As a Russian, who enjoys learning other Slavic languages, I may declare responsibly that all our languages are hard af. Even though they have a common structure, they contain lots of unique rules and even more exceptions in each. I mean, it's sometimes easier to learn all the exceptions instead of the actual rules, lol

@@waso778 Foreigners thinking that they "know" Russian usually do not use cases, genders and verb aspects. If we seem to understand your Russian speaking in some cases, it doesn't mean that you speak grammatically correct. Russian has three genders and 6 cases for any noun, applying it to verbs you'll recieve at least 40+ forms of every of them. I don't even mention participle and gerund. And tens of suffixes, and free word order that reflects fine shadows of meanings. If you think Russian grammar is easy, you don't even close to knowing it.

If someone starts learning it at a young age, Sanskrit is easier to learn and quite straightforward as well. People sometimes forget English is pretty tough to master. So many pronunciation rules; because it loaned so many words from different languages, it appears more of a word soup sometimes.

Yes, so many pronunciation rules in English, -and then loads of exceptions to these rules. Although my Scandinavian language is part of that soup: a more logical language would be better for international purposes when people learn a second language.

To be honest, almost all Japanese learners’ pronunciations sound somewhat weird to me. In TV or real life, I’ve almost never seen someone who speaks Japanese naturally as people born and grown up in Japan. Considering that, the way she said was easily decipherable to me and I don’t see any problem with it. Anyway, thank you for being interested in our language! I really hope you enjoy learning Japanese and get better at it!

No way a Slavic language, like the Russian you've mentioned, using the Cyrillic alphabet (which is basically a combination of Greek and Latin alphabets) can be more difficult than Japanese, Arabic or Hebrew! But I get it, this is more about USA politics than anything else, Russian must always be put "up there" with the difficult ones.

It is explained in the beginning that the video takes it that you speak English already..the fact we watch videos targeted on native speakers does not mean we need to be acknowledged every second of it. now if you are russian-american or a chinese person who teaches english...and you see your language "up there" you will know who the video was made for. It is impossible to make a universal video of the hardest languages to learn, as this is vastly different depending what your first language is.

In Arabic as in Korean, the subject is placed at the beginning of a sentence and before both the verb and the object. Also, not all sentences have to have a verb and for that Arabic does not have helping verbs. You can add a suffix to a verb to eliminate the subject as the verb and subject are written contented and pronounced as a single word. So, arabic so different not just in pronunciation but in grammar and structure.

It is not an actual "word". It's a construct of Finnish grammar rules that results in a very long string of letters. It doesn't actually "mean" anything, but it can be classified as a "word" since it is following the rules. To quote a Finnish friend, "The reverse of the reverse of something abstract that is made to be unorganized, which is owned by someone, and is one of the two or more (possibly similar) attributes that have a negative atmosphere or lack of something, and we doubt if it is it at the same time that we ensure that it truly is." Hope that clarifies things.

Nice to have put Korean so low on the list since it's a relatively easy language (both spoken and written) compared to japanese (that is not THAT hard to speak but hell to learn to write) or chinese (that is hard on both). If you're into Norse cultures learn Norwegian, lots of loan words and it's a gateway to learn other scandinavian languages like Swedish and Danish. If you want to appreciate the adventure of Thor and Loki in their original form then you better learn Islandic since it's quite closer to Old Norse than any other language I've mentionned...but as mentionned is alot harder to speak...probably why Marvel re-imagine the birth of Norse Mythology in Norway just in case they wanted to use "Asgardian" as they did in Loki (the actual reason I've started learning Norwegian as a hobby).
