Great stuff! Devolver reminds me of discovering indie record labels in the 90s, and how just knowing a band was on a particular label was nearly a "seal of quality". My personal top 3 DD games are the Hotline Miami collection, Katana Zero, and Ruiner (have to shout out Mother Russia Bleeds and My Friend Pedro tho).

I am currently loving Cult of the Lamb, and it might be my favorite game this year. I'm on the fence but heavily leaning towards picking up inscryption and loop hero. I'm pretty sure I've already watched them, but I'm definitely going to go back and watch your reviews again. These three games seem like they would make the perfect cozy game pack for me

So many great titles here that have one thing in common making them great for handheld play - a top down perspective. There's something about looking down on a little game world in your hands and movement controls being so intuitive. Nuts that many people only play docked, when it's an experience no other home console offers.

I feel people miss mentioning Sword of Ditto Legend of Mollo Just a really chilled Rogue lite that spoofs the top down Zelda games. Quirky humor and pretty addictive gameplay. Just have to get past the loading screens to find the meat of the enjoyment.

I love this idea for lists! Highlighting indie brilliance. Very aces! I have admittedly only played The Messenger, Death's Door, and Ape Out. Carrion is next along with others you mentioned on your list Alex. I'd say I have enjoyed Death's Door the most though.

Great list of game from one of the top publishers on Switch, to be sure. Katana Zero is a personal favorite of mine, and one I go back to every so often just for the pure bliss of playing throrugh it again. Any time a new Devolver Digital title comes out, I know the risk of a new addiction is very, very real.

Ape Out, Ruiner, Carrion, and Death's Door I can say are incredible games. Their physical releases are also top tier, at least the ones I have (Carrion, collector's edition but not the most expensive one, and Death's Door, the standard retail one but it does have a beautiful manual and inside art and all that, I actually prefer it to what I saw is the game box and content in the collector's edition).

Special Reserve do a great job with the physical releases, I love the boxes. I've been trying to collect the devolver digital soundtracks recently, I have Carrion, Ape Out, The Messenger, Katana Zero so far, I also have Cult and Loop Hero on Pre-Order, I missed Death's Door though

@@SwitchCorner They have that old school goodness of looking at the box and flipping through the manual even when you're not playing, I love that. Although, that Carrion box is SO beautiful, I hardly dare to touch it. Death's Door did get a standard retail version as well I believe, and a retail collector's edition, as did several others. In Europe at least, but my Death's Door copy is actually a US import, I just checked.

Katana Zero is one of those first few games I played on the switch cause it was cheap. It's a short gem of a game. I never got to the end of the gungeon, but it was a fun ride all the same. Card Shark and Inscryption look awesome and will deifnitely get them once I have dealt with the backlog. The only other developer that comes to mind after devolver is Annapurna Interactive.
