The scene with Chris and Jess breaks my heart because you can so clearly see that he doesn't want to hurt her. He's genuinely thinking of her future and how his world will affect her. He's scared for her. Then on Jess's side, you can so clearly see that her opinion on Christopher had changed so much, only for it to go back to the way it was before. It's so sad and it breaks my heart every time.

Honestly, I understand, that scene seriously hurt. The thing is, even though Mitchie lied, she lied about her financial status only. (From what I remember) I feel like there should've been more people on her side, she felt embarrassed about her financial status and used her lies to fit in and to gain some more confidence during the summer. Tess r e a l l y was a big jerk, and this scene really really hurt because of Shane's reaction and because of what the lies were about/what they ended up building up to at this point of the movie

For everyone asking about what happened between those two actors...... Matt Prokop was emotionally, verbally and physically abusive to Sara Hyland, to the point of choking her once during a fight. And Matt's mother helped in terms of covering it from others for a long time. After she broke up and escaped from him, he started stalking her and threatening her with bodily harm. It escalated to the point of her getting a restraining order.
