rise, wide leg jeans (ride or die!), and a good slim (I feel like skinnies just started to look like I was trying too hard) jean to, as you say, tuck into my boots in winter and go with a nice pair of ballet flats in summer!

Great report, Leonie! I'll be glad when dark wash denim shirts really hit the market. A couple months ago, from Urban Revivo, I ordered a beautiful dark wash midi-length denim skirt with very Schiaparelli-esque gold buttons down both sides. I want to style it in a Schiaparelli vibe, but need a dark wash denim shirt without either metal western style buttons or white buttons as I want the focus to stay on the gorgeous skirt and gold buttons. I spent two hours at the mall a couple weeks back, but couldn't find any denim shirts in dark wash to suit my need. I also checked the men's departments and have spent a lot of time looking online. I love that denim shirt that you're wearing. What label is it? I could style that one with other clothing pieces. I'm glad that patchwork jeans will still be around again. In the much cooler season, I will bring out my gorgeous wide-leg (2019) Claude High Flare Patchwork Jeans from BSides jeans. They make some really good jeans and in high quality denim. I have several pairs of their jeans and also their tops, jackets, etc. I've been buying them for years. Greetings from Los Angeles

@@Thestyleinsider. ​ It's probably the same skirt. It was the only one made with gold Schiaparelli-esque buttons down the front of both sides of the skirt and the same button at the waist closure. By the way, is the denim top that you're wearing by Urbanic? While just doing a Google search for a long-sleeved dark wash denim shirt to wear with the Urban Revivo skirt, a denim top popped up that looks like yours. I'm thinking of also getting that one for another styling situation. But, at least I have finally found the right dark denim wash shirt to wear with the Urban Revivo skirt and for half price on AGJeans. It's been two months of looking. I'll be glad to finally finish styling that skirt. I also have an eye brooch encased in gold with a light blue eye in the center which I'll put at the top of the newly ordered denim shirt. In my Boston suburb, skinny jeans are seen everywhere. I've only seen teenagers in wide legs. And myself, of course. Im 5'7" and love them with sneakers. I'm glad you didn't show denim capris or pedal pushers. Older ladies here love their capris and tunics still. Sigh...

I never cared for skinny jeans.i don’t think they are flattering on anyone, unless worn underneath the skirt, dress. I definitely don’t like cropped ones either. The only time I wear them with calf booties. Yes to cuffed ones, I just found from Old Celine Phoebe ones. Yes to wide leg jeans, 99% of my jeans are wide leg ones. No to embellishments or patchwork. The only time I would entertain that, if needs some extra room in the hip area lol 😂 I love darker denim, for fall. And never care for white ones, but I might get this year, a few from old Celine and/ or Phoebe. Have a blessed day🙏❤️

I don't like the current boxy denim shirts, often very plain or made of rigid denim. I prefer the classic look that's basically similar to a trucker denim jacket but made of thinner denim, I love the pockets and stitching on these, Zara used to do them in different washes and I bought several, they are very flattering and timeless. The current trendy denim shirts will not be a classic imo and are not very flattering either. I am glad I kept my old Gap slim straight jeans even though some are low-rise, one pair is mid-rise and I love mid-rise, hope it will become more mainstream, imo some of the high rise jeans actually make your belly look bigger because the belly area is so wide, the eye is drawn to it, contrary to what a lot of people might think. Wide leg jeans - they make your legs look wide, so shorter as a result. Even you Leonie look wider and shorter in them. I stick to my straight jeans (Marks & Spencer's autograph straight leg jeans with lyocell are fantastic) and bootcut (Marks & Spencer's Eva bootcut are so flattering and just £25). I buy them in the short length (I'm petite) to wear with flats and in the regular length to wear with heels.

No! No! To skinny jeans😭 as a 163cm person, just no. I’m a standard size 10, but with strong thighs. The 2010s were torture for me. I always felt frumpy and exposed. Fortunately at 59 I am happy to own style over trend

I say who cares if wide-leg, straight-leg, skinny jeans are in or out? I'm going to wear whatever jean looks and fit best on me. Skinny jeans were out for a whole minute. Good grief! 🤣🙄 I do love the chambray dresses and shirts. I'll pass on the huge cuffs on jeans. Don't like the look at all. A big NO for me on the patchwork denim. Looks ridiculous! 😂 Love the wide-leg jeans even though I'm petite. I just pair them with a fitted top and my (platform) heels for a longer-leg look.
