Do you know that the actors confirmed that the ship Simbar happened because fans created it? In season one Ambar really disliked Simon and those smiles like when she first met Simon were because she was pretending to be nice, or there were scenes when Ambar talked to Simon just to turn him against Luna and everything. They weren't supposed to be together, but when producers saw what an impact had worldwide, all the fan-videos that were created, many and quite popular they decided to create it and so from the second part of season one Simbar starts to show.

But I do love how the next day after the one you showed, she comes in with the rose in her hair and they hold hands under the table it’s sooo cute. The reason for the Miraculous love square is 1. the memes. It's pretty much just a joke about all the situations that happen due to the double identity thing, and it's really funny when someone outside the fandom sees it and gets really frustrated and confused. 2. It helps keep things clear when discussing the relationships. There are different dynamics between each pairing of the love square because they have different levels of closeness. Like, imagine having another identity and you approach your best friend and they don't know who you are. You can't act like besties right away because they think you're a stranger. The love square just makes it easier to discuss these dynamics. Some people do treat them as entirely separate ships, and I admit that some forms are cuter than the other (like, the awkward smitten dynamic of Ladrien is really annoying but Marichat is nice because they don't put up facades around each other because they don't see each other romantically). Still, despite favouring one version of the ship over another, I still fan-girl over moments with each ship equally.

I’m currently watching season 1 of Soy Luna on Disney+ for the first time too, and I just am so so surprised the instant you revealed your number 1 pick. I’m only on episode 24 and I just do not see how Ambar and Simón could get together. I’m not against them, I’m just shocked. They seem really romantic though so I’m excited to see how their relationship unfolds because I just never would have seen them together.
